Personally, I hated Dogma at the time (the first Smith film I saw). Now I appreciate it, but I still don't love it. There's no accounting for taste, but 5 out of 5? ... hmmm.

Religious parodies hardly ever work. Dogma included, they almost always seem to pull their punches and end up cutesy ... Dogma was like the Bible if Hollywood wrote it -- cruder yet more politically correct, a lot more schmaltz, still probably not as violent.

My favorite Smith film is still the original Clerks.

J&SB was the second Smith Film I ever saw ... and I was not confused; clearly he was doing dual roles.

In my humble opinion Jay and Silent Bob, while perhaps the stupidest of Smith's films (tie with Mallrats) was as funny as any of them, if not the funniest; 2/5 seems harsh to me for a comedy that made me laugh a lot more than most.

He said "You've got to find the line and cross it" something to o with Dogma. But it's interesting do you know anything about it. Dude you read my mind, Jay and Silent Bob was my first Kevin Smith movie, I didn't know who he was at the time. But I saw this and it was funny but I didn't get alot of the things going on. Then I saw clerks then all the other movies cause they mention them in Strike back. All the characters are talking about stuff they did in other movies and I was like What? But I'm seen everything now. Except I've seen Dogma onlt half way and Chasing Amy only the begining when that guys calls him a tracer.
