ok, first off if the xbox has never been cleaned it will overheat, I took an original apart and there's no way it could overheat, the cpu runs under 1ghz, the cooler is huge and fins are very spaced out, there's a 76mm pc style fan in the back that sucks alot of air, the whole area under the dvd and hard drives is completly open and there's a plastic tray seperating them from the rest of the suystem. Plus the fact that there's very little dust.

@rainpunk4life dude i have original xbox 2 when u took it apart to clean it which i have mine before , chances are u either bumped the serial cable to the hard drive or the power cable to the hard drive..... try taking it apart again and blow in dust out of the ports and carefully put the cords back in

HOW TO FIX! I just thought I would share how I fixed my Xbox had very much the same problem, didn't output any image and just wouldn't start, I:

- took the entire thing apart

- removed the mother board

- cleaned it (as it was dusty as hell!)

- Removed the heat-synk (the big as metal object sitting above one of the chips)

- Cleaned with ISO

- Added new thermal paste-Arctic silver

- Reassembled and it all worked like new

(I might have a couple of extra screws, but that's only minor details right?)

This may be a fake. The only way to tell is to VIDEO TAPE THE SCREEN. If it were real you will see a disclaimer on the screen in many different languages telling you to call Microsoft because there is a serious problem with your XBOX.
