  • ah....all the times crazy glue has saved one of my guitars' life,,,,,,,,

  • Normally I'd say the guitar was not worth going to such lengths, but since it belonged to his Dad, I can understand going the distance for sentimental reasons.

$500 is cheap for such extensive repair work.

  • so with those cracks in the sidewall, after you super glue them can you sand and refinish if you wanted?

  • @CKS5000

the super glue vanishes in most cases and you sand and polish

    looks fine

  • "War" scars on an instrument are cool as long as they don't impact the playing ability... Buddy had made a good choice in not bothering with full restoration. ;)

  • Let's see. - 6 episodes to remove a neck that was falling off anyway; things are really blistering along.

  • so what is that Dave the headstock with no tuning peg holes at 2:16 ?

  • $500.00!?! More than the guitars worth. Or ever was..

  • I have watched this from episode 1. I can only wish I had your ability to repair a beautiful old guitar. More power to your elbow.

  • @Nealsey

    hey Thanks !!!

  • as a True Canadian, your Heart is Pure Golden: you'd give out an EYE of your sockets just to get those wooden crafts back to life!

youa re teh most noble demonstration of Care towards Music

  • @awfulguitarplucker

    that's a great complement.

    Thank you :)

  • at 2.16 you can clearly see the headstock , but no tuning peg holes - wtf? :L

  • I think this guy has taken one too many hits of acid

  • I can' t stop looking at your vids, they're so interesting , and I learn so much. Simply awesome!

  • @davey4557 I'm a Brit so the 'value' of money doesn't translate (and I still don't know how it turns out because I'm not at the end), but it strikes me he's a lucky bunny. It couldn't have cost much to acquire - because either it came from his loft 'free', or he'd pay diddly-squat for a Martin in that condition.

I've got 3 but the oldest is from 2005 - love 'em to bits, but am fascinated seeing the inside.

  • @greenslime27

It belonged to his Dad who has passed. Sat in an attic for over 10 years broken.

I do these repairs because I like to. It's not what i do for a living, unfortunately.

If I don't charge people something the wife will kill me

I'm sure I spent 60 to 80 hours on the repair

    Cheers !!!

  • The whole repair for $500 isn't a lot of money for the level of skill required. Is that a realistic figure?

I'm watching the series in order and it's absolutely fascinating. Thanks

  • the more I watch these the more I am impressed

  • Oh please - as if U can't clean up a friggin' bottle & need 2 buy a new compressor after every job - please =)) Painting cost is all labor & everybody on Earth knows it. B real.

  • Hay I have a question? Do you own any harmony brand guitars? Have you ever had to do repairs on a harmony brand guitar?

  • @burntvalve86

    I have a few

    I've repaired many
