Man, you are a legend. I had a piece of 1.1 hardware at work and was tearing my hair out trying to find a solution. Dell 990 and Latitude 6410 both had the same problem... I traced it down to the processor being common ground - any dell hardware before these worked fine. Your comment here (on youtube of all places) was the final piece in the puzzle to solving this issue. Thanks!!
Older dual core cpu's are phasing out, soon everyone who buys a new laptop is going to have an i-series chipset in it. Furthermore, where on the box does it say 'does not support i-series computers'?
@1200Expert it doesnt, but the problem lies in the fact that as i-series is new and usb2.0 is standard that they ditched the backwards compatibility for older usb1.1 products, hence the issues, altho mac did make a fix and the new software releases of serato contain the patch
@thesmf1210 it is serato's fault actually...in the early 2000's serato built the program around the existing intel P4 architecture. in 05 they built it around the new dual core architecture. Core iX is no different.
@owl007 then how come mac's with i processors are fine then? wait, cos mac went and sorted the issues, lets see.... windows, no they didn't, so once again, not serato's fault, windows fault!!!
@thesmf1210 when you are a software programmer you build around the existing architecture. FYI macs also suffer this problem as well. go read the serato forums. And once again. to claim its window's fault is placing blame on the wrong item. if it was a windows issue then why is it that there are only issues with serato? shouldn't there be issues with say traktor, virtual dj, etc? Don't turn this into a mac vs pc argument, cause this has nothing to do with the actual issue.
@owl007 well if its to do with building around the existing architecture then it was firstly, built pre i-series processor, secondly, built around the mac operating system (fact!), yes mac's had the same issues thats why as soon as it was apparent, serato related to mac and they came up with a fix and subsequently through there involvement with each other all new releases of the software have the fix patch incorporated so its fixed at install, windows didn't bother with any such thing
Serato fails!
