But why I am pro-choice? is because I believe the fetus haven't developed enough in the early years to have feelings, emotions and stuff. So by removing that would only be as removing the potential of life and if you're against that then you're argument also works for mandatory mass orgies all over the world. Why would an abortion be painful? Fetuses don't feel pain until after 24 weeks and abortions performed after that always involve an injection to cause fetal death before they are evacuated.
I hope people realise that the ultrasound in this video is far past the point that it would be aborted. They usually have very little resemblance to anything living when they are aborted.

I think the basis of this argument is wrong: It's much simpler to claim killing is wrong because if it wasn't, society wouldn't be able to function properly, rather than life has value and future. That being said, abortion is a tricky subject.

The only reason murder is wrong is because it's against moral code, morality which has been established mutually in most cultures to promote self-preservation. Killing somebody isn't theft... it's in its own right of definition, and it's considered bad is because the species cannot survive if we all kill each other, from which also stems sympathy.
Anyway, by this logic abortion shouldn't be considered bad unless we become an endangered species, especially considering the fetus won't care.
Also, when you steal a gift, you hurt that person. But when you take a life, you only hurt the people around that person. A fetus has no love for it, especially if it's being aborted because it's unwanted, so nobody will be hurt in the process. If you died right now, you would have no problem with it because you would be dead. Don't let your natural instinct that drives you to fear death blind you from the fact that death doesn't impact you at all, only all that's around you.

The nice thing about a democracy... or even a society in general... is that in most cases, the majority of people get to decide what becomes law. For the few who disagree, it's too bad.
It's a static thing in human nature to have a tendency to lean against murder. Same reason wolves don't generally kill each other at random in a pack.

Murder is wrong, not because it deprives people of future pleasures but because it is a violation of their rights - namely the right to life. Rights depend on personhood, if the fetus is not a person, it does not have the right to life. That's my take on it anyway.
It's rare to see such a good argument from either side of the debate though - as can be seen from the comments you have been getting.

Now that she was pregnant, the MD told her that any additional chemo would damage the fetus. But w/o the treatment, she could die, leaving her two children motherless. She chose to have an abortion. You may not agree with her decision, but it was hers to make. Try to be more compassionate and less judgmental.

She could easily sffer a miscarraie if she isn't careful. also if she doesn't get help when it's time to deliver the baby she could die. But there are times a C-section will not have the desired effect, and the mother will die anyway. Now, knowing this risk would you gamble with your daughter's life?

If a woman is raped, they should be allowed to abort the child as they would be plagued by the memory of their rape during their whole pregnacy. Giving the child to an orphanage wouldn't help her emotionally at all. You need to think about the woman who was victimized and not the child who was unfairly forced upon her.

@harvard1yale2prince He combines the argument with probability as well, & doesn't state that abortion is necessarily murder, in fact the argument fully admits it might not be as it admits that a fetus may not be a person (hence your appeal to ridicule is not valid). I disagree with the base assertions of this argument as my morality is utilitarian with emphasis on preserving natural rights, but this is nonetheless the most well(in fact the only) thought out argument against abortion.

In what people normally do in masterbation or fellatio, a baby will not be formed as a result, you dont masterbate into the vagina nor do you take it in the mouth to transport it to the vagina (Lol). It will not result in a baby, however getting pregnant WILL.
No, wearing a condom isnt murder because no matter how many times you do it with a condom (Assuming they dont break), the female wont get pregnant.

If you masterbate, a baby will not be born from simply that no matter how hard you try, in the normal scenario.
Murder is when you kill another human being. A sperm cell is not classified as a human being, therefore its not murder if you dont auto-pregnant somebody when sperm is released.
A fetus is completely different, it IS a human being

Abortion is morally wrong, as is the taking of someones life, because it is the taking of someones life. There is help for women who need it. There is WIC, women's pregnancy centers and there is government funding and other resources for single mother's. There's also programs which help a woman decide on a good family for the child if they want to put it up for adoption. But don't take a child's life because you can't afford it or aren't ready for it.

The only reason murder is wrong is because it's against moral code, morality which has been established mutually in most cultures to promote self-preservation. Killing somebody isn't theft... it's in its own right of definition, and it's considered bad is because the species cannot survive if we all kill each other, from which also stems sympathy.
Anyway, by this logic abortion shouldn't be considered bad unless we become an endangered species, especially considering the fetus won't care.

Also, when you steal a gift, you hurt that person. But when you take a life, you only hurt the people around that person. A fetus has no love for it, especially if it's being aborted because it's unwanted, so nobody will be hurt in the process. If you died right now, you would have no problem with it because you would be dead. Don't let your natural instinct that drives you to fear death blind you from the fact that death doesn't impact you at all, only all that's around you.

It's a static thing in human nature to have a tendency to lean against murder. Same reason wolves don't generally kill each other at random in a pack.
In many cases, laws are logical to protect and keep the peace... but in the end, laws reflect only but what the society wants. In many Muslim societies, women aren't allowed to show any skin. Does that protect them, or keep peace? No, it's built from a religious morale.

The main reason why a person feels no guilt when killing a fetus is because they dont see the face of their victim. A born baby has few differences from an unborn baby. Neither has thoughts, memories or aspirations. They probably can't even percieve pain. Yet people care about babies and it's only because we can see them.

Your absolutely right. Although, we could compare the level at which a fetus's brain is in (as in its processing capabilities) and compare it to animals and insects.
