A queen was submissive and he did put his foot down with her. And yes, Mary Tudor did say to her:"There is no queen but my mother." and referred to Anne as "The whore." Because the fact is, that is what she was. Interestingly though, "The Whore" bore the greatest monarch in British history!

Secondly Katherine did no such thing but to teach her daughter to mind her faith. On that note the distrust the two had for Protesantism was completely reasonable. Even Martin Luther was against Henry marrying Anne because it made a joke of the reformation and helped carry out the stigma that it was a corrupt and evil movement.

The amount of Protesants she killed does not even come close to the amount of Catholics killed by Henry or Elizabeth. Anne caused the split from Rome that lead to the persecution of thousands of Catholics and those who would not accept Henry's supremacy. If you're going to give the harlot credit for other events in Henry's reign she also gets credit for the bad. Why do people judge Anne so harshly? You can't really base a judgement on someone who lived 500 years ago through tv programmes that aren't historically accurate and also, life was different back then. Anne couldn't see into the future, she didn't realise Henry would want a divorce from Catherine. She was only trying to prolong Henry's interests so she wouldn't end up discarded like her sister. She didn't control Henry.

I can understand the reaction that she had. Any young woman would (in our present time anyway a mistress is a much different situation, marriages back then were mostly political, her parents marriage was over in the emotional sense before Anne even showed up) probably do the same exact thing.
