I sincerely doubt this scene in reality ever took place! Not even Henry had balls nor smarts to talk back to Anne let alone this little s_ _t and in what fashion.Sorry Mary, one pro-catholic show can't wash away the historic dirt you left beside your name.
@BoxyTheSpaceDog Actually, Henry did. Anne's fiery nature was only amusing to him when she was his mistress. Yes he loved her for a short time, but she was no queen to him. A queen was submissive and he did put his foot down with her. And yes, Mary Tudor did say to her:"There is no queen but my mother." and referred to Anne as "The whore." Because the fact is, that is what she was. Interestingly though, "The Whore" bore the greatest monarch in British history!
@Nadesiko85 That is so horrible. I mean, Henry was a stupid asshole, but I can't believe he would be capable of getting his own daughter killed... at least she showed a lot of love for Elizabeth I and also showed a lot of love for his wife Jane Seymour, that died. But that's all so awful... :/
Yeah right,Mary loved Elisabeth so much that she held her imprisoned in the Tower for 8 months awaiting trial and most possibly execution, lol.Elisabeth than was only 14 but Mary didn't mind cutting her head off as shed did to 9 days Queen Jane.Mary did however hang more than 150 plotters to overthrow her(on top of burning 300 Protestant priests,God knows how many followers)while Elisabeth was saved by the letter she wrote and exile in France.catholic faith=heresy!
@BoxyTheSpaceDog Hm... I don't remember talking to you before. Haven't you accidentally click to respond me when you intended to respond someone else?
What gets to me is: why all the women there get angry at each other BUT NEVER GET ANGRY AT HENRY??? He is the man-whore there who destroys the lives of everybody.
Instead of being a bitch to Anne, Mary Tudor should be a bitch to her father too. >:/
@valericool Lol. True. But remember 2 things: 1)Woman were nothing more than possessions. 2)Henry was the King and sadly, the kings wishes are law (stupid, I know). also, since her parents divorce, Mary life was constantly on the line. At any moment his dad could choose to kill her
In 1536, after Anne's execution, Mary was still forced BY HER FATHER to acknowledge herself as illegitimate and to repudiate the catholic church. Everything is his fault; he is the catalyst for everything
Wow this is rich! The whore seeking validation from the royal princess through blackmail. Mary was definitely her mother's daughter for the courage and dignity she exhibited.
also.. If you read actual historical books and autobigoraphies, Anne was far worse than she is depcited in the Tudors. She actively encouraged Anne Shelton to grind Mary into the ground and had her under house arrest at Hatfield. She told them to box mary's ears if she was obstinate. Henry planned to visit Mary to talk through things with her and Anne sent someone after him on his way to Hatfield to tell him not to, so terrified was she that he might be kind to his own daughter Mary.
Yet she was half Spanish, lol. At least Anne was of Royal blood from mothers side.Just because Tudors are pro-Catholic show doesn't mean Katherine was so good as person! In series a big mistake was made between her connections and of her daughter Mary.In reality til her death Katherine was in contact with Mary, instructing her in hate towards the Protestant faith. That will later be put into action when Mary forcefully takes the throne.
@BoxyTheSpaceDog I am sorry but what? Katherine was a Princess from Spain. I don't think there is any mistaking that..so she was all Royal Blood. Secondly Katherine did no such thing but to teach her daughter to mind her faith. On that note the distrust the two had for Protesantism was completely reasonable. Even Martin Luther was against Henry marrying Anne because it made a joke of the reformation and helped carry out the stigma that it was a corrupt and evil movement.
I meant when Katherine became Queen(user was talking of her as Queen). She wasn't purely English(as was favorited in that time-for English Queen to be of English, not other nation's Royal blood). She in last 7 years didn't teach her to mind her faith! If she did Mary wouldn't do those things she did when she came to power! Her nickname was "Bloody Mary"-I wonder why?To come to throne she beheaded ruling heir ("9 days Queen Jane") which was only 16 and her King!
@BoxyTheSpaceDog What does that have to do with anything? Mary got the name "Bloody Mary" because of John Foxes Protesant propoganda published during the reign of Elizabeth. The amount of Protesants she killed does not even come close to the amount of Catholics killed by Henry or Elizabeth. Jane Grey was killed because Protesants forced Mary's hand by conspiraring to put her on the throne.Similar to Elizabeth killing Mary of Scots. FYI Protesant Propoganda is not a good place to learn History.
@BoxyTheSpaceDog Nonono. I think you got it wrong. You really need to read more about the life of Mary and Katherine. I think then you´ll understand the things they did. And Henry and Elizabeth killed far more people than Mary did and Elizabeth killed her cousing, Mary Queen of Scots. But this is not to argue which one is better but to read and know the history and understand why they acted the way they did. Ether of them are saints
@BoxyTheSpaceDog So Mary isn't royal blood? She is the only true legitimate child. Of Katherine and Henry. So.. Really? She is royal. Anne is a whore.
We were talking about Katherine of Aragon-Henry's first wife(how in England was more desirable for Queen to be of English royalty, not the foreign-like Spanish in her case).Read users comments with better understanding if you gonna reply.
Also how can someone be a whore if they were virgin when they married and never had anyone else but their husband? As it was case with Anne.Anne's also half royal and would have made far better Queen if time allowed and if she had self rule as Mary(religiously crazed murdering Catholic whore).Anne was smarter, more involved in social and international life(for those 3 years of her rule) than Mary ever was.Check out what she did for her people and how England was left after her.
@BoxyTheSpaceDog Using stolen words from valericool, are we? Haha. If you comment in a public feed, you are allowing people to address to you... Your Majesty
@BoxyTheSpaceDog Maybe you should read up on historical books and autobiographies. Anne was far worse than she is displayed in The Tudors. She is no saint. Mary is royal blood. Spanish or english. All is true royal. You can't deny that. I have never had any sympathy for Anne Boleyn at all.
I read everything about Mary and Anne prior to watching the series, lol.I am now on season 3 ending. How was Anne worse?Did she have people executed or religious followers burned at stake, did she initiate any wars, did she make any enemies during her rule, was she unfaithful to her husband, did she do any of the things she was accused and executed for-NO!Mary Tudor along with Henry 8-th was worst ruler of England in that era!She ruled just out of religious revenge! She was bitter evil
@BoxyTheSpaceDog Apparently not because you're completly ignorant on the subject. Anne caused the split from Rome that lead to the persecution of thousands of Catholics and those who would not accept Henry's supremacy. If you're going to give the harlot credit for other events in Henry's reign she also gets credit for the bad. As a Queen Consort though she had little real power which is why she found herself executed when Henry felt betrayed. LOL Anne Made lots of enemies
Also just to finish off with you:Mary was guided by her mother that died bitter death. She was to be next in line to the throne. She had Elizabeth(her half/sister)accused of plotting to overthrow her at only14years of age, penalty was death!Elisabeth fled the country for 15 years.Until bitch died as bitter, sad as her mother did.All she did during her rule was extract revenge on Protestants.Country was left poor, neglected,in debt.Great ruler she was, burned so many, achieved nothing.
@BoxyTheSpaceDog I am sorry but what? You're not saying anything that is remotely true. First off Mary's reign was for only 5 years. Elizabeth didn't flee the country. Mary ruling only 5 years had a very turbulent reign there is no doubt about that. Your anger at people who had done no wrong like Katherine and Mary is quite disgusting. Although I wouldn't expect less from someone who doesn't know their facts and idolizes a homewrecker.
@BoxyTheSpaceDog That´s true, but I think KoA acted -most of the time- with dignity and like what she tough a true christian should act. Remember that religion was a big part part of people life at that time and there where no gray zones. Or you are "this" and you are right or you are "that" and you are wrong. KoA was not the only fervent one about her faith, but granted, Mary became almost obsessed later on but I think it was because her faith kept her alive trough all the crap she lived
@Pilapp To think she came from a long line of Kings and Queens. The most "pure" blood in Europe. All her sibling Kings and Queens and all this showed in her actions and in her life. To think she died alone and poor, rejected
Let's not confuse the Tudors with real history. The English people absolutely hated Anne and historical accounts support that. Anne Boleyn did indeed threaten to have Princess Mary's ears boxed and whip her if the King ever left. She was beyond cruel to Mary. She only tried to befriend her when she realized that many of her former supporters and many enemies abroad STILL supported Princess Mary. Expecting a girl to accept her father's mistress was quite ridiculous.
Why do people judge Anne so harshly? You can't really base a judgement on someone who lived 500 years ago through tv programmes that aren't historically accurate and also, life was different back then. Anne couldn't see into the future, she didn't realise Henry would want a divorce from Catherine. She was only trying to prolong Henry's interests so she wouldn't end up discarded like her sister. She didn't control Henry.
It was because Princess Mary I was favored by the English people , Anne actually was hated so if Mary could go back to court Anne would be more favored :D
If Mary were smarter and more politically astute she would have just swallowed her pride and condescended to Anne. Anne was Queen. There was nothing Mary could do. In the end she ended up signing herself to submission in order to save her life any way so what's the difference? Her life would have been happier.
Actually, she was vindicated by Anne's own downfall within a couple of years. How would it have looked if she endorsed a soon to be disgraced queen AND rejected the status of her own mother? The people would have lost all respect for her, as they never really liked Anne, anyway. For Mary, it was more politically astute to rally the people around her by continuing to reject the already despised Anne.
I think Anne and Mary are both at fault...Anne for forcing Mary apart from her father to make Mary accept a scandelous marriage and Mary for not showing a little compassion for a woman very much like her, with strong religious beliefs who was played as a pawn by her father.
In reality anne treated her like crap and i never really understood why mary was treated so harshly..hello marys the victom. im glad jane was kind to her. maybe too late, because as we all know..mary became bloody mary.
@chykim1 Yes, I don´t understand how can people side with Anne! I mean, she broke a marriege, she is the reason of all Katherine pain and misery till her dead, she mistreated Mary when she was just a child... I mean, she was clearly not a nice person. Why do people like her?
@selfsmartgal What do I have to hate on? Obviously you read my comment or you wouldn't have replied to it in the first place. But "nice" try attempting to look "bad azz" or whatever it is you internet trolls say these days.
@selfsmartgal You do know Henry VIII killed way more people then Mary and Elizabeth killed a lot of people to. Divorce for me? If it weren't for Elizabeth and that whore that spit her out thousands of people millions maybe wouldn't have been enslaved and uprooted from their homes. But I should be grateful for divorce? You're so fucking stupid.
@selfsmartgal Uh, how would you know if she was really a virgin or not? Just because you ignore any flaws to someone does not deem it "un important" I doubt if you were the true Queen aka Catherine or her daughter Mary it would hardly be "un important" the only joke here is that you are so passionately enraged that someone dislike Anne. Point is, her daughter did bad things as well and had more than TWICE as long to rule as Mary. That is a fact. Any woman CAN BARE a child. Get a GRIP.
@selfsmartgal Yea and I bet the slaves your beloved Elizabeth had imported would disagree with you. Or the free people she expelled because there were(in her own words) to many n****** in England. And Anne gets no credit for how Elizabeth turned out she didn't even raise her. All she did was have a kid any woman can do that. Why doesn't Henry get any credit? Oh wait that's the only good thing you can find about Anne. Because she was nothing but a whore and you know it.
@CARRIEMARIA Catherine could have lived a better life if she would just do what Henry asked her to. But she stuck in her position for Mary´s sake and now comes Anne and expects her to betray her mother. Obvioulsy she knows nothing about loyalty
@caityfuzzycookie I think she only did that because she could clearly see it was in her best interest and also, to help herself feel better about been just a mistress. I don´t understand how can some people like Anne and try to make her look good. I really want to understand what is it about her that make people like her despite everything she plotted and messed everything up
@caityfuzzycookie I'm sorry, I don't want to sound edgy or sarcastic, but how can you say that? At least nothing. Anne destroyed Mary's life. She was responsible for her mother's divorce and death [Catherine died of a heart attack, no doubt from stress and grief], what's more, she was, also, responsible for Mary's estrangement from her father. True, Henry was a lose cannon, but at least he used to be loving to Mary, until Anne entered the picture.
@caityfuzzycookie I would rather say that Anne tried to stop Mary from being a threat to her. Anne always feared Katherine and Mary for they were the only obstacle between Anne and Elizabeth and the throne. So if Mary had acknowledged Anne as Queen, she would have given up the throne for herself.
@caityfuzzycookie I don't think that she would've kept her word. I believe that she meant this more as an insult and a humiliation to both Katherine and her daughter or a way to humble Mary in to submission.
@rlucero8335 Shut up you're so irritating God. Anne was a homewrecker who went after a married man. So if you think that makes her "pious" then you're stupid. Catherine held out to the title of Queen so Mary wouldn't become a bastard. Katherine was really queen not Anne. And what does their education have to do with this? It's not Catherine's fault. Who's really stupid again? You.
@rlucero8335 she is called "Bloddy Mary" because the Elizabetian and anglican propaganda..Henry and Elizabeth kill thousands ( not only 300 like mary) in Ireland and in other place or for other reasons...
what Mary did obviously was wrong, but she did that all the monarchs ( catholics or protestants) did kill the oposition...
I can understand the reaction that she had. Any young woman would (in our present time anyway a mistress is a much different situation, marriages back then were mostly political, her parents marriage was over in the emotional sense before Anne even showed up) probably do the same exact thing. These two historically hated eachother BUT Mary took it out the worst of Elizabeth...I would also like to think us Anglican girls kick ass as well without Anne, no Elizabeth I.
I love this video because Mary puts Anne in her place. And Mary is right, there was no true queen of England except her mother Katherine of Aragon. Anne was never truly queen, she was just Henry's plaything.
But your faith is-herecy!It's head is in Rome, same country whose judges prosecuted and whose military hunted down and killed Jesus and many of his followers(even after his death) and now you claim to love him and worship him???Ha,Ha,Ha no one's stupid, lol. Also your faith was founded on murder and stealing of wealth from many other nations, was involved in support of many bloody wars(even in Tudors)that fact was mentioned. So as your faith is as it is-I piss on it!
@the4beautiful How was tht rude? Had it been me i would have slapped anne in the mouth! You have to remember that in realiy anne treated her like crap and i never really understood why mary was treated so harshly..hello marys the victom.

@rlucero8335 You really need to revise your history. Especially if you are going to make comments like that.

@selfsmartgal What do I have to hate on? Obviously you read my comment or you wouldn't have replied to it in the first place. But "nice" try attempting to look "bad azz" or whatever it is you internet trolls say these days.
VisionsEnchanted 3 months ago
@selfsmartgal You do know Henry VIII killed way more people then Mary and Elizabeth killed a lot of people to. Divorce for me? If it weren't for Elizabeth and that whore that spit her out thousands of people millions maybe wouldn't have been enslaved and uprooted from their homes. But I should be grateful for divorce? You're so fucking stupid.
xlovexothersxalsox 3 months ago
@selfsmartgal Uh, how would you know if she was really a virgin or not? Just because you ignore any flaws to someone does not deem it "un important" I doubt if you were the true Queen aka Catherine or her daughter Mary it would hardly be "un important" the only joke here is that you are so passionately enraged that someone dislike Anne. Point is, her daughter did bad things as well and had more than TWICE as long to rule as Mary. That is a fact. Any woman CAN BARE a child. Get a GRIP.
VisionsEnchanted 3 months ago
Now that is too much of a sucker punch move, even for Mary to make.

i'm surprised anne boleyn couldn't think of how to respond.
phantomwaltz 3 months ago
@selfsmartgal Yea and I bet the slaves your beloved Elizabeth had imported would disagree with you. Or the free people she expelled because there were(in her own words) to many n****** in England. And Anne gets no credit for how Elizabeth turned out she didn't even raise her. All she did was have a kid any woman can do that. Why doesn't Henry get any credit? Oh wait that's the only good thing you can find about Anne. Because she was nothing but a whore and you know it.

really she expects her to betray her own mother. I hate Ann.
CARRIEMARIA 3 months ago
@CARRIEMARIA Catherine could have lived a better life if she would just do what Henry asked her to. But she stuck in her position for Mary´s sake and now comes Anne and expects her to betray her mother. Obvioulsy she knows nothing about loyalty

@rlucero8335 yes saint Anne boleyn...come on..!!!
astrofabio68 3 months ago
@caityfuzzycookie I think she only did that because she could clearly see it was in her best interest and also, to help herself feel better about been just a mistress. I don´t understand how can some people like Anne and try to make her look good. I really want to understand what is it about her that make people like her despite everything she plotted and messed everything up
Nadesiko85 2 months ago 2
@caityfuzzycookie I'm sorry, I don't want to sound edgy or sarcastic, but how can you say that? At least nothing. Anne destroyed Mary's life. She was responsible for her mother's divorce and death [Catherine died of a heart attack, no doubt from stress and grief], what's more, she was, also, responsible for Mary's estrangement from her father. True, Henry was a lose cannon, but at least he used to be loving to Mary, until Anne entered the picture.
Rayarena 2 months ago 12
@caityfuzzycookie I would rather say that Anne tried to stop Mary from being a threat to her. Anne always feared Katherine and Mary for they were the only obstacle between Anne and Elizabeth and the throne. So if Mary had acknowledged Anne as Queen, she would have given up the throne for herself.
Schaetzchen95 2 months ago 2
@caityfuzzycookie I don't think that she would've kept her word. I believe that she meant this more as an insult and a humiliation to both Katherine and her daughter or a way to humble Mary in to submission.

@rlucero8335 Shut up you're so irritating God. Anne was a homewrecker who went after a married man. So if you think that makes her "pious" then you're stupid. Catherine held out to the title of Queen so Mary wouldn't become a bastard. Katherine was really queen not Anne. And what does their education have to do with this? It's not Catherine's fault. Who's really stupid again? You.

@rlucero8335 she is called "Bloddy Mary" because the Elizabetian and anglican propaganda..Henry and Elizabeth kill thousands ( not only 300 like mary) in Ireland and in other place or for other reasons...
what Mary did obviously was wrong, but she did that all the monarchs ( catholics or protestants) did kill the oposition...
astrofabio68 3 months ago
I can understand the reaction that she had. Any young woman would (in our present time anyway a mistress is a much different situation, marriages back then were mostly political, her parents marriage was over in the emotional sense before Anne even showed up) probably do the same exact thing. These two historically hated eachother BUT Mary took it out the worst of Elizabeth...I would also like to think us Anglican girls kick ass as well without Anne, no Elizabeth I.

love both of them but mary rocks in this scene !
