  • the music at 3:17 is some of my favorite music in the game

  • @0:45 I think u can go in there twice, buddy

@RookFrjosa I always pronounced it "Sesix" for some reason

  • 3:17 Reminds me Shadowgate, the Courtyard theme.

  • This is still one of my favorite titles on the NES. Timeless stuff.

  • You left out the rocking title screen tune... disappointing.

  • The first song reminds me of "Giant steps" by John Coltrane.

  • Love the game... But how the HECK do you pronounce it?!?!?

  • @corjonbett I think... Sexyz?

  • Hirohiko Takayama the composer of this game favorited this video.

  • I got to talk to the composer of this music. He said he used hex numbers in MS-DOS to write the music.

  • @Doommaster1994 are you serious?? You met the composer of this music...? I must know more....

  • Yes. I got to talk to him through facebook. He still writes music and he has it on iTunes.

  • @Doommaster1994 Hey my friends and I have been playing xexyz and we really like the music.

I'm a musician myself and I really dig the stuff.

Do you think you could hook me up with the composer? I would love to tell him myself.

  • Like I said, you can talk to him via Facebook. He also has a website too which can be found on the Video Game Music Preservation Foundation Wiki under Hirohiko Takayama's profile.

  • This game is great, rewarding for those fortunate enough to find out about it...definitely a cult classic.

  • Xexyz. kirby & abadox had some of the best color schemes of the N.E.S. era. At least. that's what I think ...

  • Game looks like a lot of fun. But why does your character go invisible sometimes after getting hit? Seems really annoying.

  • the frame rate of the software used to record the video is slightly off from the frame refresh rate of the NES emulation software he is using to play the game itself. thought playing NES games themselves sometimes produced this effect as well. put those three things together and thats why the character turns invisible quite often in this video.

  • Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the info.

  • There's an R&B song that has a Xexyz type beat. I've heard it a couple times on the radio but could never get the name of the song. The song it resembles, for some reason, is missing from this video. It's the tune when you first use the mech suit. The best one in my opinion.

  • I remember the song. Trey Songz- Can't help but wait. Sounds like Xexyz

  • damn, my brother and i used to play this game as if our lives depended on it lol

  • This music brings back good memories, aaaaaahhhhhhh!!

  • this is a great game i still have an original copy. hudson soft was great do they still make games? great music!

  • In fact, they are still around to this very day.

  • Good music, XD never got past like lvl 3...

  • Im like the song to min 2:07

    My favorite

    :P

    Greatings

  • Area 5-1 has the best theme in my opinion, though Area 1-1 is pretty good, too. :D

  • That theme plays from 3:17-3:58.

  • ive always wondered, how do you pronounce the name of this game?

  • Zex-zees. I still call it X-E-X-Y-Z. It's such a great game.

  • i love this game and remember its music being cool. is the whole soundtrack to this game just the same 4 minutes split into segments and looped for each level?

  • There are more tracks, I just picked a few out of the bunch.
