love the sound. I just got a JLT cold air-intake, an SLP cat back with loudmouth 2 exhaust, shorty headers for my 2003 mach 1 (red and black), sounds great, also adding a new BBK throttle body to it in a couple weeks, all thanks to CJ Pony Parts in Harrisburg, Pa.
@lauraslook Cool, All should help. Be careful about throttle bodies. Most research shows that there is not a large performance increase for the money unless you are supercharged as well. Just something to think about.
@429mas It was just time for a change. I ended up buying a Truck. But now I'm back looking at mustangs. Probably going to get a 2011 or 2012 GT. I just hate the after axle mufflers so it should be fun to make one try and sound good.
@speedspeedspeed1 oh i see but remember that the mach will make history cause ford only manufactured them for only two years!!!!!!! 2012 gt huh awsome those cars have alot of stock hp equiped with 3.73 gears that's cool with skinnies and cai and tuned u should be able to run mid 12s @115 mph now that's fast with so little aftermarket parts!!!!!!
@speedspeedspeed1 oh and that's also music to my ears i love driving muscle cars with Flowmaster as long as it's a V8 cause they bring out the sound within V6 dont sound as loud!!!!!!!
@speedspeedspeed1 to me the flowmaster original 40s sound better at the idle than the super 44s but the super 44s sound better at the start up and rev!!!!! good job putting flowmaster on! i hate people who put on borla and say they sound better!
@jms35550 They both sound good but i'm sorta old school, The originals do more for me... Its personal Preference though. Check out my other exhaust Videos!
@1996CobraSVT Yes, it is welded but not to the factory pipes. I have new 2.5" H pipe from the manifolds back to the muffler connector which i bought new 2.5" connectors and bent them at the local shop. after the 2.5" mufflers, the pipe goes to SLP loudmouth LM1's tail pipes and tips. Kind of an odd combo but after changing my exhaust 8 times i finally found what i like. Always move up from the 2.25" factory pipe to 2.5" and get slp lm1 tails! Best exhaust EVER!
@dcaterjr20 Mac Performance Parts makes them.... You can buy them most places online just google mac exhaust products or something. I got mine from mustangs unlimited... its a mustang parts store here in Atlanta.
nice, cant wait to get my 03-04 gt by spring 2011. i will have the mac o/r h pipe and the american thunder exhaust sys. i will put vids up when i get it.
Did you have to get new gaskets for the H pipe or did the factory ones fit perfectly? I really want to get the MAC H like yours soon, nothing sounds that awesome! BTW does it drone while driving on the Freeway at 70-75mph?
@Blue03GT new gaskets came with the H-pipe... sorry for the late response. And it droans only as much as the mufflers allow. If your running flows it droans pretty good, but thats what i liked about flows.
did the filter help it breath better and did it make it any louder thanks love the car got one just like it lowered with black 18 in bulitts got to love the MACH
@mathwiz39 SLP LM 1s are loud but sound like shit. Should have gotten Borla Stingers, Magnapacks or SLP LM 2's in that order. Flows do sound better on the four valve but they are still pretty weak IMO. Although that is the wonderful thing about the Mustang. So many different set ups that appeal to different tastes.
Do you have 2.25" flowmasters or 2.50"? I ask because you said you have the stock tailpipes and I'm pretty sure they are 2.25" because I have the brochures for 2003 and 2004 mustangs.
From the Manifolds to the mid-pipe are 2.25" inches. From the Mid pipe to the mufflers are 2.5" inches. From the mufflers to the tips are 2.25". Strange I know... but it adds to the sound... And no performance loss.
Thanks, Let me correct something I previously said. I was at work when I answered this and was pre-occupied and not really thinking lol.. From Manifold collector to the Muffler inlets is 2.5" and from mufflers to tips is 2.25".
Do you mean the fact that its Stainless Steel or the fact that its off road... or both? If you mean because its offroad, Yes it will be much louder. If you mean because its stainless, No.
an E cam is a push rod cam for the old 5.0L ... this is a Overhead Cam Engine... But I understand what you mean. Love the lope of the ole 5.0's... Its possible with the new mod engines but it cost lots of $
Thanks, I appreciate it. haha, funny u say that i can totally appreciate that situation. I just graduted from college and got a good job. I used to play with a 96 cobra while in school. Its not easy going to school and having an expensive hobby like cars. Anyway, goodluck to you.
I love the drone, but thats me. And honestly I want a little more drone but when i changed the tips to some slant cut 3 1/2" it sounded like ass so i went back to stock. Only car I've ever put tips on that changed any sound of exhaust... don't ask i don't know... The mach 1 tips are weird... thick as hell and multilayered... i dunno... strange
i have a '89 5.0 and i'm looking to get a mach 1 myself. my car's got full bolt ons. i found a nice one but it's auto. should i keep looking until i find one with stick? is it worth it?
Absolutely! The TR-3650 5-speed is to die for with 3.55's... with a 3.38 first and 2.00 second gear its scarey with stock tires... plus i get 25 miles to the gallon and give stock 03-04 cobras a run for their money to the top of 3rd gear with nothing but a drop in K&N filter and offroad h/flowmasters... Autos lose 25% hp through the drivetrain, and sticks only lose 15%... in my opinion def wait for a stick...
Aside from the HP loss, you'll regret an auto... in my opinion because the manuals are just so much fun to drive... :-D ... no offense to any auto guys out there... I used to have one and we're not all perfect... ;)

Is this with the Flowmasters welded into the stock exhaust? Or is it a full catback?

@1996CobraSVT Same question for your vid of the 96 Cobra. Both sound good btw.

speedspeedspeed1 1 year ago
@1996CobraSVT Yes, it is welded but not to the factory pipes. what does it change if instead of a 21/2 pipe u used a 31/2 pipe??
nightmare3428 2 years ago
3.5 is way overkill on a n/a car. you could have 500+ whp on a supercharged mustang and 2.5 would be suffice.
mynameismike65 2 years ago
lack of backpressure thus loss of hp.
