  • I'd tune in every week...to watch Randy sing this theme song. Then I'd switch to whatever else was on. I think this torpedoed Bochko's career, didn't it?

  • Greatest Show EVER !! Then Cheers and Hill Street Blues....

  • who's wesley willis?

  • Thumbs up if you believe this is the lamest show EVER on television.

  • @WesMantooth73 Yes it was! This song was pretty cool though. That was probably the only positive was the intro. I really don't understand what the Hell they were thinking though. It was pretty bad!

  • @WesMantooth73 It beats Glee!

  • As strange as it may sound, but I actually ENJOYED the show. I remember I recorded the episodes on VHS when it was broadcasted back then especially the songs. Wish it was released on DVD now though.

    Good times. :)

  • @brongers457 There's a fan-made dvd.

  • ruterger, you are very astute!

  • Laser sunshine, tears & rain.

    Precious limousine girls go by.

Isles of darkness, feel the pain.

All the time that we had....

We were not as nothing as a photograph.

Someone throw the woman in the sun.

Chewie would have to be just 59 doodoo Conan.

  • @LikaLaruku Obscurus lupa would be proud!

  • Under the sun. Under the doors. Under the doooooooooooooooor. When you see some darkened beer. & I had to sign a Coke for everyone. In the audit, on the stair. You called it out, we'll be there. When no one else seems to care, 59 doodoo Conan. Under the door. Under the door. 59 doodoo Conan.
  • Sounds like he's saying "Under the gong."

  • After watching that intro, I have no f'ing clue what the hell this show is about!?! What were they thinking?! And the only words that I understood from Randy's mouth was under the gun.

  • is this nigga retarded?

  • now i know why i never watched this show...could NOT get past the awfully nauseating opening song. damn, they had a gem beneath this garbage. too bad...

  • It sure was nice of the producers and actors to let that man with Downs Syndrome play the piano for them.

  • @ruterger too cold!!! LMAO

  • @ruterger That is Mike Post...the guy who composed "Law & Order", "Hill Street Blues", "LA Law", "NYPD Blue", "The Rockford Files", "The A-Team", "Quantum Leap" and other themes.

  • I remember seeing the first promo in 1990

  • I remember seeing the first promo in 1990

  • I heard about this show but never saw any of it. Thanks for posting!

  • not

  • Who is this?! My parents and their friends from the pot luck wanting to be rockers while embarrassed looking actors pretend to be into it?

I know who Randy Newman was, but this is bad even for him, and I'm 42.......

  • @maryjanesfury They must have had smoked joints or very drunk before they got there.

  • To each his own. I liked this show.

  • @SeradeBlack Very strange concept, but I liked it too.

  • This is just bloody bizarre......Who in their right mind would watch this fistful of assholes?

  • Randy Newman was the Wesley Willis of his time.

  • I think what happened is they put all the talent and good songs in the first couple episdes. Then they had nothing left. I think a movie, or may just one song or so for each episode would have worked out better. The showe was strange, but there are a few really good songs in it.

  • @seanellio Yes. Just too much to expect good songs in a weekly series.

Even Paul McCartney couldn't provide tunes that fast.

  • god this guy sucks and this show sucked even worse...........i have to hear this douche every time my kids watch curious george

  • holy douche chills. randy newman is the worst musician.

  • Theme song composer Mike Post appears at 0:21. Hill Street Blues as a musical...the acting was good...the singing was just strange.

  • What a rotten show that was--glad it got it's reward..demolition!

  • Funny, a large number of people had to give this show the OK before it aired in TV. People had to pitch the idea and somebody accepted it. A team of writers and producers had to get together and come up with a pilot show. A group of executives critqued it, talked about it, compared it to other pilot shows, and then decided that this show would be a success and put it on TV. And I remeber this show was heavily promoted. Amazing that so many people had to believe in this show to get it on the air

  • @amensupremera Probably got green-lighted at a coke party.

  • @ORCA4312 Must've been some GOOD sh*t! LOL

  • how do get people excited about a new cop show? Have the actors sit and stand around watching Randy Newman sing...

  • One of Randy Newman's greatest TV theme songs along with "MONK".
