I was disappointed at this years Grammy Awards on the segment of the music artist we lost last year that Rob Grill (Nov. 30, 1943- July 11, 2011) who for nearly 45 years was the lead singer of the Grass Roots, who sang on such hits as “Midnight Confessions,” “Temptation Eyes” and “Live For Today,” was left off of the tribute. The Grass Roots spent a record breaking 307 consecutive weeks on the Billboard charts.
Forgotten at the 2012 Grammys remembrance segment. Shame on you on you money grubbing trendy fools. I remember you Rob. You'll make a good duet with Whitney in R&R Heaven.
The first song that I saw them sing on American Bandstand. I've been a fan for 43t years. Thanks so much for posting this video & keeping the music alive. Happy Birthday, Rob. R.I.P. & never forgotten, Rhonda
@VioletJm, thank you for info. What a terrible loss. I meet him back in the 80's when I worked security at ChicagoFest. I
was surprised that he took the time to talk with me. I was just some goofy kid from Milwaukee in awe of this very kind and wonderful man. Very sad. R.I.P Rob.
@aimeemannfan2010 - Rob Grill died July 11, 2011. (Age 67.) He had been in a coma since sustaining a head injury a few weeks earlier when he fell after suffering a stroke in Lake County, Florida. Wonderful, talented man.
@aimeemannfan2010 he passed awy around august 1st . we saw them on tour in miwaukee on aug, 7. I believe it was the first concert ever without him, i really miss his vocals....
What a tragic loss. I was to see them next week here in Florida. Rob will be missed tremendously. Thank God we have these video's and the music that will live on forever. RIP Rob.
I will say they are lip synching their own song cause where are the trumpets, etc? And it sounds exactly like their release. And what is the bass guitarist doing? Does he play or is he high? I still love them. I want to take Rob home and kiss him!
Take me back to 1969! My favorite group of all times. So nice to look at too! No music today compares with this. The Grass Roots knew how to make music!
@luangu I had a pair of red pants back in 69 but this tops mine, that guy had it all going for him......you just gotta love it! We all will miss you rob............Amen
