  • You are now leaving Bikini Bottom.

  • This is the aircraft that crashed today, 25th August 2010. All 14 aboard were killed

  • are these pilots skilled or just crazy?

  • about 9600 feet in the air

  • cool have there good wind for take - off =]

  • in te early morning rain with a doler in my hand and an aceing in my heart .. i was stuck here 2007 jst wanted to get home .. been to base camp +kala patare god bless the U S A FROM THE U.K

  • aircraft carrier in the sky

  • It seems as though the weather must be calm there to take-off/land... Based on the camera angle, there is only 1 way in/out, so winds must be reasonable to take-off & land in opposite directions...

seems possible to get stuck there for a while!

  • Awesome video.I returned from there a month ago and just reminding myself of the trip.We waited 4 days to get out and it was such a relief to step onto the tarmac at LUKLA!!!

  • My previous post in wrong place, so ignore.

  • A very good effort, given the circumstances. Been looking for a clip to awake my memories. Pity some of the edge has gone - when I went in 1994 there was no tarmac and it looked like we were heading for a dirt strip with a high wall at the end. Luckily before we reached the wall the plane turned right into a square which was hidden until then.

Still seems a thrill though 'cos in the recent BBC Horizon film the passengers all cheered on landing, the same as we did.

  • in 1997 i was there but we flew in and out in old russian cargo helicopters the locals were smashing stones to re-surface the runway it looks good.

the plane that crashed there is at the back of a restruant on the left of the runway heading down all that is left of it in 97 was the fueslage

  • Lovely sound of reverse pitch props on landing! Really needed here. No room for error. Good video thanks.

  • ive been on that flight and its pretty scary

  • once a plane crashed inthis airport. do u have that video?

  • There've been 5 plane crashes; Wikipedia lists them all. One of the planes went right into the approach abutment on landing. That and one other crash were the only crashes with fatalities. Not a bad record for such a challenging airport.

  • it is a shame that no jets whatsoever an land there

  • it do land in the capital city

  • cant really do any mistakes..seems all aircraft cut power to idle and jst glide in...the bad thing u dont have room to do a go around...

  • Actually, you come in with full power and flaps, use yoke for directional. Once at the runway, you start chopping power fully, hold yoke back to stall right at touchdown and go full-beta on the reversers.

  • need to do a really short landing..i hope the airlines let me land they...a dream...dont wanna work for money..jst a passion...training in US...it would be fun to get back home and start flying there

  • that is indeed a huge hill in front

  • After landing there is a mountain right at the end of the runway; so no landing for 24; only take-off.

  • Flight Simulator ATC wanted me to land on Runway 24...I landed at 6 instead, as everyone does, and got 'You were NOT cleared to land. Clear the runway'. I muttered a 'Fuck you' and turned into the terminal tarmac.

  • hahahaha yeah fsx's ATC is so screwed up you'd better turn it off, and just pretend there is an ATC

  • ahhaha yea same happenes for TNCM

    " cleared to land rwy 28 "

  • that runway is seriously steap!!

  • I believe it's 15% slope; and requires pilot to have at least 7 years experience to land here.

  • only STOL´s land and take off here

    really hard

  • definitely is

  • Coolest airport of the world!
