Stumbled on this very informative (and somewhat entertainemenizational (my new word of the day)) video. Thanks for putting this "out there" to help clear up simple things. This is the clearest explanation of the differences between "monetizing" and "partner" programs at YouTube I've found.

Do you have a tutorial or can you tell me how to set up a block on my computer so I don't accidentally click one of my own ads and get rejectificated for life?

BTW Making up new words is catchy!

@thetimbertailor Both firefox and Chrome have their own versions of adblock. Simply go to Google and type the words Adblock and the type of browser you have.

@WeeklyVideoable What it means is do not let your family and friends click on your ads. I don't care how much they want to, lay down the law. Do not let their good intentions screw you out of adsense for life.

Absolutely no clicking on your ads and make sure that your friends and family know this as well.

@Dekztique I'm under 18 and I monetize my videos (other channel; don't bother clicking my name here). You just need a parent or guardian to make the AdSense account and then link it to your YouTube account. Works great :D

@FlyingDutchmanNY From what I hear that's illegal... because to be a partner you need an ad-sense account in your name... since it's plugged into your channel... because if you're under 18, you're not considered old enough to legally own anything...

@CJCA915 Well Google people helped me set it up so I figured it was OK. And they know what my age is (it said on my channel back then and they can probably see it on my account) but they still linked it with my mom's adsense account. Also, people like GeekAndrew (who is fourteen right now, like me) became partner way before they were eighteen, and that was never a problem AFAIK.

@FlyingDutchmanNY All I know is I've explained this to my dad, and he said that it would considered illegal... since the YouTube account is yours, the ad-sense would have to be in your name as well... if you're the one profiting with it...

@TheJFred1000 In order to be a Partner you must have an adsense account,even if you don't wish to monetize videos. In order to have an adsense you have to be 18 or over.  Just be patient.

Thanks for all your advice. I'm at the middle 'partner' program where I can opt to earn from all my videos but i'm really interested in being able to choose my own thumbnails and banner. I've applied four times (I keep cancelling) and they've never refused me and have kept me hanging on without a decision for over a year now. I will delete any audio swap now thanks to your advice and hope that helps.

Hey nice video! I found this very helpful. When I monetize my videos on youtube I don't get any money from them. I've monetized atleast 20 videos and have waited a month. When I go to my adsense account on google, it says I've earned $0.00.I've gotten the email from adsense and I can monetize my videos. I upload video games and normally I put a commentary over them. Then when I fill out the reports I said I own all content in this video. I've never gotten an email from them about thereportthanks
