Where I live summer does not start till December. So this is my top 5 of this year. #5 Mary and Max #4 Slumdog Millionaire #3 BBPD of WALL.E #2 Man on Wire #1 The Curious Case of Benjimin Button If you want to make it 8. #6 (500) Days of Summer #7 Moon #8 The Boy in the Striped PJs I have no R rated films on here except for Slumdog (which is R13) because I am only 14.
Watchmen is not only in my favorite films of the year, but one of the best movies I've ever seen. But this is the best SUMMER movies, Watchmen didn't come out in the Summer.
I thought the only people who cared about the things you did while being out of your mind were yourself and the two other guys who managed to get as smashed. Apparently I was wrong by the amount of people who saw this movie and the positive buzz about it. I had a problem with about everything in The Hangover. But then again, what do I know about movies? Look at my #1. ;)
After I saw "alive in Johannesburg," I couldn't wait to see "District 9". It's kind of a coincidence because both "9" and "District 9" were both short films beforehand. However, "District 9" works a lot better than "9" as a feature film.
u know wat man, i totally agree with u with the movie selection, altho i would put hungover at 4 cuz that honestly the one of the funniest films ive seen in a long time and i havent actually laughed that hard in a movie theater so.... yea
keep up the awesome reviews man, i enjoy watchin ur videos
Top Ten? lol sorry 10. Drag Me to Hell 9. The Hangover 8. Harry Potter 6 7. Moon 6. The Hurt Locker 5. Star Trek 4. Inglourious Basterds 3. District 9 2. (500) Days of Summer 1. Up
I can't choose which is best so, in no particular order....
1. District 9
2. The Hurt Locker
3. The Hangover
4. Inglorious Bastards
5. Moon
All very good
My worst/ biggest disapointment was definately Transformers 2. Their was so much action and CGI and I still found it hard not to doze off, I hate that film it's only redeeming quality is Megan Fox and that doesn't really count for shit.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is bad, even though it`s not as awful as X-Men 3 was, Revenge of the Fallen is a huge insult to the Transformers franchise, and I don`t know about G.I. JOE though.
I've noticed the 10 most commonly picked films were Up, District 9, Star Trek, The Hangover, Inglorious Basterds, Terminator Salvation, The Hurt Locker, Moon, Drag Me to Hell, and believe it or not Transformers 2 (Not disrespecting anyones opinion on TF2 by saying that.)
I didn't think it wasn't bad. I thought it was relatively funny. But I agree, it wasn't that good, and a bit overrated by most people. I saw far better comedies last year.
All 5 of those movies are masterpieces that will entertain audiences for generations to come! Transformers 2 is ranked right up there with From Justin To Kelly as the greatest film ever made!!!!!!
I'm just kidding. All 5 of those films sucked
I can't really think of a list but I did like your list and a couple more movies along the way, I'd say this was a pretty good summer for film
4. Watchmen (I know it came out in March, still counts as a summer movie to me)
5. Terminator Salvation
I didn't see the critically acclaimed ones like The Hurt Locker, The Hangover, Drag Me to Hell or Harry Potter 6 yet either, but for now those are my top 5.
All you idiots who choose Watchmen are fuckin' morons. That film just shows how hollywood is fucked up and cant make any original ideas and depend on name value. I dont give a shit if the film is good or not, its a fuckin' disgrace to comic books and makes hollywood look like a disgrace.
Transformers 2 wasn't that bad, just not the best. The humor was dumb as shit, but the effects were A+. But Year One, everything sucked about it. Humor, acting, everything. I hardly ever fall asleep in a movie at the theatres, but Year One, Jesus Christ, I had a good 1 and 1/2 hour sleep from that one (short as hell I might add which is good/bad.) A movie would have to intentionally suck like Disaster Movie or any Uwe Boll film to be any worse... But hey, everyones got an opinion.
I do agree on the effects. Transformers 2's effects were so great, that at least the special effects guys actually worked their asses off. They worked harder than the writers, and the other crew of this film.
Yeah, the writing was pretty bland and the plot has been done a million times before in this genre, bad guy wants power, good guys stop them and kick their ass, yeah, amazing. But when you think about it, the two writers of this film (Alex Kurtsman and Roberto Orci) wrote the new Star Trek movie aswell, which kicked ass, at the same time as this movie. I'm sure if they devoted more time to this movies writing, the story and humor could have been way better.
If someone comes up to me and says "I like Year One" I won't do the obvious thing like call them an idiot or anything like that, I will actually respect them more, (not because they gave their honest opion or anything like that), but because if someone likes Year One, they have been given God-like powers, because no mortal human being in the world could like that movie.
I'm betting most the budget to Hollywood films goes towards the producers, directors and stars, leading to inflation and devaluation of amounts like, say, $100 million to less than a fifth of that.

Worst Movie of the Summer: Year One
