  • Haha, this is pretty cool: Search for the song Breadcrumb Trail by Slint.. at 1:10 min in that song, the climax is very similar to the climax in like herod

  • @vietcongfistalpha1 I suggest "Washer" by Slint instead. The climax is even more orgasmic.

  • Incredible song off an incredible album

  • Woah, Mogwai uses distortion? I had no idea. Love this though!

  • Loving the bass <3

  • Great. Maybe you should listen to NUCLEODAMA.

  • Magnificent. Epic. Not enough adjectives for this.

  • i think its incomplete

    great song though

  • @Sietenuevas Yeah this definitely isn't the full version. Not that I'm an expert. heard it for the first time today at my dad's tattoo shop, but I know for a FACT that it ended more intense than this.

  • @TheRealFatassFilms There's two versions of this song - this one and one call Like Herod (Jazz Up). I have the latter, which has a much longer, more distorted ending.

  • @RatchetSly Oh, word. That must be the one we have at the shop then. Makes sense. Thanks.

  • This song scares the shit out of me!

  • Boo on whoever disliked this video, it's one if their best songs.

  • one of the few albums that i really agree with pitchfork on...9.2 out of 10, so solid

  • You can hear the influence of Slint VERY clearly in this song, I'm glad I'm not the only person who noticed. :3

  • @Gosu117 I read interview to John who said that the former title was "Slint" but they decided to change it because they thought the citation was too clear

  • @fenderjbr Oh wow, that's cool I didn't know that. Regardless of the name of the song, it's really awesome.

  • What a just mindblowing song

  • try the sons of tool and pink floyd haha

  • Would be perfect for some David Lynch movie.

  • @clioclio73 It's not subtle enough.

  • A touch of Nine Inch Nails perhaps?

  • One of the most essential post-rock songs EVER, no matter what you think of Mogwai.

  • I like Herod.

  • The grandson of slint

  • @leroykimbo mogwai has always reminded me of slint .

  • @townshipps

This has definatly got shades of spiderland in it.

  • @townshipps I believe that this song was actually originally titled "Slint" and sorta mirrors their "Good Morning, Captain" song.

  • excelente!

  • This is the album art to "Kicking a Dead Pig".

  • I shit myself at 3:00.

  • @cinnawaffls I shit myself at 3:00 every time I listen to this song!

  • @StayComposed how often do you listen to it?

  • @musicforchewfaygs Every day. It helps clear my bowels when I get home.

  • sounds almost joy division-ey for the first couple minutes.. very very nice

  • the outbreak is fantastic

  • Saw them do this live about ten tears ago, and when the loud bit kicked in, it made blood burst out of my nose. Oh hang on, that was the back of the head of the person in front of me which caused that... Genius tune!

  • The thing about this song is that it's totally different live. Well, it's still like a crazy wall of sound, but the feedback somehow loops directly into your brain and makes sounds that just don't exist on the CD, or anywhere else!

I saw them perform this live in '98 when only John Peel knew about them, and it's still a treasured memory (even though Stuart Braithwaite bumped into me when he left the stage and I got covered in his sweat!)

  • I love the way I can never quite remember where that fuck off loud part is about to kick off.

  • this song live is one of the best things i have ever experiences. WALL OF SOUND. crashing into your chest. so good.

  • like psychedelic stuff but with more compressors :))

  • At 2:58 I almost shitted myself. It was that good.

  • This was a proof of music that can touch your emotion... (sry the english i'm italian :P)

  • And your bowels!

  • this song was used in Top Gear (s11e01 20:01)

  • @DJMatthew69 Top Gear has kick ass music! Always hear a bit of Aphex on it!

  • My new ambition is to see this band live and drown in the pure insidious noise of this song.

  • A great song! Stoning and full of power.

  • artistic creativity at its finest

  • It's not just creativity, there is also the ability to express such creativity :D

  • Not many people understand that dynamic in art. Well said my friend

  • wonderful outbursts

  • This song has incredible Harmonic Power and energy.

its soooo mood setting and subtle , the moments in here where it gets very still and quiet are powerful starting at 2:20

  • And the ambassadors of awsomeness!

  • yea grew up with these lads thay live about ware i come from i record in the same studio ware this album was made in hamilton burnbank

  • The sons of Pink Floyd and Sonic Youth!

  • ...and the cousins of Sigur Ros

  • a harder rocking, english version of sigur ros... yes i agree

  • They're Scottish, not English.

  • ....and the half-brothers of Slint

  • @PERSONIFICATIONOFYAY only a gazillion times better (at least until rock action)

  • @Tak3TheVeil I thought rock action was pretty damn good :(

  • @thischarmingmartin And the regrettably accidental fathers of the Red Sparowes

  • @thischarmingmartin distant cousins, that is

  • @thischarmingmartin except sigur ros is way overrated, while this band needs more recognition...

  • @LuxeXx sigur ros are not overrated, mogwai are just underrated

  • This statement is true.

  • And the grandsons of Adolf Hitler!
