Wow! Stanlee lived for 14 years! I have three ferrets, all 4.5 - 5 years old. They are still *very* active and healthy, but I never thought 10 more years was possible. Do you have any advice? Had he ever gotten sick? I'm curious to know what his life was like, that he lived such a long time.

I do think chlorene would be a bad idea because ferrets don't think to close their eyes when they are in the water, and I know mine at least try to drink any kind of water put before them, whether it's good, soft (salty), or full of soap. U_U Chlorene water would definitely give them a tummy ache! Maybe worse, depending on how much they got!

Please don't put your ferrets in the pool. There is a ton of chlorine in pool water that is harmful to living creatures when ingested, inhaled, or when it gets into the eyes.
He is not swimming because he wants. He is swimming out of necessity, and is obviously not enjoying it, considering he's making a beeline for the side rather than playing in the water.
LOL, all the water we drink is chlorinated. It is good for a ferret to get out and work out. I would say he is obviously enjoying it. Looks like a little ferret smile going there.

First of all, ferrets know how to swim, mine swim all the time. Second, I'm sure that if anything went wrong, the owner would go out and help the ferret. And another thing, this is good exercise for a ferret. Chlorinated water is very, very bad for ferrets. Not to mention that the pool is too deep for him to be in safely. If you want to give him a fun time to "swim" fill a tub so that it's about 4 - 5 inches near the drain and 1 - 2 at the other end so he can put his feet down if he wants to.
notice, if the ferret was at all scared he/she would be swimming towards the camera to try to grab onto something. ive also read that ferrets are family of the otter wich i dont doubt. they look very similar. I let my ferret swim in the tub all the time.

This reply is a bit late, but....
I do think chlorene would be a bad idea because ferrets don't think to close their eyes when they are in the water, and I know mine at least try to drink any kind of water put before them, whether it's good, soft (salty), or full of soap. U_U Chlorene water would definitely give them a tummy ache! Maybe worse, depending on how much they got!

Please don't put your ferrets in the pool. There is a ton of chlorine in pool water that is harmful to living creatures when ingested, inhaled, or when it gets into the eyes.
He is not swimming because he wants. He is swimming out of necessity, and is obviously not enjoying it, considering he's making a beeline for the side rather than playing in the water.
This is not cute or enjoyable. This is cruel.

First of all, ferrets know how to swim, mine swim all the time. Second, I'm sure that if anything went wrong, the owner would go out and help the ferret. And another thing, this is good exercise for a ferret. Chlorinated water is very, very bad for ferrets. Not to mention that the pool is too deep for him to be in safely. If you want to give him a fun time to "swim" fill a tub so that it's about 4 - 5 inches near the drain and 1 - 2 at the other end so he can put his feet down if he wants to.

notice, if the ferret was at all scared he/she would be swimming towards the camera to try to grab onto something. ive also read that ferrets are family of the otter wich i dont doubt. they look very similar. I let my ferret swim in the tub all the time.

yea the tub is cool but not a pool where 1 they cant rest at thier own will and 2 ferrets skin is sensitive if you cant even wash them with human shampoo imagine what the harmful clorophine and other pool crap can do especially when you put your ferret in that long.
