Was at that game last year and it was VERY strange (aside from being the ONLY Razorback fan in my section lol! the fans were all cool as hell) but their fans were also confused that replays of the questionable calls not being shown at the stadium... the only egregious call to me was the goal line fumble ruled a TD... not the deciding factor, simply put... inexperience vs great LB play cost UA at the end... Auburn pounded MSU like a drum two years ago without Newton...and that was in chizik's fist year. He's had 2 consecutive top 5 recruiting classes since then.
Like I said, I have no idea what MSU has for next year, but I do know Mullen has them going in the right direction. As long as he remains there they will not be an easy victory.

There is an incredibly strong relationship between recruiting class rankings and a team's overall performance in subsequent years. Boise State is the only team I can think of off the top of my head who continually has 10 win seasons with mediocre recruiting classes, and that is more of a function of a weak strength of schedule.
As for Auburn, I'm expecting 9 wins (including the bowl), so we almost agree.

That was Malzahn's first year, and he did not have all of the four and five star recruits that he now has in his offense. This offense will be better than 09. And the defense can't possibly be worse than it was in 2009. The schedule is the same, so Auburn will win 8 games or above.

I just watched the whole game again, thanks to sec network website. I know longer hold that Arkansas got screwed. A third down bs pass interference call led to an Ark td the next play, and a very generous 4th down spot gave a first down, then a touchdown for Ark again. The fumble no-call for Auburn was a weird play, but it did not decide this game. Even with 2 questionable calls for Auburn, Arkansas got 2 of its own, and collapsed in the 4th all on their own. Sorry, Auburn won.
@flyinspider It was more a momentum thing than anything. Arkansas already had momentum even with that bad call that helped them. The timing of the bad fumble call made it so that Arkansas completely lost their momentum and Auburn managed to steamroll right through them after that.
I also think that it was also the turning point of Auburn's season. Before that, they were barely winning games they shouldn't have struggled against. Afterwards they destroyed the rest of their opponents.

You are ignoring momentum. Refs gave them two touchdowns and that kind of momentum kills your morale and your defense. The Refs can take any team out of a game with bad calls that kills their momentum. Finale numbers don't represent the loss of momentum during the game. Horrible Calls. The SEC treats Arkansas like it is on some reservation in Oklahoma. We will struggle against officiating against the original SEC teams until new teams are added to the conference.

Of course the refs called a pass interference and Arkansas got it inside the 5 and scored. Those calls did not put Arkansas out of the game. Those back to back interceptions did. Arkansas blew their own chances.

Hilarious video. This was one of the worst officiated games ever. I don't know if all of the bad calls caused the game to go the other way, but it definitely didn't help. Auburn is not to blame for it, though, it is the SEC officials. There were bad calls on both sides of the ball, but the "big" ones all favored Auburn.
3rd down- auburn causes an incompetion. the CB did not even touch the WR. the pass was not even touchable. the ref called a pass interference. I'm not saying these calls were or were not bad, but it's not like everyone doesn't get bad calls...heck in the bama game, I'm not sure what crack the officials were smoking, but they were adding about a yard to bama's spots on 3rd down and seemed to be taking a yard off of ours at significant point of the game.

Auburn pounded MSU like a drum two years ago without Newton...and that was in chizik's fist year. He's had 2 consecutive top 5 recruiting classes since then.
Like I said, I have no idea what MSU has for next year, but I do know Mullen has them going in the right direction. As long as he remains there they will not be an easy victory.

You guys will struggle because Newton was your offense. Without Newton you will be like 2009, a mediocre QB with a descent offense that will score, but won't get you anwhere near 2010. I see 7 maybe 8 wins for Auburn.

@MrHogGamer Recruiting doesn't mean anything? You can't honestly believe that. There is an incredibly strong relationship between recruiting class rankings and a team's overall performance in subsequent years. Boise State is the only team I can think of off the top of my head who continually has 10 win seasons with mediocre recruiting classes, and that is more of a function of a weak strength of schedule.
As for Auburn, I'm expecting 9 wins (including the bowl), so we almost agree.

@MrHogGamer Auburn's offense was good in 2009, not mediocre. It was ranked 17th in the nation. That was Malzahn's first year, and he did not have all of the four and five star recruits that he now has in his offense. This offense will be better than 09. And the defense can't possibly be worse than it was in 2009. The schedule is the same, so Auburn will win 8 games or above.

I just watched the whole game again, thanks to sec network website. I know longer hold that Arkansas got screwed. A third down bs pass interference call led to an Ark td the next play, and a very generous 4th down spot gave a first down, then a touchdown for Ark again. The fumble no-call for Auburn was a weird play, but it did not decide this game. Even with 2 questionable calls for Auburn, Arkansas got 2 of its own, and collapsed in the 4th all on their own. Sorry, Auburn won.

@flyinspider It was more a momentum thing than anything. Arkansas already had momentum even with that bad call that helped them. The timing of the bad fumble call made it so that Arkansas completely lost their momentum and Auburn managed to steamroll right through them after that.
I also think that it was also the turning point of Auburn's season. Before that, they were barely winning games they shouldn't have struggled against. Afterwards they destroyed the rest of their opponents.

You are ignoring momentum. Refs gave them two touchdowns and that kind of momentum kills your morale and your defense. The Refs can take any team out of a game with bad calls that kills their momentum. Finale numbers don't represent the loss of momentum during the game. Horrible Calls. The SEC treats Arkansas like it is on some reservation in Oklahoma. We will struggle against officiating against the original SEC teams until new teams are added to the conference.

@358tyler do you even watch football, Arkansas would have scored on their forward momentum after recovering the Auburn fumble on the one yard line. Obviously you did not watch the game because there was another occasion where the officials ruled a fumble on arkansas after Hamilton was down a whole second before the ball came out, so the points that were bottle fed to the Tigers by the Officiating crew were what won them the game.

@Hogsfanful Arkansas got the first *7 points of the game off of a blown call. Auburn has Arkansas on 3rd and long. Mallet threw it to the receiver who was not even touched and he missed the catch. Of course the refs called a pass interference and Arkansas got it inside the 5 and scored. Those calls did not put Arkansas out of the game. Those back to back interceptions did. Arkansas blew their own chances.

HaHaHa. I seem to remember the LSU Bammer game last year, in which an LSU defensive back caught what was clearly an interception, but the replay officials in alabama thought otherwise. You don't have to have a degree from alabama to understand INDISPUTABLE evidence. Even though it probably wouldn't help much. Hilarious video. This was one of the worst officiated games ever. I don't know if all of the bad calls caused the game to go the other way, but it definitely didn't help. Auburn is not to blame for it, though, it is the SEC officials. There were bad calls on both sides of the ball, but the "big" ones all favored Auburn.

3rd down- auburn causes an incompetion. the CB did not even touch the WR. the pass was not even touchable. the ref called a pass interference. Arkansas gets a first down inside the 5. they go on to score. so going by what the rest of your fans are saying, that one call swayed the entire game. ya'll got the first horrible call to go your way. so in actaulity, it caused everything to go the way it did. this is based off of your fans arguments

i was at this game and while i think the video is cute, still pictures do not tell the story. put streaming video up here and see that fannin had already broken the "plane" when the ball was dropped. broken plane = touchdown. however, i will say there were A LOT of bad calls that game, going both ways. Sometimes it's a bad day for refs in the SEC. i hate 'em, but they are human and fallible... it's all over now anyway. WDE.

and the ball clearly never got there, because as you see his ball-carrying arm break the plane, there is no longer a football in it.
