  • Nice. Out of interest, (probably a silly question) what is the long nose boom used for?

  • @DounutCereal - no such thing as a silly question Brendan - the probe sticking out the front (in particular the red bulb on the end) houses remote sensors for gathering electromagnetic, magnetic, radiometric and gravity data. The remote sensing capabilities are critical to the subsurface exploration needs of the mining, oil & gas, engineering and environmental industries.

  • @lethalCT4E Thanks Lethal. Good catch, we don't get anything like this down our way. It sounds like some expensive equipment is housed in there!

  • @DounutCereal - the expensive stuff is contained within the aircraft, the bulb only has the sensors :)
