Other reviewers take note on this guy.Opening minute of his vid was done RIGHT. 1) He's SHOWING you well known knives of similar size BUT...2) his voice is delivering interesting information NOT directly related to the pictures on screen. He's respecting his viewers by cramming twice the info in the same time frame. I was a pro news & documentary producer for a long time. On purpose or not, this guy has demonstrated some skills .
Really appreciate your knife videos; relaxed but very informative. Nice shout-out to MrDagon007, too. My Exskelibur 2 is one of my favorite pocket knives for city carry, but I removed the clip, as I do with most of my pocket knives. Makes the knife lines cleaner, and pocket knives belong in my pocket, IMO. The Exskelimoor 2 is also begging to be added to my collection; the design of this Boker line and the Elegance series is too sleek to ignore.
I must be lucky, mine came razor sharp and butter smooth right out of the box. It is not for heavy duty use, purely a gentlemen's knife but it will do in a pinch.
This design was way too excellent for production to be farmed out to China...... Boker should have stuck with the Taiwan factories for production of the plus series knives... My Boker Los Banos Trance is spot on... The lockup of the framelock, the sharpness of the spine jimping, Torx fastener construction, ect... I absolutely love this Skellern design... Oh how i wish this had been picked up by Kershaw and made in their Oregon plant... It would have cost 75 bucks and sold like Hotcakes...
Mike Skellern, designer of the original Burger, contacted me regarding my concerns about the liner moving to the right, like yours. I thought that was cool of him. Since the knife is under warranty for a year, I'm keeping it. Can always send it back if the liner-lock issue turns out to be a real problem.
It is not a trainsmash for the locking spring tip to move a little to the right during 'bedding in' the tip/blade does wear but normally takes years or normal use to wear significantly - Mike Skellern
@mikeskellern - thanks so much for stopping by and giving some input on this topic. It's very nice to hear from the maker himself. Also thanks for giving us this great knife design as well!
Hate to say it, but the liner-lock of my Exskelibur 1 continues its march to the right. With a hand lens I can see definite wear on the back of the blade, and, what I believe to be, metal particles around the pivot area. Perhaps 440C just can't stand up to titanium. I assume the n690 of the original Burger EXK1 can. Have you heard of anyone else with this problem?
The liner lock of my Exskelibur 1 is creeping to the right also, and I haven't used it at except for opening and closing it a gazillion times. Off putting, but still...this is one sweet knife. Sensual.
@FTA4evr hey, thats a bummer to hear really. I've used mine a good bit more and the liner gets sticky sometimes when trying to close it, but it's still a solid lock up ,so I'm cool.
Thanks to you and Mr Dagon, this seems to be a Boker year for me. Have the Trance DP and just ordered the Exskelibur 1. Boker certainly has some interesting and affordable blades.
@oromoto@oromoto - thats funny. I was just looking at Anso's blog and then noticed you got one! haha will be curious to see how the Haddock stacks up.
@Severator I love Anso's knife. Beefy and solid. Kinda pricey but trust me, the value is there and whenever you need to sell it, it'll be gone in seconds.
@captainkid1 -yah I noticed the blade was not centered, but it didnt rub or anything so I was fine with that. It's prolly not the top end of the QC :) It's ok tho, I still like it.
@nycdave212 -thx man, Yah you know how it is I'm sure,. You buy enough knives at any price point or maker and you'll get one that takes some time to get right.

@rainmechanic interesting points. I agree that the knife afi would've happily paid a bit more for the qc of Oregon KAI.

Also, yours seems to have a lot of room between the blade and the handles.
Maybe you got a lemon?
