  • Despite the flaws in the facts, you blokes are having fun, and that's the point.

  • "cheers to... breaking the law", lamo!

  • Why did you burn it?

  • Absinthe does not cause any hallucinations what so ever. Like Absinthe review said.

What you are experiencing is extreme intoxication.

  • DJHypnotixx = Absinthetee = Guy Star of Absinthe 101

  • if you don't think wormwood is NOT hallucinogenic, smoking it will change your mind. But it is toxic in hi doses so if you die don't come back to haunt me cos I told you so.Sure there are many Absinthes that taste better than Strong 68 and some a lot worse. but it seams to kick more ass than most

  • your a big fat wannabe absinthe lover....so you got a bottle of strong 68? so what you wanna fight about it? personally....thats crap....and so are you shut up....unless you know your stuff....go eat a ho ho fatass...

  • What a whole load bad information given.

TheAbsintheReviewNet is totally correct Absinthe is not halucinogenic whatsoever.

Ive been drinking for years and what people believe about its effects are well out of control.

Infact there are no psychoactive ingredients in absinthe. Thujone is assumed by modern-day drinkers that it gives a high, but it doest not. People believe that Pre-Ban Absinthe had such an extreem amount of Thujone that it was highly potent and caused the drinker to see things.

  • Infact preban still only contained no more than 10mg/l like thats within law today. It appears that very little thujone survives the distillation process anyways. Yes you can find descriptions of absinthe highs in 19th century literature. Mostly written by poets, Poets tend to exaggerate things.

Personally and effect one will experience is from the "high" alcohol content and not some non existant halucinogenic.

  • There WERE people who hallucinated while drinking preban absinthe, but this has nothing to do with thujone or wormwood.

Rather, some unscrupulous distillers, instead of making absinthe properly, would mix in toxic chemicals like copper sulfate to make it green. This poison, combined with binge-drinking induced alcohol poisoning, caused hallucinations. However, they were nothing specific to absinthe.

  • Brendon you are an Artist and your canvas is the screen and your brush the camera. Research makes a great vid excellent.

    Signed the Absintheur

  • Nice job. After some experimentation The Chech. meathod is nice once in a while, and for show but sometimes I find myself to thirsty to wait, so I use the French meathod without flame. Just sugar, and water slowly. I got a couple here in the U.S. (Lucid, Kubler) But when I saw the Strong 68 in the video I had to try it. The other two I bought were easy, balanced and kinda boring. The Strong 68 had that bitterness from the xtra thujone that I can't get here in the states. The Strong 68 is Awsome

  • thujone is tasteless that bitter u tasted is the extra wormwood in the strong 68

  • we also added wormwood on the sugar before we melted it but it did not make the final cut in the vid

  • Thats why the sugar was so Green...Sneaky you left that part out. Isn't it funny how angry some people get about this shit. I still love this vid. Please don't ever take it down. In fact, Making more absinthe movies with different brands may be a fun idea. Can you get it down under?

  • We can get some brands down here have not really done too much research on it. Strong 68 was imported and is not legal in Australia My mate Guy (dude in vid) is more into it then me. Absinthe 101 was a freak accident and not really a formal vid of mine until I was mucking around with my editing program. The green stuff was filmed but did not make the final cut due to some bad camera work by myself. But Absinthe 101 is 1 of my top 3 fav vids I have made next to Sublime 12th birthday and Y.2.K

  • From where do you get 200 years? It's a hundred years and in almost every country the ban has been lifted.

  • Absinthe was invented in 1797 by Dr. Pierre Ordinaire.... That would make it 211 years old, sorry mate your 111 years off the mark.

  • wrong: Absinthe was not invented by Pierre Ordinaire - it was just distributed by him.

Before you spread such wrong information, you better do some serious research!

  • awesome vidoe guy. i enjoy absinthe, but the stuff we get here in the states has very little halucinogenic properties. mostly alcohol

  • Thanks for the comment nothing wrong with mostly alcohol but you can buy Wormwood sep its a halucinogenic its a green liquid in a little bottle (try a herbal shop) put 2 or 3 drops on the sugar cube before you poor the absinthe then light the cube Happy drinking

  • It's NOT hallucinogenic, you buffoon. You think you'd learn that from, I don't know-DRINKING an alcoholic beverage with it IN IT?

And Strong 68 is some terrible German rubbish. Try ordering some La Clandestine 53 next time...

  • actually the stuff we get in the States is the same as what other European countries get as absinthe, very simular laws, like countries in Europe we are allowed up to 10mg/l of thujone content(not that it matters anyway its the quality of the herbs used that gets the "effects" of absinthe) the only difference is the "bitters" law they have that allows up to 35mg/l of thujone which is what that absinthe in the video is concidered.

  • wow it must be strong we see...i wonder how it tastes.i guess its like cologne.

  • Thanks for watching my film what did you think?? white zambooka is the closest tasting drink ive had
