  • Yeah man do it!..it really is very satisfiying when you get the end result & really quite simple..just a little bit of prep & patience & the thing will look so much better when done..plus it's unique!..thanks for the kind words dude! :-)

  • Great job man, I'm thinking of buying a Mesa cab and doing this. The tolex is beat to crap and will come cheap compared to a new cab. Great color choice, my favorite team is the 49ers so I'm a little biased. This shows that if you wanna put some work in, it is worth it.

  • fantastic!

  • Beautiful job, man!

  • @heritage80elite Thanks man! too kind!

  • im buying a mosfet soon and i was wondering how hard it would be to redo it in red so it would match my cab

  • @metalrocker853 pretty easy dude, it's the same basic principles for covering any type amp / box...cool amp as well.

  • @jaytv777 also where can you get the piping i found the tolex and grill cloth on a lot of websites but i can't find the piping anywhere. also very nice job on the valvestate that thing looks like it can kill and sounds like it too

  • @metalrocker853 check out uk amp spares online go to the marshall spares section and they sell all types of piping...thanks!..I kinda have a soft spot for that valvestate..its been on 4 albums (not to mention the track on the vid!) it 's a great cheap bit of kit for studio stuff & sounds good with the LP.

  • Thanks mate!..this was the first one I did hence the vid.

The tolex is really simple..just like wrapping a big present :) best way is to lay it out in a single long strip and 'roll' the cab onto it pasting then glueing each side as you go and putting the join underneath. Yeah.drill the rivets out (sometimes easier from the inside) I used gold rivets from an online place to replace. If you have any questions just PM me and I'll give you a blow by blow guide..give it a go , it really is simple.

  • Incredible. I am totally inspired I aquired a marshall cab that looked simular to what yours did. One day I started ripping the tolex off. I've been debating on how to refinish it. I'm a bit intimidated to re tolex but this video has me seeing the light. Any advice on getting the handles off. My handles are attached with rivits. Drill through them? best glue to use? screws for replacing the handles? Thanks! Great Great Video.

  • I sweat green star...oh and booze...

  • You should've moved the bucket of green star!
