Great video. Some interesting comments though. We drilled so much I thought for sure we would hour magma. Drill is important when you get to the fleet, as long as we keep in mind the purpose of drill. Semper Fi!
You're going to HATE drill when u get to boot camp (that's if u decide Marine Corps)! I LOVED drill before boot camp....got to boot camp and freakin hated every damn time we drilled! You'll do sooooo much of it you'll just get burnt the hell out! Good luck though....,.
@hypermonkey3 well first of all drilling in ROTC is hardly anything compared to drillin at boot camp. i went throught ROTC and realized the drilling there was nothin compared to what is done at recruit training.
I am not sure what you are getting at by nothing compared. I put in 5 hours a week in drilling ,and i just went to parris island and the drill instructor said they do an hour every day. I do the same amount time i guess ,but i think your getting at that i don't have a Drill Instructor about to go off at me if i mess. I went to parris island recently and liked the intensity though so maybe it wouldn't be so bad yet again i am a cadet and didn't go in as a recruit
@hypermonkey3 look at it like this. drillin in ROTC is cool ya, because you dont have a pissed off DI in your face yellin at you because you took one extra step or to short of a step. Trust me you might have liked it when you VISITED but once you live there during first phase your gonna wanna call mom and go home. Trust me we all did it. your gonna hate gettin yelled at 24/7 for petty shit bro.
I gotta say..it was a while ago now but......I was on the Island for only a couple of hours, what immediately motivated me to keep going were these 2nd phase recruits.
I never saw anything like rifle drill before
they looked sharp to me at the time...
i hated drill all throughout boot, but it was damn impressing to watch it
off to class
