This is great! recently my father-in-law said how he doesn't like Bruce Springsteen because the E-Street Band has a Glockenspiel. WTF! E Street to the Death... Any comments, please leave them, maybe he'll come to his senses?
@drjustinjohnson - Yes, but that is a common problem/charm with electromechanical instruments. The reason is that on pure mechanical instruments - like a piano - the tone strikes when the key is fully depressed - which is the most natural response. But on an instrument like this the depression of the keys are only part of the action. When the key is pressed the power to the hammers are switched on and then the electric action starts. This extra action gives the delay.
Wow thats a really good piece of kit . May need a better echo chamber bellow. But its great to see some thing that has been designed and built , `````````````````much more impressive than a simple music video. The music is nice but I am much more impressed by the knowledge and skill in the electric gizmo.
@onablueplanet - Echo chamber? Well........yes, but I wanted something that was relatively portable. And the sound is actually quite loud (of course depending on how much current the motors get).
Hi Flemming, very nice melody on your own creation instrument. Are you trigger it from a keyboard or from a computer?, and, where you take from the sound at 2:25?
I know a girl who plays the glockenspiel........ She not as good as you........ur a beast glockenspilist

@juanchow56 - The solo at 2:25 is performed on the Roland SH-2000 synthesizer with the preset "Singing Voice" and a little portamento.
The glockenspiel is triggered from a small one-octave keyboard. No MIDI or CV - only switches and 14 wires.
