well, what do you do now? Fountain design is not taught anywhere. We have talent from all design fields. Landscape architecture, product design, architecture, textile design, urban planing, engineering... etc. It's all about the individual's sensitivity towards the medium of water. It's like kissing: you either good in it or not. -and if you are not, then no one is interested in what you have to offer. We are picky. We only have the best. I am the head of choreography at WET - Peter Kopik - look it up. You are the "idiot" since it's fake. It is not a show on the fountain but it is quite an editing achievement. I very much enjoyed the collage of other fountain shows. The beginning is a bit repetitive and the ending is missing a couple of beats but I liked it.

@pkopik OMG! seriously? This was from 9 or 10 years ago when I was around 13/14 years old when i did this after going to Vegas and falling in love with the fountains. I agree it is repetitive; I had limited footage before the days of YouTube :-p

How would I get into doing something like you're doing now? I mean I assume there aren't any courses for it? lol

@flamegig Where do you think Dubai got the idea. Yes Dubai is MUCH bigger, but doesn't mean it's nicer. Just means you have to be busier watching them than enjoying them. Don't take my comment the wrong way, I think Dubai is very very nice, but Bellagio has been doing these a long time.

Choreographing one song at Bellagio takes a few weeks' worth of work. Consider 200+ Oarsmen (robotic nozzles) each with a motor to control X and another for Y axis, plus each Oarsman's light and variable-speed pump are controlled separately. Then a few hundred Shooters (water cannons) and over 2,000 individually-controlled lights. It takes a while. Each year, WET Design creates new shows to add to the list. And yes, The MI theme would be fun.

BTW I have a new show now, known as Animazement! it has 3 new fountain effects, and 2 new 'shooters' maxing out at 120 psi, shooting about 110 feet high... I can only get them to fire off once each show.  I am also soon installing the first submersible fixtures.

it's all done via a computer program. it wouldn't actually take that long to reset the fountains to go in a certain direction at a certain time. done in prolly a day? maybe more to make perfect
