  • @PaulMcKeever whats you cause autism? who the fuck cares.

    Bring on the 2015 Games!

  • Gord Hume was a fat busybody then and he still is today!

  • Another consequence of government distortion of the marketplace?

A hundred sled dogs slaughtered because the stimulation didn't last.

  • FREE MARC EMERY!!!

  • wtf 1.77 billion!!! almost similar in cost to the 2010 vancouver games which is a world-wide event.... damn hehe

  • And they didn't do it, and so that's why London is a city nobody even knows about. London would be much better if they had. CONGRATULATIONS TO TORONTO

  • but WINNIPEG got the games in 1999!

  • bring on da games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What is a 2 billion dollars budget to be spent in the next 5 years compared to a $ 1.5 trillion dollar GDP produced in a year?

Let people celebrate the Pan Ams.

  • what a distortion of the facts.

The history of the Pan Am Games was that in 1984 the Organizing committee for the Santiago Chile Games in 1986 was in tatters, The games were then switch to Quato Equador, Equador also could not host . Havana and Indianapolis were vying for the 1987 and 1991 games respectfully. Indianapolis was the rescue city for the 1987 games on the condition cuba was awarded for 1991 and cuba athletes were allowed for indianapolis 1987. Emery stopped a games that were not

  • Toronto's economy depends on the hospitality and tourism industries. They count on visitors to eat in their restaurants, see live productions, go to the museums and attend festivals. That's how they make money. With events like the Pan Am Games and World Pride, we get visitors and we get revenue.

  • You can't really compare London in 1984 to Toronto in 2015. Toronto has always been a world class city. A epicentre filled with museums, restaurants, entertainment, business, research, etc. What does London have? If I was an athlete, what would I see in London?

  • TORONTO WINS! TORONTO WINS!! TORONTO WINS!!!

    Woohoo!!

  • is this the same mark emery who got convinced of selling weed seeds to americans via the internet ? If this is the example of the freedom party then it certainly isnt a good one

  • Nice job Mark!!!

The olympics are coming to Vancouver and we need to shed the same light as this. These events may seem for good causes but what about all the starving and homeless people in the world???

    Peace and Love

  • i dig his hair

  • Me thinks Gord Hume was attempting to reverse David Humes thinking on the "is/ought" rule. Thanks Paul. And Thanks Marc Emery

  • Paul, I was unaware that Marc Emery was involved with Freedom Party back in 1984. Thanks for posting this video. Also interesting was Emery's remark referring to the Pan Am games as a taxpayer funded economic stimulus. It was timely then, and timely once again.

  • Wow, thanks for shedding light on a such a ambitious and determined individual as Marc Emery. Very interesting video.

LOL, Gord Hume. His name just sounds villainous.
