  • Many thanks for the kind words Pandusauce. That position you describe with the feet crossed is difficult to escape indeed, but it is also very difficult for the opponent to advance on you. Your priority becomes to block chokes and americanas as they can't really spin for armbars.

    I usually frame against both hips with straight arm frames and shake/shrimp out my hips from under them. This has a good chance of sliding out a little bit and give me some room.

    I think I'll make another vid :)

  • This is great thanks for the video! If the person in mount is just in regular mount I like to push the knee with my elbow bring my knee through and come to half guard but this escape usually leads to them coming to seated mount! This video had some great ideas when they resist your push but I was wondering how do you escape when they cross their ankles underneath you almost like upside down closed guard any suggestions?
