Yes, many Nazis fled to the West as the Soviet government would condemn them for the crimes committed by them. Yes, the same head the U.S. space program was a Nazi.

not only were these sentiments in the soviet union about a unified germany, but the west was worried about the same thing. germany had started 2 world wars... turns out the soviets became a bigger threat to the west than germany.
