man quiero saber si cuando boy a poner dos ram nesecito que sean de las mismas marcas? por que fui a comprar dos ram de 512 y me la dieron de diferentes marcas y cuando la puse desia en ingles como que la memoria eran diferentes o algo asi ayudame porfavor

hola amigo una pregunta esa misma targeta de memoria ram tambien  es compatible con acer hapyy con procesador atom N570 y tambien otra pregunta la targeta aguanta para esa targeta de 2 GB actualmente tengo la que trae de fabrica es de 1GB espero tu res piesta saludos

@Alcoho0n9496 No le puedes cambiar el procesador, está soldado. yo en lo particular me compre una Gateway core i3 330um es a 1.2ghz , 4gb ram, 320 hd, la pantalla es de 11.6 pulgadas, es un magnifico equipo en un tamaño razonable y como ya es core i3 pues reproduce sin problemas videos a 1080p, photoshop, etc. Saludos.

BE adviced there are 2 versions of the AOD260 1 is DDR3 PC-8400 and the older ones are DDR2 PC-6400

I have some problems upgrading my RAM. When I bought my laptop I had Samsung 1GB DDR3-1333 (667Mhz). Now I bougt Kingston 2GB DDR3-1333 (667MHz), but when I install it, my laptop can't start.

I mean, it starts, but display doesn't "turn on" and the HDD lamp makes only one flash and this is it.

What did I do wrong? When I put back my old RAM (1GB), everything works fine... Is there a special BIOS setting (well, I haven't found it) or something else?

@zakovsek86 visit Kingston.com - there is a Netbook Configurator. It told me, that only "Kingston KAC-MEMHS/2G" (DDR3 Netbook version) is made for ACER AO D260

I think it helps if you get the tip of a knife, the gap at the edge of the keyboard and the case isn't really big enough to get your card in, and the strength of the knife helped me too. It's a case of pushing back the clips with the knife, and then lifting up the keyboard over the clips in the same movement.

I found under the keyboard on my aspire one 260 there was a diagram telling you what screws to undo, and where to push. Very easy when you know how :)

Hey if you are all having ram problems go to crucial(dot)com and do the Crucial system scanner or pick your system. It will tell you what ram you need and what's best for your netbook.

I have got a ram card coming on the way and it's only cost me £25 from Crucial for a 2GB card. On Ebay you are looking at £27 to £30 for 2GB ram card.

Am happy with my buy. :-)

I THINK its the max bandwidth, the oririgal is 667MHz, and you CANT use a 1333MHz. Its not really about DDR2 or DDR3.

Thank you very much, I followed the instructions and my Acer now has 2 GB! Another tip:

With your notebook turned on and windows started, find out the exact make of your present 1 GB Ram bank. I used a program called "Rammon", this program tells you everything about the current RAM installed. The trick is to find a close match in make & model, only in 2 GB. My netbook was equipped with a 1 GB Kingston SO-DDR3 1333mhz, I bought a 2 GB version online and it works perfectly.

lol, oblivion works on my Acer Aspire One D260. Its lags when a lot of NPCs are around and in big rooms. I bet it will crash when I go out side or lag really bad.

The stuff in this video also works with the D255. It looks a little different inside, but you can pop open the bottom the same way. The top left tab on the keyboard was also a bit stiff, but once I had popped the right hand side up, I was able to shimmy it out.

@kruix6 hi, try with SO-DDR3 2GB PC10666 1333MHz, sometimes my netbook dosnt start with the other RAM bus this one woks fine.

@kruix6 Hi. Same here with Corsair 2GB 1333, Kingston 2 GB 1066 even BIOS won't start. Have an idea for reseting the BIOS, but still thinking. And removing the keyboard cable is not necessary.

@kruix6 make sure you check your memory out first. My D260 has N450 intel atom which is ddr2 (not ddr3 as this guy uses) pc2-6400 200pin sodimm. Stick to kingston or corsair and you be fine. The atom N455 i belive runs as a dual core cpu and uses faster ram.

good video.gave me the courage to upgrade mine but i could not get the keyboard off by pressing the clips so i went in underneath by prising the bottom cover with my fingernails,,,,,,,,,,,  You get a gap of about 30mm enough to get in a small screwdriver to unclip the 1g memory,pulled it out with a pointy plyers and put in the 2g the same way.pressed the cover back replaced battery,,,,,,,,took 2 mins.

Thanks man! almost wrecked my keyb following the video and just saw it wasnt working out, the side brackets on mine ( a d255) are unmoveable and trying to pull out the keyb would have scratched the casing to no avail.

Also took me about 2 mins :)
