@ShawnTebaldi Which, for those of you who are reading this, and are interrested, is calle "Infernal Galop", and it is part of the "Orpheus in the Underworld" Operetta
@Darknessenceify Yes. Gaite Parisienne is a collection of Offenbach's works. Offenbach did not write a ballet called "Gaite Parisienne" but rather someone put it together. But Offenbach still wrote this Can-can called "Infernal Gallop". It's been interwoven all the way through GP and keeps on cropping up.
@ShawnTebaldi Offenbach never wrote a dance , he wrote an opera that dealt with with the Greek gods . Outside classical circles the music is know for it's use DURING the Can-can . The music is actually taken out of The Infernal Galop from Act II, Scene 2 of Offenbach's opera .
@haibane13 "The Infernal Gallop" IS a Can-Can. Just like "On The Beautiful Blue Danube" IS a Waltz. Can-Can does not refer to one particular choreographed dance but rather a type of music of which The Infernal Gallop is!! So if you refer to a Waltz it doesn't mean one particular Waltz but can refer to many composed pieces. So to here. But if you say the words "Can-Can", for many people, The Infernal Gallop is the piece they think of but is by no means the ONLY Can-Can.
@Gecko7291971 I think that they don't feel any exhaustion by banging those cymbals cuz they are "high" because of this music :D They should look like they are on exctazy or somethin :D Remmeber, there aren't much pieces where you can bang those plates into each other :D
Every time I hear this song, I am instantly reminded of that one scene from "Robin Hood Men In tights" and of the straight kick that Sup-Zero does in Mortal Kombat Armageddon that looks like the Can-Can kick.
Sounds like it'd be freaking fun to play the cymbals during the fastest part of this... It's gotta be a pain in the ass for the brass (ahh! rhymes!) doing offbeats at this speed, though.
@vulpecula999 Actually, it's the Overture to "Orpheus in the Underworld" (which is the most specific and correct title) and this, the finale, has the nickname "Galop infernal", but at the same time it's a cancan which is a type of dance (and also the name of the music to which you do the cancan) so it's totally correct to call it Cacan too. The reason why it's a cancan is in the musical structure of this specific part of the music. Somebody needs to study some classical music terminology.
this is some queer shit, go to hell you gay queers that listen to this queer song, this guy can go to hell as well, i hope all your mums shit in your mouth

@haibane13 Can-can is just a type of dance. Like a Waltz. Many people have written many different Waltz's. Offenbach wrote THIS Can-can
