1. Its a goal scoring chance against last man

2. GK raised his hands with intention to block outside the box

3. Intentions are good enough to warrant a red on such situations

You can't say we didn't deserve to go through based on this one wrong decision. We had more chances and were threatening every attack. Our campaign is littered with wrong decisions AGAINST us. This is about the only one that went in our favour. I still think we would have won. Obviously we'll never know but any genuine neutral who knows football will tell you Ireland were the stronger team up to this.

I was there at the game with almost the same view as the referee. My gut instinct was handball. Yes Cox controlled it with his arm I think it was unintentional. What I will say is the keeper had NO WAY of knowing where the ball was going to go after it left Cox's boot. He came running out with arms held high in the air with the intention of handballing it. We had a stonewall penalty against Slovakia that wasn't given and do I need to mention Henry??? We were long overdue a desicion to go our way

It was the clearly wrong decision by the ref, but it was far from the "worst". He just didn't have a good angle since he was obstructed from seeing what happened and probably just saw the keeper raising his hands to block the shot. Not sure where the linesman was, but he should have had a better angle.
