That would be so cool if when they were curling during the olympics or something, the annoucer would say things like: And he is having some trouble with the fiendish thingy. And EVERYONE called it that all the time and we all lived happily ever after. :)

Supposedly they were all really drunk when they filmed this scene. It looks like they were having a really good time. This is one of my favorite scenes from any film, especially the "White Cliffs of Dover" gag which they reprise at the end of the film. Great movie.

The reference to a "Fiendish Thingy" is particularly funny. That came about when they were at the Reeperbahn and George hurled up his dinner on the floor. No one EVER cleaned it up and so it shrunk to an obscene little disk on the floor that John called a "Fiendish Thingy."
