I'm guessing the roar is the sound that all roller coasters make as that is the wheels turning against the track at very high speeds. The high-pitched sound is the steel cable winding around the drum at an extremely fast pace.

no its a cable launch system borrowed from a deck of a naval flight carrier. do some research and you'll see. when you do that little notch that pulls the jet to get speed that is what launches it

yeah...its a pully....it kinda sling shots it down. when i went to six flags i was looking at it at the launch place....then when it went go....the thing was so fast....i quickly snapped my next to the left to see it go up and it was already at the top lmao.
