Hi Adro, Looking good. I wanted to let you know that I have lost 50kgs but mine was thru a gastric lap band. I just got my date for surgery to remove lose skin... 18 Feb 2010. How long where you stuck in bed after your surgery???
i like u from the begining of the show but not until u throw your black shirt at Harry, thats a stupid childish act. I hope u have grown up a bit now. Congrat
Adro, you are absolute star!! You look like a totally different person and i can see just how much more confident you are and its a wonderful thing to see that you have so much strength, its incredibly inspiring!! x
Adro, way to go mate... it must feel great to have accomplished so much! How are you feeling after all the surgeries? I recently had emergency surgery and I'm dealing with some psychological issues myself. If you have the time look at my video on youtube/ wayneo169 again great work, good for you, enjoy your rewards
he's really well spoken...i was disappointed when he acted how he did when harry got back in the race, but I'm glad he won....he worked his bum off and is a really sweet guy. Good job!
I'm so glad you won. I was very dissapointed with Kristie when she voted you off. She was the ultimate evil backstabber masqurading as an innocent, smiling mother of 5. I really do dispise people like that, i'm just happy you came back with a vengence and showed them!
It was really some thing to see your determination. You look great, but it's really not about looking great it's about feeling great, because even after surgery you could still not feel like you thought you would.Best of luck, you are trully a inspiration to get motivated!
Ah fuck, I viewed this thinking it wouldnt give away the fucking winner of Biggest loser before I was through with it. I saw this a year or so ago -- and I remembered it was you when I viewed the Biggest Loser Aus 1.
i would just like to say that you are an inspiration! your journey through TBL(i watched the whole season on youtube) was what inspired me to take control of myself and my weight. i watched the bit when you were on the tree and had to jump I couldn't believe how much it touched, and inspired me.
so i just wanted you to know that even after 2 years (3? i'm not sure when it was originally on tv) you're still helping people change their lives.
I think the documentary is an excellent idea!!! I Started losing weight 2 years ago. Joined WW and lost 24 kilos...but lost momentum - I needed to lose another 40k. I have sadly put back on 10 kilos but watching TBL has truly inspired me to try again. Adro, you are a legend!!
I am a huge fan of the biggest loser. I have followed Adro's journey in the first year of the show and what an amazing and inspirational person he is. The documentary is a fantastic idea. Losing the weight is half the battle and for Adro to share his very personal story about his life after the show is commendable. You've got my vote Adro, good luck. Rachel :-)
Outstanding! Those of us about to have this procedure are encourged by your positive description. You have put my mind to ease! I thank you! Nice work!
Hey Adro! I think this documentary is real important for people who need informed support. To see your journey from start to finish would be truly amazing. You have inspired me and at some of my lowest points I have youtubed you guys and that has helped me keep going . . thank you. I would watch your documentary :) Dawn from Canada
you could probably hear the shouts of delight and support right across the Tasman when your name was announced as the biggest loser. You have done an amazing job and I wish you nothing but the absolute best in your life to come. Kind regards Lynise (New Zealand)
Programs like the biggest loser provide an incredible amount of motivation to many people and I for one would love to see you create another program that looks at how your journey continued after the biggest loser. On a more personal note I must say that your determination, strength and loyalty to others shone though our television screens and
Although I am not terribly much older then yourself I come from a family of larger people and seen how obesity is almost an unspoken shame. It wasn't talked about within the family but we all suffered for it in our own way. (at school etc). I am pleased this issue is now being taken more seriously and being bought out into society as I believe that only when something is acknowledge, can it be changed.
Well where do I start. I have stumbled across your video by pure accident but of course recognised your name (and face) from the biggest loser series that was played her in NZ some time ago.
I am so pleased to hear that you are wanting to pursue creating a docomentary style program regarding your weight loss and subsequent surgery. Speaking as one who has also struggled with being over weight I only wish there was more support (and an open-ness) about this issue a long time ago.
im glad you did this...its nice to see people of all shapes and sizes...you have a great body.
I have a video I made for a survey i am doing...shoing different sizes of woman from thin to BBW (very big) and I want ppl to comment on what they think is pretty....to prove the streotype that only skinny woman are pretty is wrong!
Hi, My name is André and I just want to say that I am going through the same exact thing right know... What you said really spoke to me... Everyone is always saying that I look great now, but under my close is a different story... I went from 289lbs to 180lbs in about 1.5 years... Thank you for posting the video because now I am sure on what I am going to do... Thank you again...
Hey Adro. Just wanted to say a big congratulations on everything you've achieved - you should be incredibly proud of yourself, especially since you're so focused on using your experience to help others. I think that the documentary you're planning on making would be a fantastic thing and I hope you get the full support of the networks (surely 10 will come to the party!).
If you look at todays' generation and see the growing rate of obesity and diabetes and think that computers, play-stations, etc haven't assist in this -- you my friend have your head in the sand!!!
Yes the rate is growing and computers and the like do contribute, but that doesn't mean that everyone that uses a computer is inactive. Which is why I don't agree with your intial statement: "but you should be saying "get off the computer, instead of sitting and watching me for 10 minutes, and go for a walk".........."
This may be true for some, and they should get out and be more active, but there would be many people who visit this site that do exercise each day.
yawn......... dribble........ ...... you've become an inspiration to so many Australians ..... but you should be saying "get off the computer, instead of sitting and watching me for 10 minutes, and go for a walk"..........
Adro was once a "play station" game addict (which he confesses when he started the biggest loser), so if he isn't an example of someone sitting still watching the world go by, what is?
Adro WAS a playstation addict. But what has that got to do with anything? Does that mean that if you're a playstation addict then you never exercise? Because I know many elite athletes who are addicts.
For Adro to get on here and tell everyone to get off their computer and start exercising would be to assume that they are not already active, or that they should spend every waking moment exercising
I agree with you .... "yes Adro" is now an athlete .... and WAS a playstation addict! Don't want to chit-and-chat because you have your opinion and I have mine. Good luck to you my friend.
You look fantastic!! You are definitely a hottie!!! Congrats!!! How you feel about yourself is what is most important for true happiness. God Bless!!!
Cheers for that clip adro... im going through similar scenario too what meldiva's going through and its good hearing what other people are going through that are in the same situation as myself. It would have been a lot easier for me if i knew that once i lost my weight that i wouldnt have a nice firm stomach. I lost 45kg and only thought this affected people that lost 100kg+. So i hope you make this documentary.
now if you started reading this dont stop its really scary!ok send this to five other videos in 143 minutes. when you are done press F6 and your crushes name will appear on the screen in big letters this is weird because it does work. If you break this chance you wont have a crush in the next five years
Hi Adro, MAKE THAT DOCO! Im so impressed with you. I completely identify with being stuck between 'not thin but not fat', I lost 50kgs had heaps of excess skin too but got so demoralised when I couldnt afford surgery that I piled back 20kgs and am still stuggling to get the last 10gs back off. Im only 30 years old and relatively attractive I feel like an old maid because my shape ages me. MAKE THAT DOCO!
the funniest thing about this show is if you go to the forums all the posts are from these housewives going "women power!" "woman for winner in 2007!".....hahaha...OWNED!!!!
Congratulations, Adro. Seeing your 'before' body is what I see every time I look in a full-length mirror. What was your weight, and what is it now? Did a dietician help you, or just you and your family?
Keep it up, from a South African to an Ozzie (I still hope we beat you in the Cricket World Cup!!!)
I would definately watch that!!! This is awesome. In the last ep of Biggest Loser when you were asked if you had any advice for people who wanna lose weight and you said "Don't Wait" it really struck a nerve and I think this documentary would be highly profitable and aquire high ratings. Networks would be foolish to turn it down.
What you are doing is amazing. Keep going strong with this plan, as much as I can I will get it out.
Your journey (along with Kristie's) has motivated me to get down to a healthy weight, for my kids but also for me. To see how you are going a year after doing TBL is just amazing.
I do hope you make the documentary. I think you could help people understand the reality of what we do to our body when we become obese. I had wondered and worried a long time about the results of losing a lot of weight, but actually knowing the truth of it has made me more brave. I had to face the fact that there would be more to deal with that just losing weight, and take responsibility for that. Now I feel ready to face it and not let that fear stop me from becoming healthier.
Hey Adro... you rock! You are such an inspiration. I just checked out your site and its brilliant. Also sent you an email. Hope to hear from ya. I hope that I too can lose the weight and be an inspiration to others.
Woohoo! The Biggest Loser just aired their first show here in NZ (27-12-06)..Now Im gonna go to work and bet everyone that I know who the winner is.God bless You Tube :)
Hi Adro, thanks so much for sharing your ongoing story. You often see reality tv shows that just end, and nothing more. We loved you on the show and would love to see your doco air on TV. I've posted the link to a few groups I'm on. Thanks for being such an inspiration :)
you are looking AMAZING Adro. Props to you for keeping looking so good! Can't wait to see your doco, and good luck for any future surgeries!! You are very inspiring. xo
mate top work ive seen what this man has gone through as ive know him for along time and the direction that his life has turned in a short few months is amazing i back him 100% and any station that will take this on wont be sorry they did....
You continue to amaze me Adro, and have enjoyed watching a preview of your documentary for which you have my full support. I thoroughally enjoyed watching you transformation on the Biggest Loser and have continued to enjoy catching up with you via your website. You have my continued support in your venture of making this documentary a reality, and I look forward to being one of many who will benfit from it. Thanks Adro, you are my continued inspiration xx
Adro, you are an insperation to all, i would really like to see the doco as a tummy tuck is something i have always wanted (when i win lotto). You look amazing and should be very proud of what you have done. Well done and keep up the good work.
Adro well done!! You have done an amazing job getting where you are. I hope it all goes ahead with your doco. What I am really interested in is the psychological side of losing such a lot of weight. You briefly touched on it in your vid. The actual head space of losing so much weight, not just the physical aspect. Good luck with it all and keep up the great work.
i believe that in successful weight loss and maintanance you need to use the equation of 50% psychology&education30%diet20%exercise.thats the winning sum
Hey champ...good work on the show...I hated the show personally but thought the peeps and the general idea was a great one. Question though, was it as frustrating to be there as it was to watch them try and turn you guys against each other?
I watched about two ep's before I realised that getting fit was in the back seat to trying to get the cast to back stab each other
hey adro i think this is a great idea because it will give people an insight to some thing they ba need later on. i hope it makes it i really want to see it
that might be where it ends up but i want it to be about the weight and weight loss not about the biggest loser, i dont want it lost in that if i can avoid it.
Hey Adro Well done!!!! Hope your docco goes really well and the tv networks have the brains to air it for you. Loosing weight is a huge issue for alot of the population these days. Anyway well gone you have done GREAT!!!
thanyou so much and i agree, this is all about making the point of getting the message out there that it is ok to lose weight, i know that sounds silly but thats the point!
Hey Adro, great work mate - good luck with the surgery and get it happenin' for TV. There are 1000's who would need similar surgery, so get it shown man.!!
How much did your surgery cost? Did you pay for it out of your biggest loser winnings? I can't say I have not been tempted, but the $7000 price tag around here is a bit prohibitive.
i have paid for alot of it but it is because i am not on private health,if i was between that and medicare it would take care of a good whack of it, well at least in refund anyway.
it has cost me a bit so far, i dont exactly as im not finished but i know that if i was in private health it would have made a difference because they would cover the hospital and medicare have some rebates for some of the srugery also.
I am always amazed by the differences in people's bodies to weight loss. I lost over 200 pounds, but my skin isn't as loose as yours (I have a video that shows my loose skin) at least around your arm. I am glad you got the help you wanted, and I hope the TV takes you up on the offer.
Excellent1 I cannot wait to see the doco, and I wish you SO much luck in your discussions with the networks. I am in awe that you had so little pain, Adro! But that is great for you, I am sure there will be plenty of pain once Ray gets you back in the gym! ;)
The good thing about this documentary is that it won't be just about the actual surgery. He'll be speaking to people who have had it done, as well as discussing the effects of obesity and weight loss
Great video Adro and your looking wonderful. I would def. love to see the whole documentary shown on t.v. especially since I followed your journey right from the first episode. Hope all goes well with the rest of the surgery, good luck and again your an inspiration
thankyous gwen, i hope to get the full message through my eyes across with this surgery it will make a big difference when it gets out there as a message and for the inspiration others find in me, thats the greatest part of this whole journey i think. knowing ive helped others
Hope all goes well, How much time does it takes to heal?.
Also how did u give him that narrow waist Rayk:P I kept watching the video trying to convience myself it is really Adro lol man he is in a great shape, Really Rayk u should spread some of ur techniques often on the board:)
thans dodyangel,I am determined to get this doco off the ground, it is in the stages where i make the trailer and then pitch it, the trailer will be on youtube asap! keep watching this space.
i think ray will have to keep up.haha i will be back in action after christmas, i have already seen all of my cuts turn to scars in 3 weeks so a healthy body makes a huge difference
i would really like to thank Dr Mark Kohout my surgeon and my film crew Laurance curson and Adrian Irwin, my wife Sam and Odessa; as well as all my family and friends.your support is phenominal
Adro, you look great! You have come so far from when we first saw you on TBL. WELL DONE!
One question for you. What is the scaring/incision site like on your stomach? That is one thing that scares me about this surgery. I guess in the end, its got to be worth it though.
well my surgeon Dr Mark Kohout did an amazing job and it is already after a few weeks non existant, the scar is smaller then some of the scars i have from cuts, and it just happens to go all the way around me? better the scars of surgery then the scars of obesity.
Great vid, hope your next surgery is just as successful. I really do hope the networks follow up on this and help provide inspiration to thousands who struggle with weight issue. come on guys how about acting in the public interest.
that is the idea to show the country a little more then we did during TBL as this isnt there for the entertainment its there for the rality behind the effects of weight and weight loss
handsome.......

In the last ep of Biggest Loser when you were asked if you had any advice for people who wanna lose weight and you said "Don't Wait" it really struck a nerve and I think this documentary would be highly profitable and aquire high ratings. Networks would be foolish to turn it down.

Hey Adro,
What you are doing is amazing.

You are very inspiring. xo

Get a good accountant Adro. With this being made into a documentary, there is a good chance that surgery costs should be tax deductible.
Well done mate! You are an inspiration.

Adro, you are an insperation to all, i would really like to see the doco as a tummy tuck is something i have always wanted (when i win lotto). You look amazing and should be very proud of what you have done. Well done and keep up the good work.

thankyou the doco would be covering payment options as well as many other aspects.

Aussienut1234 5 years ago
i believe that in successful weight loss and maintanance you need to use the equation of 50% psychology&education30%diet20%exercise.thats the winning sum
adrosarnelli 5 years ago
Hey champ...good work on the show...I hated the show personally but thought the peeps and the general idea was a great one. Question though, was it as frustrating to be there as it was to watch them try and turn you guys against each other?
I watched about two ep's before I realised that getting fit was in the back seat to trying to get the cast to back stab each other

Hey Adro, why don't 10 use your doco as a prelude to the new series of the biggest loser?? BTW, keep up the fantstic work u r going.. luv ya x
valiantbabe 5 years ago
that might be where it ends up but i want it to be about the weight and weight loss not about the biggest loser, i dont want it lost in that if i can avoid it.
adrosarnelli 5 years ago
my fear in that is that 10 want to make a BL special i want this to be so much more then that.

Hey Adro Well done!!!! Hope your docco goes really well and the tv networks have the brains to air it for you. Loosing weight is a huge issue for alot of the population these days. Anyway well gone you have done GREAT!!!
aussienikki30 5 years ago
thanyou so much and i agree, this is all about making the point of getting the message out there that it is ok to lose weight, i know that sounds silly but thats the point!

Hey Adro, great work mate - good luck with the surgery and get it happenin' for TV. There are 1000's who would need similar surgery, so get it shown man.!!
rollerdreaming 5 years ago
thanks heaps that the reason why i want to get it made so that others out there can see the stoy and see it real with someone they can relate to.
thanks

i think it is great to see that there will be a tv show with the real story not just the real gory stuff.
well done champion effort

How much did your surgery cost? Did you pay for it out of your biggest loser winnings? I can't say I have not been tempted, but the $7000 price tag around here is a bit prohibitive.
bowulf 5 years ago
i have paid for alot of it but it is because i am not on private health,if i was between that and medicare it would take care of a good whack of it, well at least in refund anyway.
adrosarnelli 5 years ago
it has cost me a bit so far, i dont exactly as im not finished but i know that if i was in private health it would have made a difference because they would cover the hospital and medicare have some rebates for some of the srugery also.

I am always amazed by the differences in people's bodies to weight loss. I lost over 200 pounds, but my skin isn't as loose as yours (I have a video that shows my loose skin) at least around your arm. I am glad you got the help you wanted, and I hope the TV takes you up on the offer.
bowulf 5 years ago
yeah i had pretty loose skin before i lost the weight so it just got worse, congrats on your effort for loosing 200pnds well done

adrosarnelli 5 years ago
Adro, you look great! You have come so far from when we first saw you on TBL. WELL DONE!
One question for you. What is the scaring/incision site like on your stomach? That is one thing that scares me about this surgery. I guess in the end, its got to be worth it though.
Onwards and upwards eh?!
farfallakisses 5 years ago
well my surgeon Dr Mark Kohout did an amazing job and it is already after a few weeks non existant, the scar is smaller then some of the scars i have from cuts, and it just happens to go all the way around me? better the scars of surgery then the scars of obesity.
adrosarnelli 5 years ago
I agree, call them battle scars! :)
MelDiva 4 years ago
I saw some of the footage from the surgery today and it is pretty graphic!
RayK101 5 years ago
hahaha imagine how i felt watching and then realising that it was ME they were doing it to.
adrosarnelli 5 years ago
Great vid, hope your next surgery is just as successful. I really do hope the networks follow up on this and help provide inspiration to thousands who struggle with weight issue. come on guys how about acting in the public interest.
SteveFinn44 5 years ago
that is the idea to show the country a little more then we did during TBL as this isnt there for the entertainment its there for the rality behind the effects of weight and weight loss
