Of course thats why, of the fifty or so Sith war in the history of the Star Wars universe, the Republics score is something like 50-0. You had to infiltrate the Republic and bring it down from within in the end, and even that just got like 30 years of tyranny before you had your massive impractical superweapons blown up by a bunch of farm boy hicks piloting star fighters older then they were.

@BVargas78 cause its thousands of years before, and i know technology doesn't really evolve in star wars... but i think it's just a cheap way of getting fans of the movies who aren't into kotor into buying tor, i just think that they should look a bit more like the troops from that era. It's only a minor gripe that i have with this game when compared to what they are doing with revan... hopefully i am wrong, and it will do kotor justice... but i am not optimistic.

@liamjd1 I actually think it's well done as i was playing the beta and most republic troops are very lightly armoured. These only wear 'heavy' battle armour suits as they are an elite special unit. And i think it makes sense that the late republic would model it's own armour on what they had in the old republic.

The Roman Republic had always been kind of elitist (like pretty much every society except MAYBE Golden Age Athens up until the Enlightenment). @TheManPictMohawkGaul Different era. This takes place thousands of years before the Clone Wars, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, ect. These troopers are normal people, paid, have rights, ect. The armor only looks the same. It's just the art style of Star Wars that's carried pretty much throughout Star Wars, save for perhaps the comics taking place before KOTOR. Same reason for sounds and music. Like that starfighter at the beginning that sounded like a Tie Fighter. It's familiar to the non hardcore.
