Trot Lining for Catfish 4/26/09

I wouldnt really use worms on a trotline. Thats why u kept catchin bass and crappie and junk. Trotlines are made for catfish. Nice job though. I remember when I brought in a trot line for the first time. Its really excited

@OutdoorsInTheMidwest What you baitin' with? Depending on what ya want, minnas r the best, and will catch anything that swims by. People that bait with liver and junk, catch junk, not crappie, bass, or flatheads. Bait at dusk or night, and preferably run a few hours later, 3-5, or the next morning you will have dozens of twist-offs. :)

Young fellows you did very well for your first time trotlining. I used to run trot lines when I was a boy too. We had a camp on the Tombigbee River near Jackson, Alabama where we would spend the weekends trotlining. Your excitement in the video brought back some very special memories for me from my days of youth. Keep up the work and have fun, but always think safety first. Lifebelts, keep an knife with an open blade in your pocket incasea hook snags your clothes and you go in water.
