This is a REAL old-timey tune, I'll tell yer fer sure .. & beautifully played by this wonderful band. I'm privileged to own a copy of this same tune, as done by The Oldtimers (from Hillsville, VA .. led by Uncle Norman Edmonds), doin their version at the Galax VA OT Fiddlers Convention in 1961 ...

i just found out about rebekah too & heard roan mtn hilltoppers at clinch mtn fest last year-they are all outstanding musicians!/this must be old-time string band competition-not bluegrass-thanks for posting!!

Recently discovered Rebekah's great old-time banjo playing...wow. This whole group just makes you want to get up dance...did they win the contest?????????

Yeah, they rock! I think they placed 5th. Mt. Airy has 15 places in the winners circle! I don't know how many old-time bands entered this year... 40, 80, 120?.
