@SoldierOfImmortality. I understand what you mean. I'm learning Korean for various reasons besides kpop/dramas even though I'll admit to liking them. I don't think it's retarded that popularity in those things are growing, but it is more or less when those are only reasons for learning. It's the same mentality as people who only learn Japanese for anime/Jpop when theres so much more to the culture. However regardless of what peoples reasons you don't have to call them idiots.

Well my solution for you justme8689 just sign up for the 2012 auditions at smtown.com once you've made the auditions they teach you Korean and Japanese then when you've learned the language they take you to Korea where you will debut as a model or musician dancer singer or just entertainment period I am twelve my sister is eighteen we auditioned to become singers

There's nothing wrong with learning Korean for their music and tv industry. It's a perfectly valid reason. THose people clearly have an interest in Korean culture, so sit the fuck down and mind your own business. I started learning Korean because of groups such as JYJ, SNSD and DBSK. I've been learning for about 6 months and I can already read, write, and speak the language. Not to mention I am doing Korean at my univeristy as an elective this year.

Once you have the learner repeat the same clusters you should have the pictograms show up again. Realia is very effective in teaching and learning, the more realia you have, the easier it will be to instruct and the learner will learn. I am a certified teacher of English, I will be in Seoul, spring of 2012. Good demonstration nevertheless as I am trying to learn Korean. It is a beautiful language!

@andyisasian13 It's typically hard for a native Korean speaker to differentiate between the English "L" and "R". To native English speakers the consonant "ㄹ" either sounds like an L or an R. When ㄹ is at the beginning of a "syllabic block" it sounds like and R and when it's at the end of a syllabic block it sounds like an "L".... (usually there are always exceptions in every language).

EX: 사랑하다 "saRanghada" (to love)

EX: 물 "muL" (water)
