  • Setzer rocks harder than most metal bores.

  • i jus saw this mother fucker on tv...the nannie.....hes fucking rocks

  • Would have loved to seen them together!

  • big-time kick-ass rockabilly....

  • around 2:43.......that motherfucker is a rockstar guitar player!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Only Setzer can cover Stevie and sounds great... some blues and jazzabilly licks, a true guitar god.

  • Setzer is the man...great guitarist!

  • You suck....

  • Stevie is rock, Brian is big band and rock. Both great!

  • @JGVETTGUY With that SRV thing, your are definitely right. But this version does not SUCK. Just a very good cover.

  • this version SUCKS....Stevie Ray Vaughan blows him away

  • @JGVETTGUY Oh no...just watch SRV play this live. He's not even in Setzer's zip code. SRV is a thing, but Setzer is the greatest all-around guitar player ever. It's no contest.

  • setzer knows

  • we play because we can u can't

  • thumbs up if fran sent you here

  • Saw em in 1976

  • I watched again and I asked myself what more can he do? align the planets...hey...that's my job

  • I wish someone would post "She Thinks I'm Trash" and "This Old House" 2 of his best songs.

  • Cool

  • I think SRV would like this and am a big fan of both. Brian smokes him on this version.

  • not digging it sorry, overly done guitar solo in my opinion

  • genius

  • ive only recently started listening to brian, and i really enjoy his music, but this version just doesnt do it for me. Stevie ray is crying right now

  • @coolwipp10 I hear ya but I think ANYBODY playing SRV is good, the more people that are exposed to SRV the better!

  • brilliant just wish he would tour the UK would love to see him rock some joints here

    footyref

  • Simply an incredible talent.

  • This boy kicks ass

  • What a fuckn amazin talent....

  • oh man this drummer is crazy

  • Love SRV, Love Brian Setzer. Fabulous!! Brian is one of those guys that can cover anything and make it his, and make it rock! He has no musical snobbery, and a huge musical knowledge. Have you checked out the "classical" BSO album "Wolfgangs Big Night Out"?

  • damn the tone from that jazz box is fkg incredible

  • Setzer is a fuckin guitar-hero! :)

  • @FlyLosah A REAL guitar-hero!

  • I salute Setzer for growing as a musician, but sometimes jazzing something up can sound a little self-indulgent and schmaltzy. There's no right or wrong here, it's just about personal taste.

Overall, Brian's done a whole lot of good by painlessly re-educating lots of people to great Americana Music, from low-rent, raw, Stray Cats all the way up to the big band. I respect and dig the guy's work - this particular tune just seems a bit loaded-down and too glitzy with all the bling .

    Rock on!

  • @pyannaguy this is not the best sounding recording, perhaps it's my PC but,Brian Setzer can play this song as good as SRV(steveie ray vaughn) who I love and saw in concert one month b4 his death

  • @Syzygy60 I think SRV and Brian are like emeralds and rubies - both brilliant. But, SRV was first and foremost a blazing Texas Blues guy. Setzer, though, can go deep into sophisticated Jazz territory; he WRITES the horn charts for his big band (I've been told). In other words, they're both excellent artists, but Setzer goes wider, musically.

I'm not claiming expert status, but I know the nuts-and-bolts of music - I was a pro for 30 years (all good players don't get rich and famous). Peace...

  • @pyannaguy never again doubt B.S. :)

  • @pyannaguy wrong penis breath

  • @pyannaguy did i mention u r wrong...absolutley farthest from right that u can get,we play because it feels good,sound is a feel

  • @Syzygy60 Thanks for "explaining" why we play - to a lifelong, working musician. I've done nothing but praise Brian Setzer, here. I simply expressed my opinion (not the only one of its kind, here), that THIS particular arrangement didn't work so well for me. Opinions aren't right or wrong - only facts can be true or not.

Now, why don't you write to Brian and see if he'll send you a used rectal thermometer that you can treasure forever?

  • @pyannaguy Briuan Setzer is an artist in the true sense of the word, by rejuvianting rockabilly at time when it was unpopular, to big band. I have nothing but respect for him as an artist and educator

  • @cowboybear40 Couldn't agree more! I think the guy's terrific for the reasons you mention (I've said pretty much the same, above, in this thread). It's just that this particular arrangement wasn't my favorite.

  • @pyannaguy to glitzy? too much bling? no way you're wrong....but anyways it seems to work for him as he's won a grammy ! .....and if you ever meet him be sure to insult him with that stray cats are "low rent" comment. He'll love that. Don't quit your day job to become a music critic!

  • @SM038 I have nothing but praise for Brian Setzer but for Christ's sake: Have you never really liked an artist but had one or two songs or arrangements that you didn't care for? By the way, the 'low rent' description isn't a putdown. Have you ever seen Tom Waits and his approach, look, and sensibilities? His music isn't from the penthouse...like Charles Bukowski's - it's from the dives and low rent, skid row neighborhoods of the world and the mind...and...it's brilliant!

  • comparing srv to setzer, they both kick ass

  • Just wow....

  • he was on The Nanny, the Bobbie Fleckman Story season 5, singing this song! its an awesome song!

  • SRV is forever!

  • Does anyone else think Setzer sounds a lot like George Thorogood?

  • NOPE !!

  • Wow! i thought it was pretty good, ive see other covers and this one sounds better than most ive heard. i dont know but i dont think stevie would have not liked it!

  • I'm a big Setzer fan, but not too crazy about this cover. At least he made the song his own & didn't just do a SRV rip off like everyone else would have done. Worth watching this vid just to hear him tear it up from 2:44 on. Go man go!!

  • Setzer and his orchestra were on a PBS special back around 1996 called "Swing Alive!" They performed this song plus "Stray Cat Strut" and "Hoodoo Voodoo Doll" - all big band style! They were the final group to perform on the special and the orchestra brings down the house. Pick it up if you don't have it.

  • I love this kind of sound... a multi-car pile-up of rockabilly, rock-n-roll, and big band swing!

  • BRIAN 4EVER!!!!10*

  • I love big band too. It's just a little jazzy for me.

  • Hey, How about you fuck yourself, big band is great.

  • was that david byrne at the end? (voice)

  • that drummer was awesome.

  • He Has Talent!!!!!!!

  • i love this song

  • Great!

    Stevie would be proud.

  • fantastic!!!!!

  • Awesome.

  • thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where'd you get all those videos? Simply unbelievable, thank you very much!

  • this was really great.this guy is one of the best ever.thanks bro.
