He did talk to the tank commander, asked him not to kill his own people. Those tanks were from the Beijing Regional Army, they refused to proceed after this event. The communist leaders had to send troops from other region later that day for the massacre. Nobody knows where this tank man/hero is, but the tank commander was out of the military for good and lost all his pension. He also is someone that we should remember and respect.

I have been looking around for the video of the guy who was crushed...maybe it was at a school or something but I remember it from when I was younger. I saw the video with my own two eyes.
He was picked up by people in the crowd and wisked away. The problem is we don't know if they were actual protesters, or officials placed there to control the crowd.

Shopping bag person was pretty brave eh? its probably best his anonymous cause the government will just make an example out of him if you decide to go against it. He did talk to the tank commander, asked him not to kill his own people. Those tanks were from the Beijing Regional Army, they refused to proceed after this event. The communist leaders had to send troops from other region later that day for the massacre. Nobody knows where this tank man/hero is, but the tank commander was out of the military for good and lost all his pension. He also is someone that we should remember and respect.

The problem with that information is no one knows his name so that is hearsay. There was a complete communication blackout, and the official count of how many that died is still unclear so to just say something like that is bull. No offense, but nobody knows what happened after foreign media really shut their cameras off. That media tried to keep taking photos, but only some of that could be smuggled so your teacher is lying.

This man is an icon of the 20th century, not just for china, but for everyone. He selflessly risked his life to stand up for what he believed in. One man can stop a line of that many tanks, the image is very humbling. If you dont respect this man, please kill yourself.
