I have converted my summit to air suspension because the camera that use got shook about but now it means i can adjust the ride height on the move and the car handles allot better the air springs are quite a good upgrade but you have to build the system from scratch and it takes several weeks and the wiring is a nightmare so only convert it if you defiantly want it

The standard Summit is brushed and 100% waterproof, not ballistic fast, but if 100% waterproof and max fun is more important than speed then you'd best buy the brushed, I've yet to see anyone make a brushless waterproof conversion of a Summit!

yes it survived all that and more, you should see the out takes, I had to go swim for it once because I threw it in upside down!

Traxxas just have to cover their arses when selling stuff, if they sold it as a submarine someone would buy one that leaked slightly and sue them cos it blew up!

during the water part, the rear suspension looked completely flat, did you do something to it? or did it just not recover yet?

Straight out of the box and into the lake, the rear suspension settings were low so we adjusted for pre-load and ride height afterwards.

@Uttelito you can put a thin bead of clear silicone or use liquid electrical tape around the seals and on the ESC too...granted it doesnt do much for the output shafts on servos but all in all it does help out alot.

@TheOffroader76 that Traxxas Summit was straight out of the box, handled water and LiPo no problem at all, it is specified as such, I think you have your wires crossed somewhere.

@TheOffroader76 I removed most of my electronics and ran a thin bead of silicone around the cases just to add a little more water resistance to them. another way is to use "liquid eletrical tape" comes in a can and brushes on like a vinyl over coat. Removal is fairly easy too.

i agree with bestamerica about not running my trucks in water because i used to and i broke my titan 775, 2 steering servos a couple shifting servos and diff servos so now i got a hitec servo thats not waterproof so now if i drive it in the water i will loose a 70$ servo

Yup that was box stock, just slapped in a pair of LiPo from Max Amps and away it went! Loved that Truck, would like one myself! But had to give it back after the test.

No unfortunately they still rust.. I spray mine down with Armor All or Turtle wax to counter the rusty bits. seems to work well.i just spray it on and let it air dry. Certaintly looks pretty afterwards.

Yeah box stock with a couple of Max Amps LiPo stuck in it. I tightened the rear springs a bit after watching this video though, about half the preload available.

No they are all quite happy completely submerged, not a problem, it's only sensor cables and delicate stuff like that which would get upset by being damp, not power cables or balance leads.

Seriously, the voltage is too low, I have a Charged 3S LiPo from Max Amps in my hand right now, in a bucket of water, balance leads and all, and it's fine. the Max Amps range are guarenteed waterproof, that's why I used them for that review and action video!

Glad you liked it, but seriously it really is that waterproof, the batteries are waterproof LiPo too, everything is sealed, even the bearings. We did this because it can do it, like nothing else I've ever come across.

hey give me a tube of silicone and ill do that with my nitro t-maxx no problem...

i modified the wheels on my t-maxx which were from a savage to have valves so i could inflate the tires as the saggy tires work with savage not with t maxx so i can pump my wheels up im pretty sure it would float!

Why dont you do it just carry a co2 canister with the right nozzle in your pocket and you can adjust pressure as needed......

no they'd work just fine but eventually the metal cans of the cells and the insulators between neg and pos terminals would corrode.
