  • Wow. I can hardly believe that was you in those before pictures.

  • I love your video, I just decided to become vegan yesterday and I hope to have good results.

  • animals still die if you just reduce.. but its better than nothing..

  • you look absolutely amazing!

I am considering this as a serious option, the only thing that worries me is that I don't think I could replace milk. Have you any advice for alternatives?

  • soy or rice milk:)

  • that's stuff is expensive.

  • not where i live..

  • well, ok. ^^;

  • Hi there congratulations on making a change in your life. Could your success also be do to this decision to make a change and do something positive for yourself? I think just getting out of one's "comfort zone" or rut can have similar effects. I was once going to cycle around NZ and trained for 6 months before finally quitting my job and going for it...unfortunately the plans fell through due to financial constraints, but i never ever felt better because I had a goal in mind, a purpose.

  • I've just become vegetarian =) after 3 days I have more energy and actually haven't even thought of meat lol.

  • I too started to become obese before I changed my diet to vegetarian. :) Fortunately it was quite clear to me that eating dairy and eggs is also problematic ethically, so I didn't eat much of them.

After the change, when whole grains with dahl became my staple food, the fat is just melted off. I also had high blood-pressure. The doctors told me that it's "genetic", and I have to take drugs indefinitely... ridiculous. :)

My digestion improved too; I had much more discomfort previously.

  • wow!! you remind me so much of myself =) i also had some very nasty health issues and then just to give it a try i decided to go vegan. I was vegan for 6 months and those were some of the happiest days in my life. Then i moved to Spain with my other family and they all eat meat like crazy and they convinced me to eat it again. Needles to say i felt like crap, and my health problems came back. So i just decided to go vegan again and stick to it =) you r a wonderful source of inspiration

  • That is fantastic! Yeah, I cannot imagine going back to how I was before, I felt like I was aging 5 years for every 1 year :-(

  • Respect!

  • Hi! Great video. At last someone put a movie on YT that shows how veganism did help her (or him in another case). :)

Way 2 go, TheVeganicWitch, I admire your piece, I like your idea, I support your will with my words of respect, I subscribed to your channel.

Keep up the good work. Greetings from Poland.

    Go Vegan, folks! :)

  • What a nice story.

    You are very cute.

  • I am want to go vegan too, I am having a hard time at the moment because my family eats meat and it's dificult to keep a vegan lifestyle on this kind

of environment ...but any way...you look great ...very beautyful video...

  • Well i didn't go completely Veg. But i've turned over a less of a mcdonalds, whatburger leaf no more of that crap. But good for you, you look much better as the video develops whatever is in the mass public food is killing us basically so i belive. Great Job.

  • I have seen this video before and may have already commented but this video really moves me!

  • I hope going full time helps with my chronic insomnia too. It sucks. Really, really sucks. And I never say sucks.

  • How rude! LOL ;-P

  • ggggreatt video!! You are inspirational^^

  • Thank you :-)

  • I love your video. It's deep. I'm one month old...

  • This is brilliant!

  • Cheers, I did an updated one at 12 months. Have u seen it?

  • WOW

That was amazing! I knew veganism was healthier, but this is better than i expected! Kudos to you!

I'm also a vegan, coming up to my one year anniversary =]

  • Yay :-)

  • Awesome transformation!! It's amazing how well your body responded to a vegan diet.

I should show my mother this-- (She was told a veggie diet may help alleviate her arthiritis symtoms)

A plant based diet is super healthy and you've proved it!! You're a great example of vegan health

**vegan hugs & best wishes to you!**

    ((( Jess )))

  • MWAAAAAAAAAA!

I'm coming up to 11 months now, I'm going to do something special to mark the 12 month point. I dunno what yet but I will definately make another video on my progress, which is still going well :-)

  • I didn't much weight when I went vegan, I'm still fat. I've been vegan for years. too much vegan junk food. lol

  • He he he, yes you can still indulge on a vegan diet. Unfortunately, with more people going vegan they are making more tasty treats for us and its very tempting to eat too much of them sometimes. You just go to show that not all vegans are scrawny ;-P

  • Have you considered eating raw vegan and seeing where that could take you?

  • Yes I have, unfortuntely I just moved to a place with a cold climate and will have to wait until summer to try. Raw diets can be very stressful on the body when undertaken in a cold climate. I have found in the past that I do feel better with plenty of raw greens in my diet, I do worry however about getting enough carbs and fats in a raw diet as I can never get myself to eat large amounts of fruit or nuts :-)

  • What an inspiring video! This is just what I needed to see. I too recently saw Earthlings and although I am already vegetarian, I know that veganism is the next step for me..

    Thanks again :)

  • That's awesome to hear, I'm gonna friend you so we can keep in touch. Feel free to contact me any time if you get stuck :-)

  • no way!!!, in all your videos you look like another person, amazing! cooooooooooor

  • I know! :-)

  • I tried both without knowing about the blood typ thing and it is no opportunity for me personally.

I was feeling very tiered and powerless after 2-3month (iron and HB was ok) 2-3month after changing back I was feeling much better. Know I eat less meet (about 1-2 times a week) and I watch out that it comes from farms around here that take care for their animal (even if it costs a lot more).

  • Is your blood type is "A "becoming a vegetarian was a good decision for your health.

However if your zero like me it would be a bad decision for my health.

  • Actually I asked the blood type question on a vegan forum I used to frequent. There were plenty of O type vegans, all stated they have had not issues :)

  • But yes, I am a type A personally :)

  • im a proud meat eater and will stay that way

  • What was the point in posting that? LOL

  • I think you look a million times healthier now! Skin, hair everything looks in much better condition.

  • Indeed, you should take a bow! Brilliant video, brilliant message, and you look incredibly well!

    Bravo to you!

  • Thank you sweetie!!! :)

  • wow. i would have never guessed looking at your current videos that you were once overweight and felt 10 years older. you are like the poster child for vegan transformation. i'm going to share your vid w. a carnivore friend of mine who is definitely in need of an overhaul. hopefully, he'll be inspired.

  • Yes, that's me, poster child for a movement!!! LOL I hope he finds it interesting. The animal agriculture industry have done a good job on us haven't they, people still think if you go vegan you're going to die of rickets. I have friends on here who have been vegan for 20 years and are in perfect health :)

  • thank you for making this video

i am almost vegan i could not say no to an invitement for pizza and in the margarine is milk but i do my best do an assertivity training to learn to say no and my own opinion love for life freedom for animals winny

  • Thanks for your comment, do you know about casomorphines in milk, and especially cheese? Look it up, its why people can't give up dairy even when they have given up everything else :)

  • no....

  • LOL - very witty comment :)

  • love the radiohead music as well.

  • Yay, this is one of my favourite songs :-)

  • i think i might turn vegan

  • Awesome idea :-) I knew a guy once, in my pre-vegan days who weighed 120 kilos (that was pretty heavy for his height, he was only about 5'9"), he went vegan and 6 months later he weighed 60kgs. He lots half his body weight in 6 months whilst eating as much as he wanted! :-)

  • Wow sweetie...just watched this for the first time and it is excellent! I didn't realize that "Earthlings" was the turning point for you too. I can see also that your skin looks fantastic..must be the dermatitis is gone? I have to say though, I think you were really gorgeous in the before pics as well as now but I'm glad you're feeling better..that's great! Can't wait to start feeling better myself..I do but the diabetes is still there so I have my suck-y days. You are inspiring! (and cute..shh)

  • Eathlings has been LOTS of people's turning point! I think that film is a whole revolution in 90 minutes. I hope your diabetes clears up soon, or atleast gets better, and thank you for your compliments! :-)

  • wow..love ur video!! it really spoke to me!!

i've been vegan for about a year now!! it feels great!! loss lots of wieght!!! i see better!! and my health problems became over with and now i'm happy !!! well bye peace and take care!!=D

  • Yay :) That is fantastic to hear!!! I'm so happy to hear so many people talk about how much veganism has helped them, whether they were actaully sick or not before they made the change :)

  • Wow! I just saw the film Earthlings last night for the first time and seriously considering making a good effort to go Vegan if not completely then mostly. I do like to fish and eat the fish I catch myself. I am impressed with your story. I hated the suffering I witnessed. I have always loved animals and respected life. I would like to be part of the resistance to this troubling industrialized slaughter and cruelty.

  • Thank you for your comment! It is an amazing film isn't it, I'm so glad I saw it. I implore you to stop killing fish, there is much more to them then meets the eye, and just because they live in water does not make them a lower form of life. Hunting is hunting. I'll send you a video I saw against fishing, if I can find it. I think this is a growing and vibrant movement full of people from all walks of life, it seems that more and more people go vegan everyday which is very exciting! :-)

  • I was a big meateater and since a few weeks I'm a meatleaver. I have to say I feel much better! I still have to sin sometimes and that reflects immediantly. (Diarrea, zits, boils and sad feelings) I will be a total vegetarian soon. Meat tastes more worse everytime I fall back. My tonsils are picking up the real taste now I guess. I hope your vid will inspire lot's of people! I wished my parents were veg's when I was young. About food the were very cliché. I think the world is really changing. :D

  • That's excellent news! Soon you will probably fall into the habit of eating vegetarian, and feel better and better with time. Just remember that what you are eating is a corpse, that's pretty gross! And if you want some help in kicking the habit go to my channel and watch Earthlings, that will sort you out!

    Thanks heaps for commenting!!! :)

  • There's some knob (cow farmer) over on the 'Vegetarian Why?' post who claims that he knows of 'no illness associated with eating meat.' To anyone interested, please feel free to pay him a visit:)

  • LOL...Well he can have all of our old illnesses if he wants them so much! I'm not in the mood to fight with idiots tonight :)

  • My son is a life long vegetarian, now vegan (by his choice), because of how horrified I was at six when I made the meat/animal connection. I never wanted a child of mine to go through that kind of trauma. They're never too young to know the truth. At 14, now, he's happy, healthy, strong, brilliant AND compassionate. Going veg is a win/win situation.

  • What a fantastic story :) I'm going to raise my kids vegan if I have any!

  • Great video!!! Thank you for caring.

  • How could I not! Thank you for caring too :)

  • I've had hyperthyroid problems since I was 9 and my vegan diet at the age of 11 eased my symptoms to a point where all I take is a daily dose of flax oil and a tea designed for hyper and hypo thyroid disease and have no need for harsh medications(like tapazole, methimazole etc) of which after research I found out that it does great damage to the liver. There is without a doubt greater benefits in a vegan diet.

  • I have hypothroid disease and if you really want to see some interesting information check out fluroide alert (dot) org or my playlist on fluroide - I know I was very surprised and disgusted - now I only drink distilled water. Let me know what you discover!

  • Yeah, flouride is terrible for you in a multitude of ways. Its a bit like the whole aspartame thing tho, people are taking in all these poisons and they don't even know :(

  • Thats awesome news!!!! Veganism is awesome :)

Have you checked out ArnoldsWay and seen all the diseases people have been cured from or had dramatic improvements in through veganism?

  • awesome vid ^_^ congratulations on going vegan and on your weight loss ^_^ i have been vegan for 3 months i feel sooooo much heather and happier ^_^

  • Thank you! And a BIG congrats on going vegan yourself :)

  • Great vid ! You had me at "Earthlings" my all time favourite - I think it should be shown in schools at age 10 - people need to see what this world is doing to our animals, our planet and our health. Thank you for this video 5/5.....

Why is it so many people think I'm crazy... most won't even watch Earthlings.... it is the BEST documentary I have ever seen.... oh, and of course, I am vegan too!

    Cheers

    dd

  • I couldn't agree more, on all points, except that 10 may be a little young as they have no choice in what they eat...it could traumatise them quite badly if they see that film and then go home to porkchops and macaroni cheese! :( I think maybe around 15, cos then they will be more capable of standing up to their parents and being able to become vegan :)

  • You're right ! When I thing back (way back) I had much more control when I was 15 over being 10. Hopefully there will someday be a new generation of mom's and dad's that raise vegan children.....

  • Someone gave your comment a thumbs down? I gave it a thumbs up to balence it out! I will be one of this generation when I have kids, as will many others. More and more young people are going vegan! There are more of us every day :)

  • OH how can I forget to mention, I feel great that I am not contributing to any animal suffering, abuse, torture, and slaughter. I sleep soooooo much better at night knowing because of ME close to 100 animals per year are not killed for MY consumption.

  • I know...that is something people don't see isn't it; that even though we get frustrated and feel sorrow for what is going on inside we feel so much better because we are now part of the solution, instead of part of the problem :)

  • I been vegan for 4 months now also or maybe longer and I feel great. I lost over 57 lbs of fat and replaced it with approximately 20 lbs of muscle through 1 and a half hour weight training 3 times per week and 30 minutes of cardio 5 times per week.

Its that easy. I feel so much more energetic, alive, and healthier. I have no more lower back and feet pain. I feel like im in my teens again !!! GO VEGAN !! its the healthiest thing for your body and mind.

  • I stoped 4 months ago one of the best things I ever did for Myself and Our fellow Beings.

    PEACE and LOVE!

  • Wonderful video!!! You really do look so much healthier. I have been a long time member of PCRM(Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine) and they are looking for people like you to tell their success stories after becoming vegan. I am going to send the info about it because I think you are ideal for them.

  • Oh god I feel so persuaded to become vegan there is nothing to stop me but the fact that I am LAME and LAZY and I suck at being a vegetarian. I dunno if I'd ever be able to be vegan. I try my best I promise I just wish I didn't suck so bad

  • Man, I am the laziest person in the universe and I have NO will power at all...If I can do it so can you :-p

I watched Earthlings and it made my laziness and lack of willpower a complete non-issue! I would rather eat sh!t the eat an egg or cheese, and I was totally addicted to dairy before. Have you watched Earthlings yet?

  • KUDOS!! Congrats on making the most important change you could. You are beautiful - inside and out!!

  • Very good news you always hear meateaters about healtrisks when becoming Veg.

You are an example, it is the other way around and meateaters should get worried about their diet. Maximum stars for you, animals need our help and the people that don't know this yet need our help too.

  • that was a wonderful video! thanks for posting! =)

  • Hi,

I'm confused by your statement that you were severely overweight before. Call me a blind American, but you don't look like you'd have ever fit into the category of "overweight" before, let alone the "severe" end.

Also, I'm interested in why you cut your hair. I have very long hair also, and I"m always being told by ppl to just cut it, to "let go" etc. I'm not planning to cut it, but I'm curious about where the haircut fits into all of this for you.

  • I didn't say I was severely overweight, I was overweight and continuously getting bigger. It was the constantly getting bigger bit that worried me. If I had hit a stable weight and stayed at that it wouldn't have worried me. There were actually a lot of things I enjoyed about being a bit more curvy :)

I cut my hair because I wanted to and I had been putting it off because my partner was in love with it. But I was sick of it and felt really inconvenienced by it. It was symbolic of other changes

  • I had made internally in my attitudes in relation to my attitude to life.

Just to clarify, I am not saying thin is better or anything like that. But when I changed to a healthy diet I became thin and I was thin when I was younger when I was eating a mostly veggie diet at home. I think being thin is natural and healthy for me, it isn't so much for others...we are all different :)

  • Hmmm. I just watched again, and I don't know where *I* got the "severe" part from either! Maybe because there seemed to be so much focus on the weight (as there would be, since its such an obvious change).

Re: Hair. I don't mean to say it doesn't look good both ways. I think I'm over-sensitive about that particular issue because (@ least in US) ppl can be very biased against long hair.

  • I really wanted to show the change as much as possible, and I could only show what you can see with your eyes. It is harder to show how much my depression has lifted or something like that.

And BTW I loved my long hair for ages, but in the end I had to always wear it up cos it got tangled or got in the way and it was a pain in the ass to maintain so I gave it up. I'm not against the hair at all, 5 years was enough for me...I'm sure I will have it super long again during my life time :)

  • AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!

Can't say it enough. Thanks so much for making this. It is incredible what going vegan can do for your health, and your soul.

    You are beautiful :-)

  • *Blushes*

  • Sister Jessmine, OMG what a powerful Vlog Hon. What a change in body and spirt. Take the word to the street Hon...You inspire me to become totaly vegan. The joys of being healthy.

    Hugs Hon....

    Sister Paula

P.S SIX STARS NOT FIVE SIX.......

  • Do it hon - you will have no regrets!! :)

  • you look absoutly awesome!, one could tell that in the pictures of the old you, you were not happy. and now you do look 10 years younger.

    you go girl!

  • I'm going, I'm going, noone can stop me going! LOL

Thanks for the awesome comment! MWAAAA :)

  • Far out, I forgot to mention the insomnia...Probably because I have had it back again lately due to some nasty issues happening at the moment in my life. But yeah, I noticed a regular sleep pattern emerging for the first time...ever I think actually. I was an insomniac in primary school LOL

Good to hear from you Ducky, and that you are also seeing similar health benefits!!! Awesome :D

  • BRILLIENT VID! You've made a wonderful transformation :) And I love your hair :)

Earthling's is an AMAZING movie - everyone should see it!

Since going vegan I've felt young but with added maturity.. and I feel liberated and overall happier with myself and how I treat others and the environment.

  • Yes, I think actually the one thing that improved my life the most was that I recovered 110% from my depression. Afterall, it doesn't matter how healthy you are otherwise, if you feel terrible and hate yourself etc you cannot enjoy your life. Thanks for the comment, and your support Seppie :)

  • How open and honest can one video get, WOW!!! thank you for your courage to share...ur AMAZING!!! LUV AND HUGS,

  • I actually didn't realise the full magnitude of how much I had gotten better until I watched this after making it. I watched it about 20 times, it really put things in perspective. Even though I have been stressed lately due to some personal issues outside my control and therefore not sleeping or eating as well as I should even when I felt the worst it was nothing compared to how I felt then. I just felt dead, I was actually embarrassed to be seen, I looked way worse then the pics I show cos...

  • (cont) at my worst I didn't want to be photographed. It was a struggle to get motivated to walk a short distance to get to the shop and I lost all pride in myself and stopped even brushing my hair. My recent transformation is part of my recovery, letting go of the old and getting on with the truly charmed life I have now been blessed with. Thank you for your feedback mythebau, it is always appreciated MWAAAAA :)
