Nice video...looks familiar too since i am from lofoten. Just one question tho..why do you harpoon a really big halibut,when you only get..hmm like 25kgs(2007)and this year less. And yeah...the sport part whent out the window when you pick up your harpoon.

Try some catch and release. Halibut is actually almost eradicated and listed as too.

, coalfish (Gadus Virens) and halibut (Hippoglossus hippoglossus). No ling cod whatsoever!

why dont you use gaffs? whats the songs name?

Gaffs don't work that well on big halibut. They go bananas and often comes loose from the gaff, and the swinging gaffshaft kan knock you out. Therefore they are often harpooned. Flying gaff also work, and fish up to 25-30 kilos can be landed in a big trolling net.
