  • wow... looks pretty much like the A300 cockpit

  • How did you get into the cockpit?( please reply)

  • the plane was originaly designed as an army plane to transport troops/supplies. Because of the lack of intrest they changed it for passenger service, making it very populair cause of its ability to take of on short runways. It's being used a lot for example on London City airport.

  • i still havent figured out why it would have 4 engines for a small plane.

  • @seatgurus

    ...because they couldn't fit 6!

  • @seatgurus If I remember, it was to reduce energy consumption. Not really sure how. It also allowed to take off on shorter distance. Again, I don't know how but I'm pretty sure that is why. They wouldn't do it for no reason !

  • @seatgurus various reasons for 4 engines, it was a designed in the 60s when engines weren't powerful enough, 4 small engines are quieter than 2 large ones (hence its nickname the whisper jet) and 4 engines gives better redundancy than 2. @Barrow077 4 Engines actually burn more than 2 overall.

  • The MCP is nearly similar to the B737, only the CWS is missing.

  • The Swiss watch tells you everything! :)

  • winter?

  • it must be a great aircraft - the cockpit is similiar to B737

  • @JohnyE007 ...so wrong

  • @frieraida I meant the engine instruments (N1, N2 indications) :)

  • very nice video! ^^

  • what r the small yellow balls attached to the metal bar in the middle of the windscreen? how did you get to sit in and watch like that? gd vid

  • in the airbus these "balls" are used to set the correct seating position - maybe they hve the same purpose in the avro

  • the balls are to aid the pilot and co pilot to correctly position their seat. when you have 2 balls lined up the seat height and pitch is correct
