A Danse Macarbe is a device used to remind us all of the inevitability of death..as the end of this wonderful cartoon demonstrates! She thought it was all just a dream, but no, there was Death at the end just biding his time..fabulous music and brilliantly realised in this animation!! Five stars!

this was briliant! I love this musical piece so much. It's so beautiful. This video was amazing too.

I remember first hearing this in 3rd grade. I remember mostly everyone being weirded out but I instantly fell in love with it. :D

I remember we got a few worksheets with very poor quality grainy drawings of them of images portrayed in the song, and Death looks much different. I think there was a video too, but not this one. Death had a black shroud. Anyone know where I could find it?
