@superpikachu11 Well considering he's trying to achieve the opposite of what your character wants, battles you on multiple occasions and in the long run isn't really a bad guy I'd say he is a rival.

@janfeyen9 Red was the original. Ash was the character they put in the Pokemon anime that was supposed to be like Red, although ash just turned out horribly and Red is still awesome.

So Red is was the first guy, So why isn't he in the new games, and what's wrong with Ash, I mean I don't really think Ash is great but horrible why?

@janfeyen9 Because after the events of Red/Blue/Yellow, Red stayed in Mt. Silver to train. If you beat Gold/Silver/Crystal you get to fight him. So I guess you could say the newer games are even further in the future than Generation III. And, Ash is just... well, Red is just way better, and I'm not a fan of Ash.
