  • @GunsNAeroStones Man, I like you!

  • wow, too fast!

  • very good tempo...

  • bravo !

  • Offenbach never wrote Can Can , he wrote Orpheus in the Underworld . The Orpheus song is well known for being used used during Can Can performances .

  • @haibane13 Can-can is just a type of dance. Like a Waltz. Many people have written many different Waltz's. Offenbach wrote THIS Can-can

  • @ShawnTebaldi Which, for those of you who are reading this, and are interrested, is calle "Infernal Galop", and it is part of the "Orpheus in the Underworld" Operetta

  • @Darknessenceify Yes. Gaite Parisienne is a collection of Offenbach's works. Offenbach did not write a ballet called "Gaite Parisienne" but rather someone put it together. But Offenbach still wrote this Can-can called "Infernal Gallop". It's been interwoven all the way through GP and keeps on cropping up.

  • @ShawnTebaldi Offenbach never wrote a dance , he wrote an opera that dealt with with the Greek gods . Outside classical circles the music is know for it's use DURING the Can-can . The music is actually taken out of The Infernal Galop from Act II, Scene 2 of Offenbach's opera .

  • can't help smilling to this! :)

  • well, you cut it off

  • I love classical music, it makes me do my homework :D

  • it gets epic at 1:30

  • 3 people cant cant

  • @MrSeebawaih That's how you make a comment about the dislike bar!

  • If the girls can dance this fast they should be wearing costumes with a big "F" on their chest, running around at night catching bad guys!!!

  • beautiful music !! i like this music somuch....

  • Epic

  • anyone for a glass of beer?

  • @cirosuperiore You are being blasphemous!!! only champagne here!!! ;-)

  • 0:00 to 1:15, wasn't that a part of Orpheus and the Underworld?

  • @ochayetisbrit

This is the Overture to Orpheus of the Underworld. Most people just know it as the can can lol

  • not fast enough

  • I Feel bad for the person who has to clash those symbols..

  • @Rtvoll He figures cocaine was one hell of a drug.

  • @Bensim44 haha! that comment made me LoL

  • @icanmyshoetie Thank you! I'll be here all week!

  • @Rtvoll they are called cymbals :D

  • @DuhuKaralius I bet their arms would be tired after banging those cymbals that much

  • @Gecko7291971 I think that they don't feel any exhaustion by banging those cymbals cuz they are "high" because of this music :D They should look like they are on exctazy or somethin :D Remmeber, there aren't much pieces where you can bang those plates into each other :D

  • I love the percussion in this, it's so lively

  • I cancan can you cancan? I'm doing Orpheus in a sax choir for solo & ensemble this year. I wish I could cancan during the performance lol

  • Was it really that short?

  • I mean Sub-Zero* Sorry. I was typing rather fast

  • Every time I hear this song, I am instantly reminded of that one scene from "Robin Hood Men In tights" and of the straight kick that Sup-Zero does in Mortal Kombat Armageddon that looks like the Can-Can kick.

  • Classical music is essential. without it, music wouldn't have evolved (or in some cases DE evolved) into the music that we hear today.

  • Aaah, the Theme to Orpheus.

  • Who cares if it's cancan, can-can, or can can...it's still a great piece of music!

  • never seen a vid that's been out for more than a year with less than 5 dislikes.

    Cool.

  • @muggtonp its over 2 years now

  • sounds like something from a disney movie....like peter pan or alice

  • @smileyvigilante333 It does, doesn't it??

  • great stuff everyone go see it! :) offenbach really looks like the creepy neighbour by the way

  • The title is: Cancan, not Can Can !

  • @TIGROU706 By looking at the related videos I can pretty much tell NO

  • @Supermariofan14

Unfortunately, many make the mistake! The correct spelling : cancan

  • @Supermariofan14

You can! And you will be wrong!

  • 1 stupid troll disliked

  • @KoHcTpyKTop666Cmeptu

Oh no! Someone disliked this video! IT CHANGED EVERYTHING!

  • I love this song... and I first heard it in a video game called Parodius when I was a kid.

Curious way to discover Offenbach's work I agree...

  • I FUCKING LOVE THIS.

  • Fast but superb.

  • B y far my favourite song of anything - especially this version! :D

  • Sounds like it'd be freaking fun to play the cymbals during the fastest part of this... It's gotta be a pain in the ass for the brass (ahh! rhymes!) doing offbeats at this speed, though.

  • I remember playing this in school. Such a brilliant piece of music.

  • Can you please tell us the name of the orchestra playing this piece?

  • @jplaura02 Royal Philharmonic Orchestra/ Great british orchestras (Disk 2) 2006

    My Track ID says ;)

  • Ah, one of the most recognizable songs ever made...

  • I love this melody, but is faster than I know

  • @1995nego

Well, just think you´re in a world where you can do whatever you want and nobody can stop you. A whole anarchy

  • Best version ever heard :)

    Offenbach was really a genius

  • dude loved cymbals

  • 1:19 is the good part.

  • We're playing an extremely watered down version of this... And I'm concertmistress =3

  • is very good!!!

  • the music is called galop infernal, not cancan (originally not hyphenated)

  • @vulpecula999 Actually, it's the Overture to "Orpheus in the Underworld" (which is the most specific and correct title) and this, the finale, has the nickname "Galop infernal", but at the same time it's a cancan which is a type of dance (and also the name of the music to which you do the cancan) so it's totally correct to call it Cacan too. The reason why it's a cancan is in the musical structure of this specific part of the music. Somebody needs to study some classical music terminology.

  • @vulpecula999

    its called cancan, isnt it?

  • On of my favorite classical pieces of all time. My public schoo lwas lucky to teach me classically.

  • AWSOME!

  • dadadadadada.... KABAAAAM! AWESOME!

  • tin tun tun tun tata tata tatata. tan tantan tantan tantan tan.... XD

  • prrety fast

  • wow, i find it so weird that youtube conversations can completely stray off topic

  • @gipytoiii yeah, it should be about the video at hand really. too many idiots that like arguing i suppose.

  • @swnalake Youtube comment fights in a nutshell, righto? Heck, there's a song on youtube about them last I checked.

  • we h

  • Is the horn solo at 2:15 actually in the score?

  • i think no :o

  • i find this unargueably (if thats a word) the best can can version eva

  • Superbe cette musique, quel entrain, quel dynamisme !

    Merci de l'avoir "postée"

  • B-R-A-VOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

  • This is why we do not like russian swine. You killed your King and now you want to kill everyone else. Piss off

  • LOL @ RussianPIMP64, you wouldn't be able to recognize good music if it were violating your soft behind with a 12-inch iron dildo.

  • @RussianPIMP64

idiot id like to see u make music better than this

  • @RussianPIMP64

    so r u

  • This piece reminds me of the Movie Titanic just before it sinks.

  • that's probably because the string quartet in the movie plays it on the deck of this ship as it's going down.

  • I prefer it at this speed :)

  • At this speed the Girls at the moulin rouge would be dead after 1 minute of kicking around, But it sounds a lot livelier then most versions.

  • But dont't forget, some years before the "Quadrille" was fashionable and so they learned and knowed the speed! ;-)

  • @Nerwelle I'm exhausted just by listening to it!

  • @Nerwelle lol

  • @Nerwelle Not only the dancers, but the musicians playing too:P

  • @Nerwelle I double that!

  • @Nerwelle big LOL ;)))

  • a little bit too fast

  • @plerimest

not at all! but I agree a little to loud in the start of the theme

  • The best part starts from 1:28

  • I remember we had to play this last year at the sixth grade honors concert.

God, the band was ridiculously loud, but good!

  • who does this version? I'd love to buy it!

  • haha this song is so funny

  • SUPER MARIO LAND FTW!!!

  • Pablo Diego Jose de Paula Juan Nepomuceno Maria de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santissima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso

  • Sorry but Picasso is NOT french, he was a Spamiard, born in Malaga and educated in Barcelona. Is after that when he moves to Paris.

  • Ssssh Don't tell that to Citroen!!!

    You'll ruin them!!

  • mmmm spamiard.... *drools*

  • schön ich liebe diese music!!!!!!

  • i've always wondered who wrote this.

  • This is the good version of the can can.

    luuv it!!!

  • THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE PASTA

  • what? lol

  • @YoUrMuMLoOksGAY OH NOES!!! :o

  • This man is quite a great man indeed

  • It always makes me want to tap on the floor with my feet X)

  • you might wake up your neighbors downfloor if you tried to do that.

  • I leave in a house :D

  • in a beautiful house bought with the money you earned hard working?

  • What's wrong with you ? --'

  • nothing, you said "I leave in ahouse" and apart from the fact that, you cannot "leave in a house", I thought I would play with you

  • ye, I'm French, I failed XD

I wanted to say " I LIVE in a house"

    That's why I didn't understand XD

  • are you proud of this man?

  • Comment removed

  • You ought to be proud of that man, He was a brilliant man a great man of music. I immigrated to canada. but Jim Carrey is a funny guy, Jim Carrey and Mr Bean are my super heros.I don't like Superman.

  • Right, I'm proud...But you mean I have to be proud of him because he's French ?

I personally think one man cannot make a country looks better. Of course a lot of people love this song, and maybe this guy made France better...

That's all, I don't want to be proud of anyone because he made something being French, I hope you'll understand the way I think :D

  • You see that is where you are wrong. It is not 100 people who make a country proud, or great, just few. You just lag there seated, but it is all the few scientists that invented things in your country's name and artists like Picasso and this man makes you proud.

  • love the symbols, lol

  • Funny:P

  • Say Angus where can i find this version?

  • this is by far the best version of this piece. fast as hell the way it should be

  • This always makes my toes tap the floor! :D

  • me too!!

    77 ANSOTHONARMAND

  • and me jumping in the room!

  • Einfach toll.

  • ME ENCANTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
