  • Imanari vs Paul Harris in a footsie duel. I'd buy it.

  • classic rubber-guard sweep at 1:35

  • Ima kill that fuckin announcer

  • I respect that he wasn't scared of of him, also he wasn't doing bad until he tried to pull those leglocks instead of trying to get out.

  • INVERTED HEEL HOOK IS A FUCKING KILLERRRRRRRR

  • Its as logical as tryin to win a biting contest against shark.

  • Imanari knows how to finish when he gets a good grip on his opponents limbs.

  • WTF why in the hell would somebody try pulling a leglock on Imanari?....

  • WTF why in the hell would somebody try pulling a leglock on Imanari?....

  • american crowd = dumb

    brittish crowd = dumber

  • fight cro-cop, fedor, or Hug, .. get knocked out... u can fight the next week..

you lose to imanari... you don't walk for half a year.

  • stupid crowd does not know a dam thing about BJJ

  • Masakazu Imanari is a snake monster Jiu Jitsu martial artist! Even in a world where everyone and their dog has a ground game and black belt grapplers, you would/should still be terrified to face this guy!

  • OUCH......this fight is pretty entertaining. Silva was looking great standing but he chose to go into Imanari's guard and paid the price,,

  • fuck their ass break their necks ninja

  • he is god

  • BEAUTIFULLLLLl !!! the size difference was unreal ! silva could have probly won if he just stood up and not went to the ground !

  • Omo pllaaa, a!

    :-D English people.

  • ouchhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dang at 0:33 it didnt even look like a big right hand, it looked like a big rite slapped

  • 2:15 -> match losing move. putting your leg between imanari's legs....tsk tsk

  • @mrkiky well he passed that guard tbh, but imanari has somehow trapped his leg then, watch again. But yeah, nice capoeira style :)

  • @Morgothhhh well u know, they don't call him ashikan judan for nothing....I just would try anything involving ground work and legs against him tbh, chances are he's better than u at it, whoever u are.

  • @mrkiky unless if you're Shinya Aoki or Palhares.

  • fucking amazing.

  • Masakazu Imanari de los mejores!!!!

  • That announcer doesn't know shit. Imanari had a good rubber guard, just a shitty transition.

  • ummmm wow.... Aoki who?

  • @docbach329 Aoki and Imanari are teammates

  • @frostyhkd

ha ha. yeah i figgured that out about a day after I poted the comment. Pretty much explains why they are both such beast grapplers.

  • "Can you imagine if Silva got a leglock on the master of leglocks..." Actually no, no I can't.

  • years of training + a battle with Imanari + a severe heel injury = career ending...

  • First rule of fighting Imanari: do not play footsies with Imanari. Second rule of fighting Imanari: DO NOT PLAY FOOTSIES WITH IMANARI

  • @KJGould You'd think someone besides Bibiano would figure that out.

  • that is the most stupidist thing to go into to a offensive mode leg lock battle against imanari when he should have been only defending.

  • what a dumb ass crowd

  • daaam that cage is huge and hahaha thats what you get for trying to get the master of leglocks in a leg lock

  • Try to leg-lock the master of leg-lock. Who do you think you are ?

  • @aclock2 Yeah i was happy when that guy was in pain, who the fuck does he think he is

  • @aclock2 One does not simply leglock Imanari

  • The fawk is the crowd booing for?

  • lmao what a crowd! I'm more interested in jiu jitsu and grappling that watching shitty MMA boxing. If i want to watch knockouts I watch K-1. And If I want to see leg locks, I watch MASAKAZU IMANARI

  • nice...even tho it was short it was nice

  • tried to out-master the master

    and lost....

  • the other guy deserves what he got... for challenging the master of leglocks.

  • This guy got good grappling skills, entertaining to watch Mr. Imanari

  • what a name to have "the master of leglocks"

  • Man Silva lost his knee in that hold. Imanari really cranked that like a gator roll

  • Rofl, I guess we all learned today that you don't try a leglock on the master of leglocks.

  • just ask mike brown about those leg locks.

    Imanari is the man.

  • i dont see a fight there?!

  • @xXxENTExXx

dont see a fight there ? go into the ring with imanari and be sure taht your legs would feel the fight there

  • @maggot1234 i still dont see a fight... i dont need to get into the ring i just could stay in tha bed with my girlfriend and thats actually the same happens lol

  • @xXxENTExXx

    ah youre hopeless

  • @xXxENTExXx Except the forces you to felch her underwear ham.

  • Batalla de sumision y un buen ejemplo del "groundwork" ke hiso famoso al Brazilian jujutsu.

  • Playing leg-locks with Imanari was a BAD idea.

  • Fantastic fight.

  • Man, Imanari is great. Added to my favorites.

  • @ElektraKillBillBuffy haha I know how you feel. You ve being watching him every single of his videos and they almost all ended in armbars and leglocks lol right? His good!

  • I was there it was horrible to watch!!!!

  • He's got great skills but he's a bit of a dick with the strength he uses to put them on.

  • why the hell that fighter throw that kick!!!!! there was no posible way to land it thats the reason why he lost.

  • Lol, it doesn't matter. Imanari was gonna get his leg and do the same thing anyways. He's the master of leg locks.

  • @mashitn1 Yeah, that was a stupid kick to try again Imanari, especially if the guy new how good he is with leg locks.

  • If I was a mma fighter, this would be one guy I would not want to fight. When he gets hold of your leg, be prepared for it to make a nice crackling sound, then be prepared to scream your ass off.......ouch!

  • Awesone Imanari

  • Mission Control (1:15) to Invisible Collar (1:24) to Omoplata sweep ... NICE BJJ ... most train under 10th Planet JJ !!

  • nice try...more like mission control to crack head control to omaplata.

  • idiotic crowd booing within under a minute of ground battling... wtf

also that scream was brutal :\ Imanari is not one to be messed with, Ashikan Judan...

  • This is an excellent match!

Excellent techniques and both are awesome fighters!

  • Long Live Masakazu!

  • They should really band heel hooks theyre just to dangerous

  • @1HoneHeke1 You can tap out, you know.

  • @Lahed92801 true buddy, but it takes a fraction of a second to tear a ligament and retire a fighter for over a year. Plus there is money involved, so they struggle longer than normal when their heel is hooked because they dont want to tap and lose the cash. then POP/TEAR, ACL is history or the ankle is in peices.

  • what an awesome match

  • can't mess with the master of leg locks.

  • "White bear2 had be carried out of the arena.

  • What a retarded ! triying to get a leglock on Imanari Masakazu by risking your own legs to him !

  • These moves should be banned. That was cruel.

  • wow nobody else can match inminari at leg locks he pulls em off perfectly

  • you can hear Silva scream in pain @ 2:43

  • Imanari is the Submissions king!!

    BJJ forever.

    Look for my flying submissions!!

  • Maybe not the submissions king, but definitely the leglocks king!

  • What I don't understand about people fighting Imanari is that they aren't smart enough to tap earlier. They know who the guy is and what he does to people, still they fight to get out of the hold until the last millisecond. Silva was already screwed at least five seconds before his knee snapped in this fight, still he doesn't tap until he actually feels pain. Silva should be experienced enough to know when he's fighting a lost cause.

  • I know you're always supposed to fight with the intention of winning of course, but this is not boxing, you get no eight count...

  • It's hard to tell with leg locks...by the time the pain has set in, it's to late. Also i completely agree with you due to Silva's experiance, and knowledge of his opponent his should have tapped much sooner....assuming he knows better (he will now).

Also.. it's terrible how "fans" in north america don't appreciate the ground aspect of mma. Booing at 4:00 when he was clearly working towards a submission. Everyone is blood thirsty an wants to see that big KO. That's why fighters goto japan.

  • That was england.

  • Hahahaha, touche!

  • alot of american guys like submissions, i do, i like ko's as well, each one is good in its own right, depending on the situation.

  • 1:28. British dude saying omoplata.

  • omopla'a LOL

  • this fucker is good at submission lol..

  • All people who know him personally will know, Jean likes to make the fight entertaining for the crowd. Often at the risk of putting himself in bad situations.

He knows that this isn't the best strategy and he isn't a show off (he's actually very humble) but feels obligated to the audience.

Jean is back on form now and has 2 wins since this fight.

Imanari has beaten some very good opponents. including the current WEC champ Mike Brown! There's no shame in getting caught by him!

  • Beautiful stuff, from both sides really.

  • Knee bars are probably one of the most painful submissions to be put in, they suck so bad

  • Not a kneebar mate, it is a Heel Hook. Iminari's signature move. Heel hooks are actually banned in most grappling comps as it will destroy the knee before the guy can tap out. When the heelhook is applied and the guy feels pain the damage is already done. That is why most people don't tap cause they feel no pain then snap. If Silva is lucky he'll would have only been in crutches for a few weeks and not need corrective surgery

  • ohhh shit his knee is fucked

  • Comment removed

  • If Imanari had his hands on my heel, I would tap.

He doesn't have to crank it. Doesn't need to apply any pressure at all. I would tap.

So that I could walk the next day.

  • @mipp0 lmao

  • @mipp0 So afraid of that guy, would just run like hell if I was forced to fight him.

  • i didnt know ur suppose to say the omoplata like the omoplaha

  • might just b that the announcer is rly british if thats what u referring to, i always heard omaplaTa

  • that coulda been so ova

oy oy lmao ima kill these commentarers hahaha

  • I swear some of these people sound like crybabies man, how is he wrong for submitting someone else in a fight that he has trained to win. I mean it is a physical fight and you don't want to see someone lose their knees but damn the man is just out there to win. I wouldn't let someone beat me because my leg locks are dangerous. Some of these people sound like little crybabies.

  • Well... heel hooks are different. In the world of MMA and BJJ they just aren't. They are like forbidden jiu jitsu and there is a lot of stigma around them that a lot of casual fans don't understand.

  • Stupid ass crowd don't know shit.

  • It's just a crowd full of mainstream casuals looking for knockouts.

  • @boogynights They're English.

  • I like that spin kick Jean did when Imanari was on the ground.

  • it lost him the match lol

  • Cloudwacher, I understand what you mean but this IS A FIGHT. Plus, Jean knew who he was fighting. If he was scared or didn't accept the risk, he wouldn't have fought. Imanari is using his strongest skillset here to win. Nothing's wrong with that. he let go as soon as the ref stepped in. These are fighters man. I've you've never stepped on a mat or in a ring, you don't know.

  • i've studied BJJ for a short while, & I can do armbars, omoplatas, gogoplatas, flying scissors, some judo, some wrestling, etc. But the heelhook is fucking savage. I wish that move didn't exist. Yes, these are fighters, and to a degree, they're responsible for the injuries they acquire. But so is their opponent. And it seems like Imanari doesn't give much of a shit for anyone he fights. He leaves them limping, and it isn't necessarily their fault for not tapping in time. Heelhooks are too fast.

  • Well we speak a common language then, cause me too on the BJJ thing. :) I do agree with you hast heelhooks outside of MMA are too brutal and by the time you feel any pain it's too late. Ryan Hall does them a lot but does them safely. I do agree that Imanari seems to go for the crank rather than gradually applying pressure. But, he's a sweet guy, despite rumors ofhim being yakuza lol. Heelhooks ARE to fast yea, but I still think if you fight him you have to know to tap early. Lets keep this going

  • We should ban punches elbows knees and kicks too, because they leave their opponents out cold, shaking in convulsions in the corner, legs and arms up in the air stiff, and led to the death of Sam Vasquez.

  • Technically any technique you learn in any martial art is meant to be savage. These skills were meant to inflict great amounts of damage to the opponent and many were aimed to kill. That is the world of martial arts and, by making it a sport, these risks of serious injury or death can happen in a ring and not a battle.

  • you do know that not one person has ever died in MMA....

...that's more than one can say for boxing and football and many other sports...

  • fighters, yes, but they are supposed to be sportsmen as well. when the other taps out, no need to continue destroying knees and careers...

  • Sorry, but ettiqitte is to let go when the REF comes in, not when the tap comes. I've had matches where a guy tapped and I let go, only for him to lie and have the ref let the fight continue.

  • ok what about that: when you feel the tap you just keep the pressure as it is or loose it a tiny little bit for another sec until the REF stops the fight. still you will be able to instantly tighten the knee lock if your opponent should try to take advantage of your sportsmanship. good thing is his knees will be ok.

  • Or you incapacitate your opponent to the point where he couldn't take advantage of your sportsmanship even if he wanted to. Simple but easy.

  • You do realise that's a fight not making love? both fighter are well trained , and but he tapes out Imanari let go on the lock and thats true fairplay cos he could go on and break his knee. you see the diffenrce now ?

  • Silva is mad for trying to trade leg locks with Imanari.

  • Awesome! Omoplata turned into a sweep it looked like.

  • Hey sure, why not,

let's try to down kick at one of the greatest leg lockers in the world....

    nice Jean.

  • Most TUFers don't realize

Imanari would've easily been #1 at 145 if it wasn't for his ventures against natural 155er's.

  • easily no.1 are you mad? imanari is a great leglocker, a good fighter... but horribly unwell-rounded, anyway he has a great chance at the FWgp.

  • yea, but all things considered I think he's done quite well for himself. Who says you have to necessarily be well rounded to be a great fighter? Just because that's the norm doesn't mean knowing how to bring other fighters into your game won't make you equally effective as a fighter. It's an evolved sport and you do need to know everything, but not as much as people think imo.

  • he hasn't done badly, but he can never be no.1 at 145 there are just better fighters out there... this said aoki is no.1 LW for me and hes somewhat one dimensional although still more well rounded than imanari as he doesn't only do one thing. all in all i sort of agree but the top fighters, fedor, gsp, torres, kid are all very well rounded

  • poor silva. he has not fought since this match. His little flashy guard pass kinda gave his leg to Imanari though

  • That fight was an intense and very good match. 5 stars!

  • I think Imanari busted that guy's knees...

  • get raped

  • very impressed with the reversal/escape iminari pulled off - almost looked like he had a kimura locked in, but WITH HIS LEG :o

anyway, hats off to both, that was a good fight

  • that was an omoplata, not a kimura with the leg...

  • It's called an omoplata, but can be considered a kimura with the legs, lol

  • kinura com as pernas? esses gringos não entendem porra nenhuma mesmo.

  • hahahaha

  • Wow, what a fight..!

  • how heavy is Imanari?

  • he just fought in bantam... but his weight is usually around 135-145 if im not mistaken

  • A good way to fight Imanari is to tape both legs together and hope that he can't rip both of them off at once.

  • Or use Akiyama's strategy and just grease em up.

  • jean perdeu de forma ridicula.

n conseguiu se manter na luta.

ele era muito superior a esse kra.

  • Becks on the commentation

  • That was a phenomenal match!

  • i would have started tapping at around 2:31

  • roflmao i woulda tapped as soon as the ring announcer said my name

  • he he he me to

  • nice heel hook

  • You dumbass, keep your legs far away from Imanari's hands. That's just common sense.

  • Ya I gotta say that a was a horrible decision by Jean to do that little spinning kick to Imanari when he was on his back.

Against any other guy that might not be a big deal but how are you gonna put your leg in the guard of a 10th Dan of leglocks lol.

  • try to get a leg lock on the master of leg locks lol

  • are his techniques from catch wrestling?

  • Catch wrestling, shooto, and most recently, BJJ.

  • Maaan Imanari is a genius!

  • I have been having a Hell of a time trying to find Cage Rage 5 Jean Silva vs. Leigh Remedios.

Anyone know where or how I could see footage of this fight?

  • One of the sickest gurad passes I've ever seen!

  • Love the commentator pronunciating on 'omoplata'

  • Hahahahaha me too :D

  • just watching imanari's foot attacks is scary

  • He rolled..then he ran out of room..SNAP!

  • Amazing fight.

  • Imanari using rubberguard. That's priceless.

  • I know!... Notice how the announcer didn't know what it was.

  • jean silva aint no black belt

  • Yes, he is, and has the competition credentials to back it up.

  • And you give iminari your leg why? lol jean silva made the worst mistake... jean silva shouldve kept this fight on the feet... why even go to the ground gainst imanari

  • well he knows bjj too.. but that leg thing was really stupid giving imanari your leg bad idea

  • cho---- kakkoiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!

  • Shit ref tbh, wtf was he doing all the way over their, imanari doesn't let go and Silva's knee will be ruined from that inverted heel hook.

  • why would u try to exchange leg locks with jap? should of keep standing instead of wird leg spin into immanarys guard..

  • I saw this fight and Jean Silva had to be carried out of the ring because he couldn't walk.

  • silva was owning on the feet,he should have stayed there, you dont mess with imanari on the ground if you got long legs.

  • Once Imanari gets a hold of your legs...it's over.

He doesn't fuck around with them leg locks.

  • hansen got away once

  • Cause he need him to the fucking face. Hahahaha

  • *kneed* I meant
