Use a program called "Transcribe" and you can slow down the music, get rid of the drums and base. There's a keyboard at the bottom of the screen to find the exact notes of the guitar parts. His tutorial however, is in drop D.

no no no its a pinch harmonic with a vibrato

yes a pinch harmonic. that would be where you use your thumb to follow up the pick to make the strings vibration distort. this causes a high pitched squealing sound. some other names for it are the picked harmonic and the artificial harmonic. don't confuse this with natural harmonics, where you rest your finger on top of the fret and play, it make a more silenced humming. there is also tapped harmonics, but i think im going into too much detail lol...

well tune to Drop D, then tune the low E to 8 instead of 7, then tune the rest to that.

Drop D is the biggest part. It'll still sound good in Drop D standard. You'll just get that extra chugginess out of it if you flatten aswell. :D

I dont know if youre talking to me or the guy who commented above you but just thought id throw my 2 cents in here. C# is actually different than Db. in a lot of intruments (like piano, guitar, a lot of wind instruments) its the same note just for simplicity but the notes themselves are actually different. Db is a little higher than C#. but referencing to key signatures, Db is a LOT different than C#. yes on the guitar it will be played the same but it is actually a lot different. that is all :)
