Do your research... its all breakbeat! i dont know why everyone insists on trying to categorize every progression of a music genre. I'm just waiting for someone to call it Dub-hardstep-dark-jungle-ragga and i think i'll have heard everything. Trust me kids, when i say that back in 91" and 92" it was all just plain old breakbeat. Quit trying to be so analytical and enjoy the music for what it is. One up D-boy...Keep spinning that quality brainfood. deuces!
seeing dieselboy soon...so pumped...missed his set at camp bisco and since then ie been dieing to see him...i woulda been so surprised to hear insane dubstep once he hit the stage...everyone knows he got popular from DnB
i did expect to hear drum & bass the moment i saw Dieselboy was playing, and thats one of the reasons i bought a ticket, but the subwoofer shook me up just as much as i knew it would when it wasnt
As a dubstep fan, I have to say I'm glad Diesel is spinnin' it, because the stuff he's spinnin' blows just about everything else away in my opinion. Regardless of how you might feel about dubstep as a genre, you have to appreciate his versitility and the fact that he's not afraid to possibly alienate loyal fans by trying something new. I love what you're doing DB, keep doing what you do n fuck the haters!
the bass from the bins at this tent was so massive it made the little hair on my legs move, i was stage right, directly in front of the 10 foot high bass bins. this "small" stage had like 100 people at it, who knew Dieselboy, about 10 minutes in, the crowd had widened to the whole area, that dub drew the largest crowd
@NolaMalcolm504 DnB is far from dying my friend. I know plenty of people that are just now getting hip to it. I love Dubstep equally for each is its own monster. I just saw this man on April 1st and I gotta say he does what he does well. I was excited to hear that he was doing dubstep...Because I knew he would slaughter it and he has a unique sound.
i've seen some sets of his from earlier this year and he was playing dnb... this was a gnarly dubstep set and i can respect his wanting to branch out, but i was sad to see this...
@DaFunkyFunk Just think of what he did for Drum and Bass and the whole Scene.. Then he just turns his back on it... Its good to see people like Andy C staying ture...
@ridehalfpipe they just wrapped a Planet of the Drums tour recently. AK1200, Dara, Dieselboy, Messianian. don't be fooled if tried and true like other new material, its all money making
I was waitin for lotus when all the sudden i heard some sick dub and so i sprint over to diesleboy, knocking over a guy and his beer, and get front and center for the next few hours. such a sick show! when i left that tent i was soaked!!!
That thursday night, lost some of my friends when we were waiting for lotus... so i went to look for them and left some friends back waiting for lotus to come on... i then felt massive bass hitting my rolling heart HARD... i looked around and saw the crazy lights from the lunar stage and then SPRINTED back to my friends "I FOUND THE FUCKING DUBSTEP STAGE.... LETS GO" hahahahah, fuckin bonna!
I was about 15 feet away from the front in the center. the bass was AWESOME! I showed up before it started and had no idea what I was in for up front. Thanks to a handsome stranger for dancing with me to keep me from getting thrashed from behind. If anyone knows a redheaded guy named David at this show, tell him to get in touch! I want hit up another dieselboy show and dance some more!
fuckin sick show...ive never been to a live dieselboy show before let alone really listen...i was 15 feet from the speakers up front and i felt like i was in a wind tunnel from the bass...i couldnt even light a lighter...epic show thow...amazing!
here's hoping they bring back the Lunar stage at Bonnaroo this year

stasisaudio 1 year ago
If you would have moved up just 20 feet or so, you would have felt the bass 100,000 times more. I was about right here for a while before moving up.
It was like, once you crossed an imaginary line, all of a sudden the bass was fucking rockin. I kind of feel bad for you.
THIS SHOW WAS FUCKING AWESOME!!!! Probably my favorite next to Bassnectar this year.
