The history of the Pan Am Games was that in 1984 the Organizing committee for the Santiago Chile Games in 1986 was in tatters, The games were then switch to Quato Equador, Equador also could not host . Havana and Indianapolis were vying for the 1987 and 1991 games respectfully. Indianapolis was the rescue city for the 1987 games on the condition cuba was awarded for 1991 and cuba athletes were allowed for indianapolis 1987. Emery stopped a games that were not

Toronto's economy depends on the hospitality and tourism industries. They count on visitors to eat in their restaurants, see live productions, go to the museums and attend festivals. That's how they make money. With events like the Pan Am Games and World Pride, we get visitors and we get revenue.

Paul, I was unaware that Marc Emery was involved with Freedom Party back in 1984. Thanks for posting this video. Also interesting was Emery's remark referring to the Pan Am games as a taxpayer funded economic stimulus. It was timely then, and timely once again.
