  • I received an unsolicited text offer on my TracFone: I buy 450 minutes I get 950 when using a promo code. it was after spending $79.99 for the 450 entering the pin and promo code I was asked to call to complete the transaction when I learn "fine print" -- offer had expired, there were restrictions and exclusions. A RIP OFF BE CAREFUL

  • @jackieb376 the scam for seniors is simple. Make cards tha look all the same. And make tgem buy them thinking they are adding minutes to they phone. Later let custonerservvicce to tell them there is norhing they can do. If u re asenir look for other option cua these conpany is only eadeachs!

  • Fuck trac fone. Beware is a fucking skam.

  • @romanalejandroreyes How is it a scam? thanks

  • If you are wanting more time and good value then you must get the Tracfone double minutes card. You literally get a free minute for every minute that you purchase

  • Nevermind being perfect for seniors, I got it for my kids. I don't really want to encourage them to be on the cellphone all the time so this is just the thing for them to have in case of emergencies and I also know that I can contact them whenever I need to

  • @chicagolove305, the hearing aid compatibility works great! That was one of the main reasons I got it because my mom uses a hearing aid. The phone is easy for them to read as well as hear I promise! Totally worth more than just $7 a month if you ask me lol

  • That is correct! A piece of mind is what has giving my Mother SVC a cellphone design for seniors. No contracts to sign, no worries. I do have a question like chicago love305. It seems that the hearing compability botton is damage, I try connecting it to SVC tools, but takes me back to the main menu. Can someone give me any ideas? If not I will try to call SVC.com and let them tell me what is going on.

  • I'd been hearing about this phone, but I'm not too sure how the hearing aid compatibility works! Anyone have details? I would like to get this for my mom but I don't want to spend the money if it's not worth it.

  • This looks like an amazing deal for senior citizens! My parents will love it, so affordable and it will make a huge difference to their lives in terms of safety and security and keeping up with the family.. Great idea tracfone!

  • What I like about the Tracfone SVC Samsung T155G phone is that it is light and comfortable to carry in my pocket at all times and that the keys and letters on the screen are bigger than the average phone. I like the price of Tracfone's super cheap $19.99 plan/90 days/120 minutes (if you have the double minutes for the life of the phone plan) and I find the coverage and reception has been great.

  • I am going to make a video of actual seniors trying to use this phone. Then you can see if it is a useful product or not.

  • Affordable- not easy to use. I would not recommend it for first time users.

  • this senior value cell phone is an amazing deal. a phone for under $20 is practically unheard of these days. if you don't need all of the extras that you inadvertently pay for with cell pohone contracts these days then why pay for then? alot of elderly people rely on a landline more and so would only need a cell phone to gove them mobility and for emergencies in that case it could cost as little as $8 a month to top up an SVC phone. emergency 411 calls are free as well!

  • Been reading all the comments and all i see is positive feedback... they must be doing something right. Pretty convinced its the best phone for my dad, havent found a better deal than only 7 bucks. appreciate all the feedback, helps me make a more informed decision :)

  • @redhead91681 - the reason you see all positive feedback is that other phone marketers are the ones responding. It is an OK phone - just not ideal for technologically impaired seniors as the commercial falsely implies.

  • Peace of my mind is what I will have with SVC. It has NO contract, and NO hidden charges, NO bills at the end of the month. For just $7 a month with a 60 min. card sold anywhere, even the supermarkets, what more can anyone ask for. No way I will stand a bad comment as a customer of SVC. Thanks for giving us the chance to save SVC.

  • R14.99 is such a crazy deal! I have bever heard of a phone fro that price. $7 a month for all that you need in a cell phone is pretty unbelievable. definitely gotta look into this deal some more..

  • I really think that it is great that Tracfone designed something for seniors. Most of the latest phones are just way to complicated for my grandma to use - this phone keeps it nice and simple and the price is nice and simple as well

  • Every senior should have a SVC cellphone. It is the only really cheap cellphone that I know of that is specifically for seniors. The phone only cost $15 and $7 a month, and there is no contract. This is an essential safety feature for all seniors to carry around at all times

  • I think the phone is the perfect fit for seniors. I know my grandma doesn't use hers too much, only when she is out of the house, so she doesn't need that many minutes. For just $7, she's getting even more for what she pays for. I mean the coverage is good and the text size on the screen is big for her to read... just what she needs :)

  • It’s time for some cons on this phone. The minutes pretty small for the SVC, which doesn’t really make a difference when you’re talking about older folks. However, the 911 service works, and I guess that’s the only thing I really wanted my parents to have anyways. Still, the phone is pretty solid for seniors, but could do more. Also, despite the exceptional network coverage, the customer service could improve a twinge, especially with my parents who don’t speak that much English.

  • this is just such a good idea. my grandfather ( 92 and young) has been using jitterbug and he tells me his bills are like 60 bucks a month! IS that true??? if so im def switching to svc. I mean from reading your comments it seems like this is the best idea. I just hate to think that a phone compan is stealing my grandfathers money when svc has a great phone and service.

  • it is so nice to know that there are certain companies out there looking out for the elderly :) so many of them just don;t care what they are taking from pensioners who really need to watch ever penny sa they grow old to make sure that they can afford to live the life that they had always dreamed and grow old - HAPPY :) SVC is such a great deal for elderly people or even just people who hardly use the phone and need it more to be reached on by other and for emergencies. its simple to use & cheap

  • For only $7 a month seniors can have everything they need in a cel phone. I am so glad that there are deals like this these days and people aren't just out there to squeeze every last penny out of pensioners. Svc makes me happy :)

  • Being able to buy a phone for under $20 is really unbelievable! I am so glad that this option is out there for seniors. There are so many other things to spend your money on when you get to that age - you really don't need to be ripped off by some scaley cell phone company that charges you double of what you actually need. WIth SVC Tracfone seniors can spend at little as $7 a month on air time and still stay in touch with their family and friends..

  • With so many seniors on a fixed budget, it is great to see a company like tracfone that actually cares. The phones are easy to use, no contract, and you can walk into your local Kmart and get it. What I think is the best, is the 911 emergency tracking feature.

  • I like how they say Tracfone is looking out for seniors. With this Senior Value Cell phone and plan, they have nailed it. It is so affordable and the phone easy to use. No contract or nagging monthly bill. Very convenient and at this price, no senior should be without one.

  • My grandma slipped and fell a few weeks ago when going on her morning walks and it was a really scary accident for all of us because she was alone, without a cell phone, and none of us knew it had happened. As soon as the accident was over, my mom decided she was getting my grams a cell phone no matter what. Thats when she started using SVC and it has been great! We can get in contact with her all the time, always know she's safe, and just pay $7 a month for this nationwide service!

  • @AmericanGirl194 Wow That is a scary accident. This is exactly the sort of thing that every senior need to think about. The SVC is so cheap that, really, anybody can afford one

  • The consumer reports on this seemed good enough for me to buy a few for my grandparents. They love keeping in touch with their grandchildren and their children (me). I bought a few Tracfones for the kids and they love keeping in touch with Ma and pa. It's not only fun, but it does put my mind at ease that they'll always have access to help if they need it.

  • SVC senior value cellphone is great. For just $7 a month your loved one's are covered and protected with a cellphone for their use at any time. I considered purchasing one for an elderly friend that does not have ways to pay for it and lives in a home health care home because all of her family lives in out of state in a very cold state and could not take her with her. Am calling her daughter on Monday to see what she thinks and I will take care of the rest. Do good with SVC.

  • @lachina50 I think tracfone should seriously consider making the SVC plan a little bit more special. It wouldn't be hard, but by only including double minutes for life in the plan would go a long way to not only help the elderly, but also validate this SVC plan as something better than usual.

  • I read a recent article on the web saying that only 57% of seniors 65 years and older only have cell phones. There are millions who don't have phones and apparently the biggest reason is financial. But Tracfone SVC has made it financially possible for the elderly to afford a phone for Seniors, the Samsung T155G for only $14.99 and using the cheapest lowest out of pocket cost of $6.66/month. My mom has this phone and she really recommends it to anyone else.

  • my brother recently got the iphone 4 for at&t and is amazing. But i still won't let go of my tracfone. I have had it for 4 months now and i already have saved more money than i ever dreamed off with another service. I pay as i go, meaning i buy my minutes when i need them and i don't have a contract, it can't get any better. My brother is paying over 100 dollars a month. That is definitely not for me haha

  • The more I look around the more I believe that SVC is best option for golden oldies like me! Haha! They have the cheapest phones and I can buy minutes closer to what I need. All the other companies offer too many minutes for too much money.

  • This is a great idea from Tracfone. A nice simple phone with big keys! My dad was having such difficulty in trying to operate his contract phone that he evntually just gave up. Now that I have him on the Tracfone SVC he is happy to use the phone and is able to make calls wherever and whenever he wants to

  • For the price this SVC tracfone plan seems really good. And with the well known nationwide coverage, you should really ever drop a call if you chose the right phone. But can anyone tell me which, if any, CDMA phones are available for the plan.

  • the senior value plan seems just as well thought of as the family plan that i am on with my husband and my 2 sons. i am very happy with my tracfone phones and plan. for christmas i got my parents on the svc plan from tracfone and they can't stop thanking me for it. the phone is nice and easy for them to use, they will be available anywhere, and they will have the great 911 emergency location assist which puts my mind at peace. thank you tracfone, keep up the great ideas

  • I got the senior value phone from my kids for Christmas as they say they're tired of me complaining about the small keys on my phone and now I can see the screen perfectly! They also say should I go deaf in my old age it's hearing aid compatible too...cheek I call it...but I love my phone!

  • just another great plan and idea from tracfone. i just gave the second cheap t105 to my parents for xmas. they used to share one, but now they have a phone and the senior value plan each. at $7 a month that is a real bargain, and easily affordable for them. the 911 emergency location assist is a great asset, and i think every senior should have one.

  • I moved from a contract to Tracfone which is so reliable and affordable our family was able to buy x-mas gifts this year. Tracfone has such an amazing range of value for money cell phones to choose from.

  • My dad uses some prepaid phone, i think its called trumpet mobile, but he constantly complains about the small text on the small screen so he uses his phone when someone is around to help him read the numbers or dial the right numbers. Needless to say he gets pretty frustrated with the darn phone. So this year i'm upgrading his phone to the Senior Value Cellphone. I know he's gonna love it, he'll be able to use his phone more often without help.

  • What a great Christmas gift. Not only useful for seniors but also giving the rest of the family peace of mind knowing that their older family members are contactable at any time of the day or night.

  • Dad is always the hardest to shop for during the Christmas season. When I saw this commercial for Tracfone, I decided to look into it. I felt a lot better after knowing that they ran off the Verizon and AT&T networks, and I think I’ll give this a shot for my dad this Christmas. Why not, there are no contracts and the phones are cheap and reliable. The network will obviously be great too! Don’t see why more people don’t use this service to begin with.

  • @rtak2takashi Didn't know about the networks that are used for this phone. Tracfone sure thinks of everything and the addition of the Senior Value Cell phone and plan is just another example. With so may seniors still without a cell phone, this really makes that possible. It's affordable without a contract. Kudos!

  • This is such a great deal that I bought one for my mum. For $15 I got the phone which is really userfriendly for her. The keys aren't too small for her to read or use. What is also great is that for every minute purchsed you actually get double. If she buys 60minutes she actually gets 120 I feel re-assured now that my mum is on a cellphone

  • My mom and dad each have one of these phones and they say the phone and plan is super for their needs. I just feel allot better knowing they've got the 911 emergency location assist facility on their phones so that they can get help if they slip and fall somewhere where I can't get to them fast enough to help.

  • @windyshores1 It has also put my mind at rest knowing my parents can contact 911 and/or me at any time. They have told me it also makes them feel a lot more secure and comfortable. It's also nice getting more frequent social calls from them:)

  • gotta agree as well. Good phone. Solid for my father. It's so far the only phone he could ever figure out how to use. Luckily the price is the best too!! He got it at meijers for 15 dollars and so far the ads have been right! Only seven dollars a month.

  • I agree I really like this phone for my mom because she was refusing to even learn to use a cellphone because everything she sees on tv looks so hard to use! This phone has been really good for her and she actually really loves it! The samsung t155 is the phone and people should really research it for their parents and convince them that it is very imporant to be able to be in touch at a moments notice.

  • With the holiday season coming up, I think this phone is unbelievably efficient and a great stocking stuffer for my parents. My parents barely use their phone now and giving them this phone would reduce their costs by more than half. It's a great service and I can't believe it's cheap enough to be a stocking stuffer!

  • This is a great phone, i got one for my mom and not only she is happy about the big numbers, but also about the small bill. starting at only $7 a month! and no contracts.I'm going to keep my eye out for the Black Friday's deals at kmart, this also makes a great gift for the grandparents this xmas.

  • I want to thank Refanatica for the info on where to get the SVC. I want to get this for my grandmother and Kmart happens to be her favorite store. Along with all the great features, you really can't beat the price. Also found out that it uses the AT&T provider network so you know the coverage will be good. My feeling is that no senior should be without one!

  • They sell this cell phone at Kmart and I'm sure they will be having awesome sales on Black Friday, I'm a ST customer, also a tracfone company and I'm getting this cell phone for my grandparents as a xmas present. It's affordable, it has big numbers on the screen and it goes as cheap as $7 a month, something they can really afford.

  • so nice to see that tracfone is trying real hard to satisfy all their customers with their different needs.i have a cellphone prepaid plan from tracfone for myself, and i now have purchased the svc for both my parents, i think every person these days should have a cellphone, and for the elderly the 911 emergency loacate assist the the best thing ever

  • the ad says it all, another great idea from tracfone, helping all the seniors. i got my mom the t155g for $14.99 and she simply loves it. this phone has large text and screen to help the elderly with poor vision, and for $7 a month i don't think much can go wrong, after all, she can change or cancel any time she pleases, without any cancellation fees

  • @chinacat22 I think the TF airtime cards are not that expensive if you consider that a basic contract plan would cost you more that and add fees and with the airtime cards, you pay the $30 and just use it. I think SVC (my personal view) is for people, particularly seniors, who aren't big talkers and do need something basic and reliable to keep in touch. You really can't argue the cost of the phones - less than $15 a phone.

  • This phone is outrageously expensive. The charge is something like 30 dollars for 120 minutes. My mothers other plan is unlimited and is 40 for unlimited. Plus they have the same kind of phone designed for seniors. She was sucked in by the 7.99 a month but did not realize how expensive the minutes would be. These people should be ashamed of taking advantage of seniors like this.

  • I really think this is the best for the money. $15 is very cheap for a reliable phone. My daughter recommended it to my husband. Does anyone know if it comes with a hearing aid?

  • i'm a proud prepaid cellphone customer myself. I believe tracfone has a great service and this surely seems like a great deal for seniors the need a cellphone in case of emergency! I'm getting my grandparents one for xmas, really where are you going to find such an awesome present for so little and is also very affordable for them in the long run, starting at $7 a month!

  • This makes much more sense than the jitterbug since it's a tracfone and those guys excel at cheap and simple. Perfect holiday present. Yes!

  • The SVC is such a fantastic idea. Its really cheap because its designed for people who don't use their phone too often. There aren't any contracts or bills because you pay, then used what you payed for. This way, there are never hidden fees, or extra fees.

  • what a super idea from tracfone. i had to go out and get one for my mom. this cell phone especially designed for seniors is just great. my mom loved it instantly, the large text and screen did it for her, the 911 emergency location assist and the price did it for me....the samsung t155 that tracfone offers with their plan for seniors only cost $15 and is therefore unbeaten value for money. great plan tracfone, well done for all seniors out there

  • what a great idea from tracfone. i will have to go out and find one for myself. i am so batteling to get a nice phone that has nice and big buttons, easy to find for the elderly that struggle with their eyesight and the coordination of their fingers like me. i really appreaciate the thougth that went into this phone, and it's specially designed plan from tracfone. and starting at only $7 a month is great value for money.

  • This is a great hit with my mother. Also not the most technically adept person on this planet so she is very happy with a simple, easy-to-use handset and a reliable service like the Tracfone Senior Value Plan.

  • @freddiethefrogable Thank so much for the comment ....I've been wanting to get my mother a cell phone for Christmas so now I'll definetely go with Tracfone so you helped me a lot...she's gonna be thrilled!

  • Since this is such a new product and apparently not sold everywhere yet, I'm really interested to find more information before I tell my grandparents. Although comparing it to the price of the "Jitterbug", there is a huge difference of over $120 and that's much more than 2 phones and plans would cost with this SVC. I like the auto renewal option for them and being with Tracfone lets me know they would have great service.

  • Very smart for Tracefone to offer this for seniors. Much tter than the jittery bug and less expensive. I'm goin to get one for my folks or maybe myself. LOL. but it really looks great. Thanks!!

  • Wow! I fell like doing a victory dance! I wanted to find a phone for my grandfather. His birthday is next month and he is always saying that he needs a cell phone, but he can't deal with the color screens and the small numbers! This is perfect! And it's only $15 at kmart? and service for as little as $7 a month! OMG! This is great!

  • This is a great phone for seniors. My grandfather is techno averse so we thought we'd get him this basic phone. It's so cheap that even if he doesn't use it, it's worth giving it a try. Well, turns out he actually becoming very fond of his phone and now is alwys within reach. Thanks Tracfone!

  • Ok, I did some research:

The phone has big keys and an oversized screen. It's lighted and it's big enough to see the numbers easily. It's also hearing aid compatible and comes with 911 emergency location assist. Phone prices vary, but the they start at less than $15. Monthly service starts as low as $7 a month, but the $19.99 plan includes more minutes. Includes up to 20 minutes of starter airtime upon activation.

  • 9-18-10 It's near impossible to find any detailed info on this product. You have to buy one to find out the details. They have no website, and nothing on TracPhone webiste (company who offers it).

  • @sage1 Hi, I think this product is available at -Mart, and in the mid-west at Pamida, Meijer and Shopko. The phone they are offering is a Samsung and it has big keys and a lighted dial and you can get it for less than $15.

My grandpa wor example wouldn't want a cell phone because he says it's too small. But this cell phone is something I see him using.

  • Finally, a phone I can get for my mom. I typically get her one every 4-6 months because she either doesn't like it or looses it... or something. This one though, I'm sure she'll like. She won't be able to give me the excuse she can't see the numbers! And since I'm the one paying for the monthly plan, at $7 it's a real bargain. I have TracFone and so do my kids and it's reliability's been proven. This phone's just icing on the cake and peace of mind for mom and for me.
