Some of those tracks look like they have very slack safety standards - especially those armco barriers. Looked to me like if you hit them at the right angle you'd go clean under them. Scary.
I'm amazed and happy with the leaps and bounds in saftey equipment. None of those guys have the containment seats, HANS devices, and the track workers are all running out to the cars in t-shirts like their going to do anything if the car is on fire. I can't believe some of those guys survived some of those impacts. It looks like some of them didn't have but a lap belt the way they were being thrown around.
I agree with you about the safety advances however. containment seats are not ever going to be apart of sprint racing. its a totally different design phillosphy those types of flips are th enorm for sprint racing but believe me when i tell you they have 5 or 6 point harness adn arm restraints those have been standard safety equipment for years in sprints. there wasnt too serious of impacts at any point in this video th eguard rail jam maybe but beyond that its normal racing situations in sprint
There were a lot of good Hoosier tracks in that video. Indiana is where it's happening when it comes to racing. I looked like Winchester , Bloomington , Salem , Lawrenceburg, and some other familiar looking places. Damn I love sprinters , if given a chance to drive anything on the planet it'd be a sprinter, pure hair teeth and eyeballs.
You obviously don't attend world of outlaws events, I have seen the best get into it and crash big. Ive seen 7 cars flip in a A main at Beaver dam in a world of outlaws event. Every series has crashes like this
lol this looks like so much fun, makes me want to take a trip to the US just to see a couple of races.
