My older brother was there. He has told me that Lou came out two hours late with a towel over his head and two men holding him straight. He recovered after a few songs and sung this then. Can someone confirm?
I take the liberty to answer you. Several bootlegs came out in the 1970s & early '80s from Lou Reed's 1974 World Tour (the year of Rock'n'Roll Animal and Sally Can't Dance) like Stiff On His Legend and Whatever Happened To Dick & Steve. Sometimes the same bootleg was printed with different titles. The lyrics transcribed here have some mistakes, but then Lou Reed often improvised lyrics, especially on this song, and there are no overdubs on this. Thanks for the post!

Hmmm.. Not so sure about my overdub theory any more. (Different grass?)
Whatever, this is a kick-ass version of a fabulous song.

@fripouille69 Truly is kickass. No overdubs though, its a radiobroadcast. Having a hard time thinking swedish radio would do overdubs before airing.

@nosnasmedia Yes, I agree,and thanks for the precision that it was a radiobroadcast. As I said before, musta been the.....
I saw them twice, and they weren't at all as tight as this. This is so solid! (Not that what I saw wasn't kick-ass too!) :)

This is excellent.
But this is not all live. There are some overdubs on it.

I think I had this on a bootleg from the 1974 tour, Stiff On His Legend. Is that where you got it from?
VIVALAMUERTETUA 2 years ago
@VIVALAMUERTETUA Isn't it from the Whatever Happened To Dick And Steve boot LP from a long way back? Brilliant version, gotta add!!

Gwyll2501 2 years ago
Hi, in the live versions Lou Reed often changes the original lyrics of the songs.

@Oloferne8181
So why not put the lyrics as he sings them here instead of just using the generic ones?
nomarch 4 months ago
@nomarch I'm sorry but I'm Italian and I find difficult to understand well the words he sings...
Oloferne8181 4 months ago
@Oloferne8181
Fair enough that's a pretty good reason, A lot of the time it's still difficult even when you're english :)
